Just goes to reinforce what we all know about the talent in the NFL...highly touted draft picks for a variety of reasons aren't the lock that we think they are and it goes to show how deep the talent pool in the NFL actually is.TheOgre said:Wasn't he a 1st round pick at one time? That is hard to believe.
DD and Hollings are both small shifty runners with good pass catching ability...sounds a lot like Trung. Not sure how much versatility he would add to that stable. If he was a bruiser that could pancake a linebacker or get go for the tough inside yards I would tend to agree with you. The power roll was why we picked up Wells, it would make sense to go for a complimentary skill set to go with DD and Hollings. I think that we will see Jarrod Baxter will start filling the short yardage role this year based on the need for a power inside runner.BuffSoldier said:He would be a good pickup and then maybe we could release Wells. That guy was crying about getting drafted in the 4th round. He should have went in the 7th . DD was a 4th rounder and Wells cant hold a candle to him. But Candidate would give us a lot of versatility at RB.

No argument with that...looking forward to show!BuffSoldier said:Versatile or not, good combonation of backs, fun to watch.
Yeah...speaking of fumbling RBs, what ever happened to Mack? Did he catch on anywhere?HoustonTexansAreTheBest said:Well, I heard that Trung couldn't hold onto a ball. So I guess that puts an end to this rumor, because I'm sure we all know that Capers hates to have fumblers at the RB position.
Trung has 4 fumbles (3 lost) in 272 career touches. DD has 4 fumbles (3 lost) in 285 career touches. I don't think that has been Trung's main problem. His inability to run inside and inconsistent hands out of the backfield are the reasons the Rams and Skins have lost interest in him. Running a fast 40 time is worthless if you don't develop football skills.TheOgre said:Canidate would probably have more FB's than Tiki if he had the same number of carries. The guy just doesn't hold onto the ball well.
i say bring him in as a KR and change of pases backLucky said:Trung has 4 fumbles (3 lost) in 272 career touches. DD has 4 fumbles (3 lost) in 285 career touches. espn's pasquarelliOne element that went into the Washington Redskins' decision to release tailback Trung Canidate, only a year after acquiring him in a trade, is that the team fears he will need foot surgery to repair an injury that slowed him in 2003. The main reason Canidate was lopped, of course, is that he isn't the kind of power back coach Joe Gibbs favors. But some 'Skins officials are whispering to teams seemingly interested in adding Canidate as a backup that he may not be ready to play for a while.
