I know alot of you guys live in the Houston area, but many of us don't. We have zero access to Houston TV, and unless the radio stations are carried on the web, we don't hear that. What I'd like to see, is those who possess the technical savvy the gathering of information for those of us outside the Houston market. There are programs (i.e. Camtasia) that can screen cap video and pictures. I'd be willing to host this material if enough are interested.

Other than this MB the Texans website is probably the best. They're doing a fine job so far this year. Articles containing comments from players including video.

I heard on 610 a few things:

1) Schaub and Kubiak agreed the offense has looked subpar so far. He called them ineffective I think
2) Kubiak has said the defense looks great, making big plays
3) Jerome Mathis looks great, has his speed and confidence back, and broke away from some corners to get good separation and bring some balls in
4) Charlie Anderson looks to be the starter for SAM going into TC. Kubiak is giving him a lot of reps with the first team

I'M GETTING FREAKING EXCITED... I don't Know about anyone else but watching some of these videos of the vets talking about the year and hearing about the new guys. I am very very optimistic about this year WOOOOO HOOOOO:whip: :splits: :doot:

Obviously it's way to early to hit the panic button or freak out, but I do appreciate the honesty of their statement.

The fact that there are standards and they recognize it speaks volumes, because it turns out that it's not all about having fun after all.

I would tend to think the D will be ahead of the O at this point, so I'm not too worried yet. Afterall, it's easier to destroy something than build something right?:d:

There isn't any Texan news up here (for a reason I guess) but I find all news I need on houstontexans.com or here so I don't need any more but would happy to hear and see more.

I was a Charlie Anderson fan last year and thought he should've gotten more PT. I think he will be a pleasant surprise for us.

I appreciate all the responses, but I guess I need to clarify what I meant. I'm able to get all the stuff from the Houston Texans website, and here on these forums, and I find all of it extremely interesting and valuable as a fan. What I miss is the local Houston coverage (yes I know the local media sucks in their coverage there, but try San Antonio for a week, and you'll know how WE feel). We get zero coverage of the Texans here, so what I'm looking for is someone to record the local news channels. Any specials they may have prior and into the season, and digitize those for web streaming.

I won't bother with the news stuff; but, don't worry, I'll do it with all the games. :devilpig:

PS-:jk:

Yeah, we probably won't be seeing many games here, but I have that part covered :) Where there's a will, you'll usually find a bill :)

I heard through the grapevine that some of the defensive coaches have higher expectations for him this year. I think he's worked hard since he's been here, and I hope it all comes together for him. He's earned some success.

I didn't personally attend the TC this morning, but just listened to the podcast report from the Chrons Lance Z. who had some interesting comments.
In talking about the OLine in some one-on-ones with DLineman, he basically said they did not impress and in particular Eric Winston looked to struggle the worst. Not good, but we're just getting started here.
Then he mentioned a name I'm not at all familiar with - Tim Bulman, an undrafted FA from Boston college who came into the league in 2005. He said on the individual drills, Bulman in particular gave Winston fits and played well in overall and predicted he might get a shot at making the DLine rotation.
Z also said Mario was looking pretty fit, and that new DLine coach Jethro would be a big asset to Mario's development.

IAs far as offensive line goes, Winston looked excellent.

Seems we have a split decision - who is the third judge?

i know everyone likes to bash the chronicle but this year im finding some good video and pod casts from them.

http://www.chron.com/sports/texans/ there are some video's. also some guy is doing podcasts http://blogs.chron.com/fantasyfootball/

they really dont make this stuff easy to find.

by the way next time everyone leaves the mb and starts a new one you could let me know.:secret:

Thanks for posting...

He has some really interesting tid bits in his pod cast..

I especially like the news about Mario...

My impressions from this morning's practice...got there about 15 min. after start. ....and before someone else calls a chicken little, I DO realize it's only day 2 of TC.

1. Chad Stanley had best step it up or Matt Turk will be our starter. There was NO COMPARISON between the ball height (in really heavy air) achieved. Turk was absolutely booming the ball & getting better hang-time kick after kick.

2. Schaub seems to have a tendency to throw 'downhill'. On his short to mid routes, almost all were being caugh below the #'s. I could be mistaken, but that's what it looked like Kubiak was 'counseling' him on at one point.

3. Babin got absolutely BLOWN off the LoS more than once by 2nd & 3rd stringers, I couldn't tell if it was just technique, strength or what.

4. Travis Johnson is still marching to the beat of a completely different band. You look up & see 50-60 guys all in shorts & there's one lone black sheep in sweatpants...guess who? The entire defensive unit breaks and heads off to the left. One lone guy heads off to the right, mixing it up with the Offensive groups awaiting their rotation...guess who again? He looks like he's there to go through the motions.

All good stuff disaacks3 ! That's what we like, up close and personal candid takes on what you saw.
Yea TJ is a head scatcher and sometimes you really wonder if Capers wasn't
trying to sabotage the Texans with some of his picks.
What else ? Anymore thoughts on what you saw today ?

You must spread some reputation around before...

OK ... this is what stuck out to me .

Mario ... if he decides to dominate he will . He's strong , agile , and big . He's 280 and still could walk down the beach shirtless ... and be proud .

QBs ... they did fine , at least Sage and Schaub . The thing I noticed was their play action and selling it on every play . I bit a couple of times from the bleachers ... I think the little things make a QB and selling your fakes is important .

Their throwing was good , Sage threw deep for some completions but also had some pics . Schaub ran a couple of TE screens in which Mario got in his face as he turned around , Matt put a touch pass about an inch over his fingers to the TE .... even though he was rushed ... he made a decent play . I think both QBs could lead the team .

Jacoby Jones ... I liked him , he's tall , athletic , and has quick feet to accelerate out of his cuts . He needs to stay away from reverses .

DTs ... Okoye and Maddux play with much more energy than TJ ... at least in the 11 vs 11 drills . I think he'll get cut .

Fred Bennett ... made some good plays .

Spencer ... walks without a limp , which I thought that was good .

Turk ... our nrw punter .

Texans Chick ... I met the one and only TC .

I wish I was at last years or even previous tcs to compare tempo , coaching and other stuff .

Good job of giving us a snapshot of important details.

TJ is surely an introverted personality...hanging out by himself, unable to stay in a group for long (I'm introverted, I should know).

Thanks for the update.

Turk doing better than Stanley? What's next, Mathis tweaks a hammy?

TJ is anything but introverted. He's quite an engaging personality. Outgoing and funny.

This is just a comment on his off the field personality. I'd like him to play up to his ability on the field.

I think you need to sit down and council TJ then .

I tend to agree with this statement. Don't know him well enough to say for sure, but from what I've seen, he doesn't seem to be too much of a loner.

Hardly.

Anyway, given the chance what could anyone tell him that would make a difference at this point? He knows what is required.

Football requires much more than physical ability. Brains to understand the game, attitude to make maximum use of abilities, health...the list goes on. A player has to have it all. TJ may be the anti-poster child of attitude, Mathis for health.

Add coaching, teammates, and intangibles and it is tough to excel at that level.

I think TJ was the highest rated DL coming out of high school his senior year ... maybe it was to easy ... then everybody caught him .

Good descriptions all, I can smell the grass, and see the plays in my mind....kudos to you guys who attended coming back and informing we who reside in HELL....All I got on the news today was Skeletor smiling broadly as the masses of SA fans kissed his butt....sickening.
