The situation for Dallas

Here's the situation with Q.B
Quincy Carter- Likely starter for next season but will feel the heat of Testeverde (If he's signed)

Testeverte- Not signed yet but its very probable, will challenge Carter for starting spot. The Pro for Vinny is he's extremely exprienced, has played for Parcells, has played with Keshawn Johnson. CON is he's turning 41 come this November

Henson- Will likely be a back up to Vinny or Carter because he has no NFL exprience and also because he's rusty cause he took a break from football and played baseball

Hutchinston- Started off strong with NFL Europe's Rhein Fire, but are basically cut out of the NFL Europe championship running. Also last game he recieved a shoulder injury and will miss alot of the Cowboy's camp.

Tony Romo-Havent heard anything about him yet, he played decent in last season's pre season games

For our defense situation we need a cb to help out Roy Williams, The Cowboy's drafted 3 this year (Why??) But they've shown intreste in Mackenzie from GB, I think thats the best option

For running back, Im scared, BP and Jerry Jones really rolled the dice when they selected Julias Jones as RB. In my opinion the playoffs are in the hands of Julias Jones if he does well or not
 
Never place playoff aspirations solely on the performance of a rookie, I dont know why they didnt draft Steven Jackson. Until they get a better QB they arent going anywhere yall better hope that Henson turns out to be a steal for what yall traded to us for him.
 
A playoff team always requires a good RB, if you dont have a good RB then you're out. Right now BP grabs Julias Jones for Notre Dame and is going to name him starter. I would feel alot more better if BP got Michigan's Chris Perry instead. So you think we need a better QB? Well Quincy's very likely to be a starter next season, why is he so bad? He lead Dallas to a 10-6 last season. He's only going to improve with Keshawn and the rest of the recieving squad. Incase he doesnt we always got Vinny Testaverde who we're nearing a deal with, also we have Drew Henson, who might prove to be an awesome Q.B someday. Right now I think the Q.B position isnt the part Dallas should be worrying about
 
Testaverde has signed and it will be announced today.

Kurt Warner has also signed with the Giants.

I think it was the stupidest move of the draft when Dallas traded down with Steven Jackson, Chriss Perry, and Kevin Jones just sitting there, I laughed my a$$ off. Seriously Dallas has no chance to make it to the playoffs this year.

Actually, the defense led them to 10-6. Quincy just held them back from being even better, although how they got to 10-6 to begin with still escapes me. Carter just doesn't seem to have the decision-making to be a successful QB, and now the running game is being gambled on Julius Jones. Another thing, who is your CB starting opposite of Newman? Mario Edwards was a glaring weakness in the Cowboys D last season, and I'm not sure a whole lot is being done to remedy that. If they do pick up McKenzie however like you hope, that will be a pretty formidable D.

On the flip side, how do you say that the failure of a team with a great RB, but made the playoffs, to draft the 1st RB on the board will keep them from making the playoffs again. Julius Jones seems to have at least Troy Hamm and egg sandwich's potential. May not have been the best draft move, but won't determine their season.

If you dont have an offense how can a team possibly be 10-6???
Mario Edwards was cut a few days ago. Even if we dont get McKenzie we still got the other 3 CB's we drafted

I still cant get over the Steven Jackson trade down, I was getting mad that they were going to get him and then they traded down.

Dallas played a soft schedule last year, one of the easiest record wise in the NFL. I wont go as far as to say they have no chance to make the playoffs, but it is certainly a whole lot tougher.

You guys had 12 games against non-playoff teams and only 4 against playoff teams and you guys only beat 2 playoff teams, Eagles in week 6 and Panthers in week 12 and the Panthers kick your tails in the wildcard round. Like I said, soft schedule.

Yes it does. That stength of schedule that you posted was based on what the teams did the year before. It is based solely on LAST YEAR.

In this world of parity in the NFL, it only matters what you did to the teams in that season. In other words, opponents win percentage for that same year. That type of strength of schedule really allows you to see how a team fared against a tough schedule.

See this link and you will see that the Cowgirls played a fairly weak schedule. Look at the opponents win percentage.

But if you only played 4 games against playoff teams, that is a measly 25% of games played against playoff teams. I'll count the Dolphins and Buc game for you so you played 6 games against playoff teams since both were close and that bumps up the percentage of games played against playoff teams to 37.5%.

The Texans had 7 games played against playoff teams and that is 43.75%, and if you count the bucs and 'phins games that we played, that is 56.25% of our games played against playoff teams.

Which schedule would you have rather had?

My bad, that brings the % of games played against playoff teams 31.25% and if you count with the bucs and 'phins, 43.75%. Yall didnt even break 50% and I gave you 2 games.

Since I had nothing better to do and I love the Texans/Cowboy rivalry, I am going to throw this out there.
Here are the teams we both played:
Dolphins
Patriots
Falcons
Bucs
Panthers
Bills
Saints
Jets

Here are the results for both teams
Dolphins – Texans won, Cowboys lost
Pats – Texans took them to OT, ‘Boys got shutout
Falcons – Texans win (and we saw a little bit of Vick), Boys lose
Bucs – Texans, with a rookie QB, break the Bucs record of having like 40 games (its something like that) with a takeaways and acutall do what the Cowboys cant, score, Boys shutout and Carter throws 2 picks
Panthers – both win in nail bitters
Bills – both win in ugly games
Saints – both lose
Jets – Texans lose lead late in 4th, Cowboys stomp them

In games against similar oppenents the Texans have 4 victories, while the Cowboys have 3. And the Texans have more quality games against the better teams, Pats and Bucs for example. Texans got shutout once this season, and Cowboys twice.
 
Why do you hate me so much? Reguardless of strenth of schedule we ended up at 10-6 :) We cant decide our schedule. We made a 10-6 record out of it. One thing you cant deny is we beat NFC champs Carolina Panthers fair and square in the regular season, with that it proves we could beat teams like them.

I knew the that strength of schedule was based on 02' stats.Why would it say 02 results on it? Thanks for quoting me by the way for some reason :cool:

So when you compare Dallas and Houston's coommon oppenents, you say Houston was a better team last season?

I was trying to defend the cowboys, Texans279 said they had no chance, and I said they did although you played on of the softest schedules in the league last year. Thats when you said it was one of the hardest and got me all riled up. And I know you cant choose the schedule.

You did beat the Panthers in the regular season, but they beat you when it meant the most.

You welcome for the quote, I got in trouble on some of my papers for english this year for not quoting correctly so I thought I'd practice that skill somewhere else besides the classroom today. :D

No, I just thought I'd add to the Texans/Cowboys rivalry and try to prove that we are on our way up.
