Welcome to the board!

This poll is interesting... it's kind of like, "How much do you like me?"

a) A whole lot
b) A lot
c) Yes
d) Yeah, sorta

I think the Saints are a definite threat to win the NFC (and then probably get beaten by an AFC team in the Super Bowl). The question is balance. They gave up 39 points (some off 4 turnovers, right?) to the Bears in last year's title game. The Bears. The Rex Grossman led Bears. Enough said.

Gotta do better than that.

I'd argue 50/50 they go all the way to the NFC Championship / Superbowl.

The only team I see standing in the way of the Saints are the Bears; I really can't name any clearly dominant NFC team other than those two.

Unless some team erupts from out of nowhere, the destiny of the NFC lies in the arm of Rex Grossman.

Do you think they will be in the super bowl.

I certainly HOPE NOT!! Sorry, I know you and Elle are pseudo TEXAN fans, and I appreciate that, I think. BUT, I am 100% TEXAN, 0% Saints fan!!!

Since this is not a smack forum, I will leave it at that. My bet is on the Bears or Hawks. SOMEDAY, the Niners!!!!!!!

I actually think, assuming McNabb stays healthy, that the Eagles will be the NFC representative. I'm expect the Saints to make the playoffs, but I don't see them as the easy favorite out of the NFC.

Pretty much my line of thought as well....of course it helps that my fav NFC team is the Eagles. They draft well and i expect Kearse will be back with a fire and Bunkley to make a bigger impact at DT this year. Tony Hunt will be pushing for the #2 spot behind Westbrook and i think Reid might have finally figured out how a good running game can really help what he loves to do most. Pass the ball. I know they lost Stallworth but i think Curtis can pick up the slack and Reggie Brown Continues to develop into a solid receiver.

The Saints will definately win the south and will press for homefield. They would've gone last year had Reggie not been stupid in Taunting the Bear's D. I'm expecting at some point thisyear Rex will get pulled for Greise. Say what you will about Brian but at least his play isn't not schizo like Rex.

The Eagles ? we beat them twice and i dont see Mcnabb staying healthy all season , Yes i think the Bears , Hawks and Saints will be the best in the nfc . I like the Texans , and hope they do well this year , i just bleed black and gold sorry.

Yeah Im no pseudo either ,maybe psycho, ooh watch out!

Maybe the Texans? then play the Saints in the bowl and saints win , but hear me out . The Texans are primed for a run the next season and they become an AFC dynasty.

I like the saints, but then I like a lot of teams that are historically bad. I guess I'm always hoping they break out and become a contender. That's just what the Saints did. Plus they play a fun type of football with the puissant offense.

The Texans are due and I think they take a big step up this season. Maybe not the SuperBowl, but they have a shot to get into the playoffs as a wild card. There's always some breakout team so why not the Texans?

I just think it's amazing how last season at this time the Saints were, well, the Saints, and now they are probably the consensus favorite to represent the NFC. It's a strange world.

I hope the Texans make the playoffs that would be nice, Im tired of the Colts,Pats, etc. . and yes i pull for the underdog to , Saints fan for 30 years and its nice to get some respect.

Just to clarify, I'm from Louisiana. So, I've been a Saints fan for as long as I can remember. However, I've lived in Texas a long time and make it my primary residence. I was an Oiler fan. Then I fell in love with the Texans from season one. The look, the name, the logo, everything was awesome. I remember voting on all the things, like colors, logo and name. It didn't hurt that two of my father's high school football players made the squad, either. I know Corey Sears and Eric Brown. I was working for the Saints that season and a couple afterward, so I was more engaged in my job and extensive travel, but that didn't mean I didn't watch Houston games if they were aired.

Sorry, but the psuedo fan comment just didn't sit right.

But, the Saints are your #1 team?? I've been a NINER fan since I was 15 y/o, followed them all through the GOOD years, absolutely worshiped Montana, had as much NINER stuff around my house as I did Oiler. Traveled to SF every chance I got just to see them play. BUT, when the Oilers played the NINERS my heart stayed with my hometown team, as it does now with the TEXANS!! I NEVER go to the NINERS board and brag about how they are my #2 team! Sorry if that bothers you, but, TO ME, and I admit, I am old and pretty much set in my ways, that is disrespectful.

Its ok to have two teams , atleast we are here , dont get upset I am a Texan fan and you cant stop me . I am a Saints fan to and you cant stop me:splits:

In the NFC I am a Cardinals fan. AFC team is really the Bengals. I do like the Texans and hope they do well but that is more attributable to the fact I live here in Houston. Plus they fit the underdog mold I have.

I think the Saints have a excellent team, are well coached and will most defintely be a favorite for the Super Bowl...if they stay injury free but that's any team.

I've heard or read they are not a powerhouse defense but have to confess I don't know enough about them on that side of the ball to know if that's true.

Brees is outstanding though and certainly Reggie is a threat everytime he gets a touch.

Excuse me? I don't recall talking about the Saints vs. Texans here at all. This thread is about how far people think the Saints will go. I stated very early in the thread that homefield advantage was a good thing to have if the NFC game is against Chicago.

I worked for the team and they are my favorites, but it doesn't mean I don't love the Texans and it doesn't mean I don't watch other teams either.

I think your tone is a bit off this afternoon. You are even using caps, indicating a yelling voice. I think that's disrespecful. I do not care how old you are, it's rude to call someone out who hasn't said squat to get your drawers in a curl.

Just an FYI, you may want to poll the membership and see how many people here have favorites over the Texans. I call myself a fan of professional football. If that rubs you the wrong way, don't read Saints threads.

I have thought of several ways to respond to this post, but, I will just leave it alone. After all, this is a thread about the Saints and the mods will be quick to remind me that it is in the appropriate forum. Besides, I have been on this board for six years and I don't want to get banned!:texflag:

Yeah if you cant respond intelligently then its best you dont .its simple what do you think the Saints will do.

I'm predicting a Saints/Chargers superbowl.....N.O. struggled in the windy city last year, because of the elements. If they can gain home field throughout (which I think they will) then I have them taking the NFC. Grossman = a big ass question mark. Dallas = question mark with Phillips and how will Romo play in his 2nd season? Philly = will McNabb be healthy? and the Seahawks = will they be healthy? I think so many things are in the Saints favor to take the NFC.

Likewise!!

Truthfully, I think the Saints will have a very good year. Drew Brees is one of my fav QBs to watch. I followed him closely when he was with the Chargers. Felt sorry for him when they dumped him for Phillip Rivers, felt even worst for him when he had to go to the Saints. BUT, he's doing well and that's good. Felt the same way about Billy Miller. I got nauseated the first time I saw Billy in black and gold, it just was not right! But, the Saints gave him a job and I'll get to see him play in Nov, maybe. I have several players whose careers I follow. They might not play for a team I like, but, I still wish them well.

Very very good .:whip: now do the do

personally, i wouldn't mind seeing bill "bitterbeerface" belichick trip and fall face first into some of the mud on that ****ty field they play on. he's a great football mind, but a cocky one. his competitiveness, while clearly great and is probably what makes him so valuable, leads to being a poor sport and conducting himself terribly in defeat. golden boy brady too.

(WARNING: this is completely off topic and utterly useless, read at your own risk)

by the way, the patriots field (in 2005 anyway) is beyond terrible. i marched in a drum corps for 3 years and the finals were in gillete stadium once and let me tell you what...it was sort of pathetic. especially with the grounds crew up our butts about rolling our pit equipment over their grass. they actually put down some wooden path that we HAD to follow. like, it couldn't have been any worse unless a grenade throwing contest had been held there recently...

I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio when he coached the Clowns. He's an awful human being. A great coach, sure, but as his work for the Clowns shows, he's no miracle-worker, or maybe not the Genius he is often extolled as. Especially after that second half against the Pats.

Belichick might just have the luck of Sulla--which goes a long way, as Lucius Cornelius Felix once proved.

Hold on a sec Mr New guy and you have no idea what the heck you are talking about. Respond Intelligently? Maybe you should take your own advice, if you even know what it is to respond intelligently. she did not respond because she is extremely smart and does not want to upset a friend and or to cause any anomosity between people on this forum. If you would actually use reading and comprehention you would have understood that. no you thought it would be a good idea to try and insult GrandMa's intellict.

I have had post deleted before because of language and I am sure when the next person says something really stupid i will go over the top and have that post deleted, but that is OK I have no probs with that. I am being nice so far, because right now I would love to tell you where you can take your attitude towards people I call friends.

The Saints......? While pondering this question, I thought to myself if you separate the best looking turd from a pile, it's still a turd...

For those who have no creativity: The Saints may (or may not) be the best turd of the pile of turds in the Nancy Football Conference.

But then again, forget all of that.... WHO CARES?!!?!!?
