pass before you run.

texans are going to have to open up the run with their passing game early in the season. matt is going to have to prove his worth. this oline is not good enough to move people out of the way. the pass blocking actually looked ok tonight so their is still hope.

we missed Pitts....we probably score a TD if he is in there early. The offense looked fine to me other than the fact that we really don't have a short yardage back...just because Dayne is big...doesn't make him a goal line back.

pitts would definitely help. im a little conserned about weary a year ago i thought he would be gone by now. he had a really bad play early but it was just one play.

Weary was our best lineman last year....what was the worry about his game last year?

i didnt pay much attention to him last year. i usually key on certain guys and he wasnt one of them. and i dont get any info on lineman except what i observe myself. so thats really good to hear.

it just seemed like he was going the opposite way on the depth chart. but of course that was when we had the previous staff here.

Rip Van Markbeth? Did you sleep thru last season or what? :texflag:

I think that this line would be much improved if McKinney starts and we roll out Pitts, McKinney, and Weary on the inside week 1....I'm not real hot on Flanagan.

sorta we moved out of state. i wasnt able to follow the whole season as close as i would of liked. or maybe i just spent to much of my football time trying to figure out how to defend david carr. im over that now.

fwiw, McKinney played well when he replaced Flanagan last season...when the Texans were running the ball well at the eoy, McKinney, Weary and Pitts were the 3 inside guys. I still would like to see us upgrade the C...but McKinney seems to be a better run blocker than Flanagan at this point in his career.

Don't sweat the running game, sometimes it takes a couple of games to get the running game rolling. Also like mentioned before, the Texans were missing Pitts, but another thing thats not being mentioned, is the loss of Pitts actually weakens two positions. (nevermind Vinny just hit on it ^) Flanagan needs to be a backup straight up, that guy can't get a push to save his life. I hope Mckinney gets the job and Sherman doesn't just hand him the job, because he's a previous pack player.

My problem with McKinney is I never know who is going to show up. He seems to have a lot of peaks and valleys. Or maybe that is just called age.

Flannagan just seems to have valleys.

McKinney's downfall is his pass protection. He is a pretty decent run blocker. Flanagan is a better pass protector...but is a lousy run blocker.

I know Studdard is a rookie and all, but I thought he had a good game tonight. With the exception of the last play where they got a sack on him, I thought he did well with his run blocking and pass protection skills. He looked mean out there.
