Fantasy sleepers

Just watched highlights from the Titans/Bills game. Looks like VY doesn't have much chemistry with the receivers yet, but it looks like he has a pretty good connection with Bo Scaife.

Seems like I've seen Ben Troupe rated ahead of Scaife in most rankings, but it looks like Scaife might be a pretty good fantasy backup.

I picked up Chris Brown off waivers last week because I think it's just a matter of time until LenDale tanks.

Like Mr. White I like Scaife as a sleeper TE. He has a knack for getting in Young's vision.

At WR, the Chargers huge receiver Vincent Jackson is developing chemistry with David Rivers.

At QB, Dante Culpepper has been named the Raiders starter. Kiffen likes to throw the ball, and Culpepper seems to have regained some mobility.

At RB, the Pack's rookie Brandon Jackson looks like the starter. He may get more touches this year than fellow rookies Peterson or Lynch.

At DEF/ST - The Texans! Young playmakers on defense and two dynamic returners. Don't tell anyone.

I just picked up Jacoby Jones today. I am trying to trade Jake Delhomme for Drew Brees. If the trade works, then that person is honestly stupid.

How about Tony Hunt, (Eagles RB)? He supposed to be the short-yardage/ goal-line RB this year. He's scored some TD's in the preseason already.

Seems like Westbrook gets hurt pretty often too.

I'll keep an eye on him tonight when the Eagles play the Steelers.

Here's a sleeper for you. Najeh Davenport of the Steelers. He'll get a lot of carries as they get into the redzone. Speaking of the Steelers I think Heath Miller is going to have a big year this season. Big Ben is being asked to carry the load more & he's definately got a great comfort level with Miller. I'd expect 8 to 10 TDs this year out of the Steelers TE.

JACOBY JONES! :fans:
I was about to ask if any one else quietly picked him up in a late round like I did?

Owen Daniels
Got him, though I doubt he'll play much since I got Antonio Gates.

I think Texans players are routinely lousy for fantasy points. Even Andre Johnson. We just don't run a "fantasy friendly" offense--we tend to grind it out on the ground, chew up lots of clock and throw high-accuracy short and mid-range routes, then get stopped in the red zone. However, I am hopeful that Schaub's presence might change that this year, even though I think that part of what I have just described is in some sense the way Kubiak chooses to run his offense. Similarly, I've never thought Denver offered many top fantasy choices.

Wes Welker.

Reason 1:) He's sandwhiched in between 2 dangerous studs (moss & Stallworth) & most teams will not let their CB's go 1 on 1 with Moss. The Safeties will definitely be shaded to moss which leaves Welker & Watson, in what most likely will be mismatches, free to eat up the middle & the seams.

Reason 2:) He's finally playing with a QB that can get him the ball b/c Brady is among the best in the NFL at spreading the ball around; he'll get touches.

Reason 3:) he's a dual threat to score; offense & special teams.

Reason 4: {& probably the most important of them all} I dropped Devery Henderson to pick him up. :user:

I think LenDale White is going to have a huge year. I also like Ronald Curry, WR Raiders...you guys need to go pick up Curry if you need a WR and want a true sleeper.

I like Curry, but I also like Kevin Curtis with the Eagles. I think he'll be a reliable target for McNabb, and I'm banking McNabb to have a MVP type season.

If you need to pick up an extra QB then either Garrard or Campbell make sense as guys you can plug in when your QB1 is on a bye.

I also like Wes Welker because not only will he be decent receiver but he will also be a PR and KR.

List of demands
Not exactly a sleeper but someone who i feel is undervalued is Brandon Jacobs. He has 4.4 speed and is 6'4 260. I expect him to get around 1100 yards and about 12 TDs.

A few other are Bo Scaife, Patrick Crayton, Vincent Jackson and JACOBY JONES :wild:

Scarlet is hot.
My top sleeper was Owen Daniels, but when he flew off our draft board, my next sleeper was Jacoby Jones. I would up getting Jacoby in round 18 of an 18 round modified keeper draft. (I got JaMarcus in the 17th -- just in case.) Our modified keeper format?
o any player drafted AFTER round 3 may be kept for one more year
o up to 2 keepers per year
o keepers constitute next year's rounds 4 and 5 draft picks.

It keeps the talent fresh, and really has profound draft strategy implications.

Ronald Curry, WR, Oakland (10 receptions, 133 yards, TD)

Bite Me!!

Now tell me a TE to get, cause Vernon Davis is not going to catch crap because Alex Smith sucks.

Pick up Johson from the Saits if he's available in your league. He won't put up monster numbers, but he should be good for at least a few catches a game. If he regains his old form he had with the 49ers then he could be a nice pickup.
