I hope not.
We already lack a second rounder next year and I'd hate to give up yet another pick.
Unless the plan is to risk a third or lower on someone and supplement with a UFA signing next year with all that cap space. But you can't predict UFA status accurately a year before it happens either.
I prefer them to stay out of it, although we are in the first group.

The selection order of this draft will be determined by a weighted lottery, with each team's chances based on the order in which they were slotted in the April draft. However, only those clubs that finished the 2006 season with six or fewer victories will have an opportunity to win the No. 1 selection in the supplemental draft namely, Oakland, Detroit, Cleveland, Tampa Bay, Arizona, Washington, Minnesota, Houston and Miami.
Each round of the seven-round draft will last 10 minutes, with all 32 teams having a concurrent 10-minute limit to decide whether they want to choose a player in that round. The draft will last until seven rounds are completed or all players are drafted, whichever occurs first.
A team that selects a player will forfeit its pick in the corresponding round of the April 2008 draft. It can choose a player only if it has a pick available in that same round of the 2008 draft, as of the start of the supplemental draft.
If more than one team notifies the league that it wants to select a player in a given round, whichever of those teams is highest in the draft order for that round will be awarded the player.

would Gaither be available come 3rd Round? I would have no problem with them selecting Gaither with our 3rd Round. We would still have our 1st Round pick so the first day wouldnt be a complete wash.
We could even trade down into the early 2nd round to a team that wants to move up like Cleveland did this year. A good deal would be to trade our 1st Round pick for a 2nd round pick, a 5th rounder, and a 1st round pick the following year. Similar to what the Cowboys did this year. We would still get a quality player in the early 2nd Round and will have gotten Gaither via supplemental and then you would have 2 1st Rounders in the 2009 draft.

Anyone know what time it takes place and where to go to see the results???
I believe it starts at Noon central. I'm sure NFL.com will have the results when it is completed later this afternoon, but other sites (nfldraftcountdown or profootballtalk) may have preliminary results sooner.
