Anyone seen this crap? The new, best, loudest seats in the stadium? Are you TRYING to insult the Bullpen to sell some more 500 and 600 level season tickets?!?!

500+ level holds close to 30k of the seats in the stadium (last time I checked that is more than the Bullpen), they are the level where most of the seats available are, so that is what they are going to advertise? Would you rather them advertise Bullpen tickets, even though they can't sale any of them? That would make alot of sense.

I swear alot of the Bullpen is so f'n elitist that it is annoying. You act like if you aren't in the Bullpen, you ain't nothing. I thought this board was for all fans, if not someone let me know.

Just by mentioning another area of seats in the ads is some kind of insult? What kind of crazy assed elitist talk is that?

I'm not insulting people in 500 and 600, but rather marketing it as "the loudest place in Reliant stadium." I just don't think that's true. People in other areas of the stadium are always telling stories about how their neighbors get annoyed at their cheering, or the people behind them yell at them to sit down. How is that the "loudest place in Reliant?"

IMO, the Bullpen is about the only place where the majority of the fans stand, wave, and yell the entire game. And you don't have to worry about getitng yelled at, because they're in the minority. That, to me, is the loudest place in the stadium. That'sm why I sit there. Not for the view, you can only see plays on your end, and for me personally I have to duck below a goalpost to see. But I sit there because it's loud.

It's like marketing the Director's club as the most lavish seats in the stadium (I still can't picture where these seats are) - the most lavish suites are in Mr. McNair's suite, the Brazos suite, and the other one (can't remmeber the name).

Call me elitest if you must....

On another note, nopt sure where the band is going to play during half time? One of the endzones?

I don't have a problem with the Bullpen being the Bullpen. The individual fan in the Bullpen may be another thing, but as for what the Texans wanted the Bullpen to be, I'm all for.

Sad to say that from my view of the Bullpen for the first 4 years I sat directly over it, it has more of the opposing teams fans in it than any place in the stadium. Now I understand that that is probably because of the level of play and that the season ticket holders there probably sold their tickets....maybe. If so...well...I've never missed a game up in my 500 perch. So in that sense, it's not working as far as what the idea was supposed to be.

Now, those who are down there every game, stand the whole game, and do the things that the Bullpen was supposed to be about, more power to you. Hell, I wish the whole stadium had the passion you guys and gals have. I want the Bullpen to get big, known nationally, rank up their with the Dawg Pound and the Black Hole, but with much classier fans, of course. It hasn't happened yet.

We'll see what happens when the Texans become a winning football team, but I can guarantee that when that happens, you won't find any section of that stadium any louder than the other.

Well, not including the socialites in the club section.:hides:

Isn't my yacht more important than the Texans? Sadly, the Bullpen had as many empty seats/Ebayed tickets as the rest of the stadium last year. Hopefully winning will help fill the entire stadium with TEXANS fans.

It's advertising, is Budweiser the most refreshing beverage on the planet? Are any slogans or claims totally true in advertising? I work in advertising and I know that is not true. Not sure why anyone would get offended because of the Texans advertising for seats in the stadium.

I just thought your post reeked of, "How dare the Texans advertise another section besides the Bullpen," and frankly that is the kind of talk that creates the atmosphere of division that I have felt at times here and with fans in general. I am glad the Texans are now making everyone feel welcome by giving attention and a nickname to us upstars. They are even doing promotional events upstairs for us this year. I think it's great you have your Bullpen and reasons for being there, but I my own valid reasons for being up there.

The main thing is, they are selling tickets where they are available. They are going to make them sound like the most desirable seats. In my opinion, pretty much everything they said was mostly true. Best view of the action and loudest area (when you have 30k people, yes it is the loudest section). For the first 3 seasons, the Texans ignored the 500-600-700 levels. The only thing you heard in all advertising was Bullpen, Bullpen, Bullpen and more Bullpen. It frankly made everyone else feel like we weren't appreciated and not exactly important to the team. So your post kind of irritated that same sore that the Texans are trying hard to heal.

Dskillz...I sit in sec. 547... Half way up, and I look right down the middle of the goalposts and have a sweet view. The fans in my section are very passionate and very loud. I have never felt as if the Texans organization has treated us like 2nd class ticket holders, EVER ! My seats are excellent, the fans around us are passionate, and if you felt as if Yankee was being elitest, well that is your thought, as I would not trade my seats for any in the bullpen, and thats no slight on those fans...As Yankee said, he can only see whats going on down at his end, I see the entire field, coming and going, holes opening and closing, routes being ran, plays being covered...

So I feel bad for you if you think that the Bullpen fans are sounding like they are elite, as you should not care how they feel. And to allow some printed words that you took out of context to get you in a lather, relax my friend, the season is close upon us....

Back in 2002, we were given some 2nd row seats on the 20 yard line (against the Bengals where we got blown out).

Anyway, the noise in the stadium comes from both endzones, which was clearly evident when I sit down low in the middle. And not just the bottom sections of the endzones, but the entire endzones from top to bottom.

Up in 547, we scream our heads off when the defense is on the field, and have NEVER been told to be quiet or sit down. Three crazy dudes in Texans hardhats are probably not the guys that you want to tell to be quiet during a football game anyway. We don't drink, so we won't be rude about it, but your request will go unfulfilled.

I can't say who is the craziest or loudest fans or sections, because in reality, it doesn't matter and it would be purely a subjective opinion. All I know is that Reliant has the capacity to be extremely loud when the fans are in a game, and this is all that really matters to me. We just try to be section cheer leaders who whip up those around us into a frenzy. It's been tough the last couple of years, but we have hope that better times are ahead and H-town can reclaim it's notoriety as one of football's loudest cities.

With regards to the Bull Pen, we are brothers in arms, and we are all Texans!

LOUD, PROUD, & TEXAN!! :fans: :texflag: :redtowel:

The reason the others around you NEVER tell you to sit down or to be quiet has nothing to do with your hardhats DB, it's those pink lacey ballerina outfits you are wearing that keeps them quiet....:shades:

I sit in 611 and never have I seen anyone tell people to sit down or anything. The only time I heard anything like that was when some guys were drunk as a skunk and using the kind of language that was not appropriate. Other than that incident, people stand, make noise, etc. Actually there is a 63 year-old lady next to me that cheers or boos every single play. It is quite the display of enthusiasm that gets pretty much everyone else invloved as well.

Not at Texan Mojo...and if I recall, the lots are now the 'Miller Lite' lots. Maybe you should change the beer you drink...since you will be tailgating on the land of Miller Lite!!!! :stirpot:

Frankly I could care less where anyone sits...as long as they root for the home team and they are loud.

They are the Miller Lot lots? I had no idea about that. I wonder if they will have signage out there.

Oh yeah...love the Shiner Bock. Good stuff there! But I couldn't shotgun it. That stuff gives me one wicked headache if I drink too much of it.

I've never gotten a headache from Shiner Bock, Its actually the only beer i really love, and its not just because my Brother is Brewmaster....But since it is in the family, i have to support my Bro...

And HOBIE, What was that bud comment you made that you drink anything???...lol...Remember on one of your tailgating parties my brother gave you 5 cases of Shiner Bock since you loved it sooo much, and then i caught you with a bud Light in your hands....Remember, you looked like a deer in head lights saying, "Someone handed it to me, i really didn't want to drink it" LMAO...

I love Shiner Bock, but I will admit because it is a heavier beer, I can not always drink it. Personnally I am a budlight guy, and will not drink 99% of miller light products.

Texans football amd Shiner Bock nothing better.

The closer to water the beer is, the better for tailgating (hot weather, makes you feel less full, and easier to drink quickly for fun or because you're outside the stadium gates).

Yep...even the beloved Platinum lot is a Miller Lite lot (I prefer the grass).

Dayum, they are getting sponsors for everything! Pretty soon we will be going to the 'Mr. Norman Bathrooms'.

I used to drink a hell of alot of Shiner, but it is just too heavy. Yankee is right, drinking all that heavy beer makes you just feel full and tired. Drinking a light or Lite beer really allows you to still have energy and not feel like you ate a turkey before 10AM.

I am trying to formulate my drinking plan for the tailgates this year. I am thinking that hourly shots might be a part of the menu.

Next to Shiner, i do drink Miller lite....My second favorite beer....Guess i never have been a Bud woman...

WHOA.... I guess I need to refresh your memory there Ms. Shinerbock....
Since being a graceous host as I am, and I wanted to make sure everyone that attended was well taken care of, I ran out of my beer and was searching for a cold one after the game. I was handed a cold beer, and that is what I was wanting. Now, I must say I was not searching out a BUD LIGHT, trust me, I never go looking for BUD or BL. It was what was available and I could not come across anything else.

I do admit guilt, I was caught red handed with it, and for that reason alone, I now keep a few of my beers in my truck for post game festivities..The shame alone has changed me !

Now are sure I iced them down?? I iced down the ones you wanted me too. As for the rest, no way in hell I was icing those down and putting them out for everyone else...I might be a good host, but I am not dumb enough to give away good beer like that !! Drink my Miller, or someone elses Bud, or whatever, SHINER IS OFF LIMITS..I am thinking the 1910's were playing games on you !!

Miller, Bud, Coors, they are all great if all you want to do is urinate. On a side note since I have moved to PA it has taken me 6 months and I finally found a store with Shiner, so note to Shinerbock_girl, tell your bro they need to get some more brew up this way. I have to drive 30 min every time I need a case of Shiner. There is so many good micro brewed American beers these days I would be hard pressed to pick one. I generally drink more stouts and porters in the winter, and hoppy ales in the summer. The occasional wheat (weizen) also does a body good.

Yea that Iron City crap was horrible, but the Penn Ale wasn't all that bad.

We went to the Church Brew Works while we were in Pittsburgh too. That was a trip getting drunk in a friggin church.

Iron City is Pittsburghs equivilant to Lone Star. Yuengling is the semi-equivilant to Shiner (just not as good). It has been years since I have been to church brew works, but the concept of an alter filled with beer vats keeps the people coming.

I will be sure to tell him....They are trying to expand in that area...

When I found it I was en route to get beer for a family picnic, I was told Miller Lite pony keg, so on the way to the counter with the keg I saw Shiner and bought a case for myself and anyone who wanted to try it. Lets just say the Shiner was gone in 30 minutes and it was tough to get everyone to finish the keg. It went over real well. If he can swing more stores up here I will be sure to promote it. Cheers

Man, I don't see how you guys can stomach Miller Lite and Bud, or most other American beers for that matter. I remember last season or the season before I took off and forgot my beer. Some in my tailgate offered me Miller Lite and I opted for water. I just can't drink that stuff. I am not trying to come off as a beer snob either. Those types of beers give me a headache and make me want to hurl, plus you have to drink 3 or more of them to get a decent "picker upper" going.

Now that I think of it, I want to thank those great guys at St. Arnolds in the Blue Lot. It's not a Texans Tailgate for me unless I go visit them and grab at least one St. Arnolds. Now that is GOOD beer.

BTW, my diss on American beers are the big name ones like Bud, Miller, Coors, etc. There are good American beers out there like St. Arnolds, Shiner, Sam Adams, and many other smaller micro brew companies. Most of these good beers use traditional European recipies and brewing techniques.

Most of these good beers use traditional European recipies and brewing techniques.

Most of them do use old world techniques but for the last few years you have seen some things that arent quite so old world. I think many American microbreweries have tried to see how many hops they can cram into a bottle, where many old german beers relied on more of a malty charchteristic. I am also not a beer snob, I just enjoy trying different kinds of beer. If its free and cold (or if I am broke) I will go with a regular (I hesitate to use that word) beer. To be honest if I am buying I might just grab a PBR instead of miller, because its cheaper and the taste is not too different. Also, when I am fishing I drink Miller Lite because I can start at 7am with a beer and not be on the floor by 2pm. I miss St. Arnolds, I don't think I will ever see that up this way.

Your the second on that mentioned this particular beer Yuengling...One guy swears its the best ever but you can rarely find it around here...Isn't it a belguim beer???

i always enjoy beer talk, and this summer i was introduced to the New Belgium Brew. Co. in Ft. Collins, Colorado.

each of their beers, with the exception of the one made of organic wheat, was smooth and tasteful, even the dark beer and I don't drink dark beer much, but i would buy their dark beer.

if you see it at your grocery spend the extra dollar and try it out, i suggest Fat Tire it is their most popular selling brand and if you like that then expand to the rest.

Hey, maybe we need to start a beer thread...lol...Then we could talk about everyones different beer taste....

I love dark beer, especially Heinekin dark, I think that is the best dark beer made but very strong, stronger than shiner bock. I just think that dark beer is a little hard to drink on a hot day. I'd rather drink Bud select, or Bud. But dark beer does go down well on a cold day.

Best beer ever is Pivovarna Lasko in Slovenia.

The last beer that made me go wow was Whale's Tale Pale Ale out of Nantucket. This thread has reminded me to check on its distribution as it was very limited four years ago.

Gotta go with Shiner.

Grew up about 7 miles from the brewery. Can't beat the Premium (they call it blonde now) in a keg.

Now it is Bock for the most part, but I do miss the 97 from last year.
