Preston Parsons. Kid has real talent, watched him play at NAU and he was with the Cards for a couple years as a back up. Green was foolish enought to let him go and keep Josh Mclown. This Kid is a gamer!!! if he gets a start he'll never relinquish that roll. I really think this kid is the best kept secret in the NFL. Make no mistake, Parsons is a starter in this league sooner or later.

seems pretty quick to me.. good to know we are addressing problems immediatly. I wonder if grabbng cheatwood means we are letting an OLB go?

even though tony was getting up there in age i felt he was a quality back up. Havent ever heard of this Preston Parsons. And yes isnt this a lot of transactions and the off season just started ?!?!?!?

letting go of tony wont necessarily free up cap room. This was his contract year.. basicly, we wont resign him now.. and that frees up cap room.

Im not sure how much we were paying him anyway.

This guy is pretty big at 6'4 232 lbs. Wonder how good of an arm he has. Does anyone have any information about him?

He is officially signed. He has a rocket launcher for an arm. Arm strength will never be an issue for this kid.

chucks daddy. not in love, I wanted the Seahawks to sign him. a few other teams were interested. SF worked him out and had an offer on the table Im told. Carolina was very interested as well.

Yes, this is normal. The roster will grow to 90 or so by July. A lot of guys will come and go between now and then.

I don't understand, if he's a "real talent" ..why did Cardinals let him go when they are looking hard for a QB in the draft?

Im not too overly impressed by that as well. His college stats are nothing overwhelming playing against teams like Portland State or Montana State.
He'll probably go to NFLE.

There will be future Jake Delhomme's. He could be one of them (odds are he isn't though). Some QB's or other position players for that matter take years to develop. Just because he hasn't done much doesn't mean he can't or won't.

He's not going to NFL Europe. What makes a **** team like the Cards do anything? look at thier QB roster. McClown, Shaun King, John"the playbook needs more pictures" Navarre. you'll get to see a bunch of him in Pre-season and I'll put money down he gets the 2nd spot behind Carr.

Hey, guys. We have no pass protection at all and this guy is big. Please tell me he can run really, really fast!

I saw him play a while back but wasn't overly impressed concidering they were playin a unranked team. Plus to those who think he was GREAT in 2001. So? So was 3/4 of the NFL when they were in college. The simple fact is he hasnt had any play time in a real game in 3 years so he will not come out hot. Eventually he may have potential but its gonna take time like it does with all players. However how fast is he? We need a QB that can scramble and with his size if he has speed , he wil be one mean scrambler. That is all... From The Opinions Randy

Saw him play while he was with Arizona, pretty impressive against Green Bay and the Vikings in two pre-season match-up's... I think he just needs a chance and we may very well see another Brady or Warner...

Didnt Carr just lead the AFC in rushing yards for a quarterback...how much more do you want?
I definitely agree with that. I don't want a Michael Vick type QB back there when we have the type of weapons around him that a guy like Carr can get the ball to but keep the ball rolling with his feet if he needs to.

Here is the only NFL experience I could find on the guy, and this was all preseason a couple of years ago. Knock yourself out.

2002 vs. Green Bay P. Parsons 6/10 191yds 1 td 0 int

2003 vs Vikings P. Parsons 13/16 comple 156 yds 1 td 0 int

1. Who cares what he did in college?
2. Against those teams?
3. Not even putting up that good of #'s?
4. And what has he done the last 3 years- nothing.

I am sure the Texans have a plan. I just have no idea what it is and will not get excited until I know it.

Carrs the man for the Texans so unless he gets hurt no one else will play.
I don't think anyone thinks we're replacing Carr- but there has to be a reason for drafting this guy... :-)

They didn't draft him, the Texans signed him as a free agent. Also the reason for signing him is because Tony Banks has said that he wants to be with a team next year that will let him compete for the starting job and he knows thats not here.

Draft, sign, potato, potatoe- not enough sleep, overtime last night (w/out pay), and been on a teleconference since 8 :-P

I saw the pre-season game in Minnesota on TV when Parsons was with the Cards. He came off the bench in the 2nd half with them behind and ended winning game. McCown had not produced. Parsons had an excellent set of stats. Scored two TD's threw another. Had something like 12 or 13 out of 16 completed. Sounds like he's a dang good acquisition to me.

So does this mean we do not use the 13th pick for a QB? This guy's stats as reported here, are all over the place. The web site referred to shows "no recent" info. I guess we just go with the scouts judgement.

With this guys past record of success, he may have been brought in for the likelihood that Banks may be gone next year. If he is all he is cracked up to be, well then the writing may be on the wall for Tony B.

if Tony does go, and Parsons doesnt get cut, and Ragone goes to NFLE and has success there, then i would expect the depth chart to look like this.
1- Carr
2- Ragone
3-Parsons
.... not saying this cant change, but its seems likely that what it might be at the begginning of training camp/ preseason

Here is how it unfolds next year...

Carr - Unquestioned starter
Ragone - Primary back up QB and has been in the system two full years now.
Symmons - On the roster but not active on game day
Parsons - Cut
