More love for Dunta...

From NFL.com's Pete Prisco... http://www.sportsline.com/nfl/story/8050353/1

Defensive rookie of the year: Dunta Robinson, CB, Texans. This is the next great corner in this league. He should be on his way to the Pro Bowl as a rookie. That's how well he has played. Runners-up: Madieu Williams, S, Bengals; Jonathan Vilma, LB, Jets; D.J. Williams, L
B, Denver Broncos; Erik Coleman, S, Jets.

Love how Dunta is getting some well deserved love from the press.

But hate seeing how Steve Foley made one of the best off-season aquisitions.*cringes*

Who decides, who the ROY will be? If it is fans, Duntae doesn't have a chance, but if its sports analysts and coaches etc.... I think his chances are pretty good.

NFL.com also has a Poll asking which rookie defender has been most impressive this season and Duntae is in third place behind Vilma and Sean Taylor. Houston doesn't get enough press, bottom line. Otherwise i believe he would have made it to the probowl.

The Pepsi ROY is decided by the fans. That is the one Davis won last year. The AP decides the DROY and OROY (Suggs and Boldin). D-Rob has no chance to win the Pepsi one because Big Ben will take that, but it does look like he will win the AP one...

Guys most of you know hes a great corner you should be happy he is not well noticed , then he can strike next year , and no one would have seen it coming expect few reports and the texans fan , trust me he is miles about Chump Baily and Chris McCalister , who goto the Pro Bowl , because of name and the team they are on ...

The people on NFL.com are hateing on Dunta. Look at the poll at the bottom of the page. NFL.com

Jonathan Vilma: Its a given he's leading...New York has a lot of followers.
Sean Taylor: Really hasn't impressed me too much this season..I think people are only voting on the name.
Dunta Robinson: Guaranteed to win over the AP vote.

talking about D.J. Williams

He leads the team in tackles (109) and is in line to become the first rookie to finish first for Denver since 1972. Last week, he shined in the spotlight on Christmas night against Tennessee and became the first rookie this season to be named the AFC's defensive player of the week.

There's one more award out there -- NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year. His main competition appears to be coming from linebacker Jonathan Vilma of the New York Jets, who also left Miami after last season.

i guess not everyone is giving agrees with us, but all of us here know the truth. dunta is defensive rookie of the year!

Here's a good writeup on Dunta from profootballweekly.com:

Rookie CB Dunta Robinson was not voted into the Pro Bowl despite a remarkable first-year campaign during which he has become better and better each game. Robinson already has a ball-hawking reputation, as evidenced by the half-dozen interceptions he’s snatched. But now he’s becoming a major factor on blitzes. Heading into Week 16, Robinson was the only player to sack Colts QB Peyton Manning twice in the same game this season. (That distinction went down the tubes last week when Steve Foley sacked Manning three times in the Chargers’ 34-31 ovetime loss at Indy.) Robinson has earned a reputation as Houston’s surest tackler, and with his speed and aggressive nature, he is a tremendous weapon for defensive coordinator Vic Fangio. The Texans have played some of their best football this season when the defense has taken chances, and some have wondered why Fangio doesn’t blitz more often. Houston’s youth on defense, we’re told, probably works against sustained aggressiveness. Ultimately, the Texans would like to be able to get a consistent rush without sending extra attackers. “That’s the next step for our defense: being able to get that pressure from the outside linebackers on call,” MLB Jamie Sharper said last week. “Not just having to blitz every time, but them doing a four-man rush and being able to get pressure.” In the meantime, opposing quarterbacks had better keep an eye out for Robinson — the cornerback and the pass rusher.

Robinson got some love from Shannon Sharpe... and Shannon said quoting here "My boy has the inside track at (defensive) rookie of the year". .. soo good .. i had to post it twice...
