Trung Canidate was cut today i was thinking we bring him in as a KR and have him and holling :fight: for the #2 spot and if davis goes down go Rb by comite and he will probly sign for cheap seing he is a draft bust.

Canidate would be a nice pick up especially if you are looking to upgrade the quality depth at RB. He is a good receiver out of the back field.

Wasn't he a 1st round pick at one time? That is hard to believe.
Just goes to reinforce what we all know about the talent in the NFL...highly touted draft picks for a variety of reasons aren't the lock that we think they are and it goes to show how deep the talent pool in the NFL actually is.

One thing about Trung...he is still a pretty good athlete but he just doesn't have the physicality to be a goto workhorse back. He is a pretty legit as a change of pace or passing situation RB and that's about it. I think we have some pretty good options at RB with DD and Hollings so it will probably be unlikely at best that we would give him a sniff.

He would be a good pickup and then maybe we could release Wells. That guy was crying about getting drafted in the 4th round. He should have went in the 7th . DD was a 4th rounder and Wells cant hold a candle to him. But Candidate would give us a lot of versatility at RB.

DD and Hollings are both small shifty runners with good pass catching ability...sounds a lot like Trung. Not sure how much versatility he would add to that stable. If he was a bruiser that could pancake a linebacker or get go for the tough inside yards I would tend to agree with you. The power roll was why we picked up Wells, it would make sense to go for a complimentary skill set to go with DD and Hollings. I think that we will see Jarrod Baxter will start filling the short yardage role this year based on the need for a power inside runner.

What I ment was that DD is a balanced back he runs more inside than outside becaue of his average speed, Hollings is a burner, he will probabbly get more of the outside runs. Trung would add versatility too. Because DD is our 1st string back and if he goes down you still have a back that can catch out of the bacfield, maybe that doesnt make sense now that I really read what I said but whatever. :bag: Versatile or not, good combonation of backs, fun to watch.

Canidate is one of the fastest RBs in the league, he just can't break tackles and runs into his blockers. He would be a good backup.

I would think we would look at him, but I have a feeling that he wouldnt' want to come here, esp to be a backup. I know that he has to prove himself to become a starter wherever he goes, but I am thinking that he would look to try to make the odds in his favor to start for a team instead of one that has DD and Tony Hollings already here. But hey if he is willing to try here, I wouldn't object.

Well, I heard that Trung couldn't hold onto a ball. So I guess that puts an end to this rumor, because I'm sure we all know that Capers hates to have fumblers at the RB position.

Yeah...speaking of fumbling RBs, what ever happened to Mack? Did he catch on anywhere?

Canidate would probably have more FB's than Tiki if he had the same number of carries. The guy just doesn't hold onto the ball well.

Trung has 4 fumbles (3 lost) in 272 career touches. DD has 4 fumbles (3 lost) in 285 career touches. I don't think that has been Trung's main problem. His inability to run inside and inconsistent hands out of the backfield are the reasons the Rams and Skins have lost interest in him. Running a fast 40 time is worthless if you don't develop football skills.

I met Trung's mother two years ago at a birthday party in Arizona. Funny, she had been a lifelong 49er fan and we were joking about what if he would become a 49er, and of course I, expressed what if he would become a Cowboy. Now if he were to become a Texan, that would be ok with me, as well.

One element that went into the Washington Redskins' decision to release tailback Trung Canidate, only a year after acquiring him in a trade, is that the team fears he will need foot surgery to repair an injury that slowed him in 2003. The main reason Canidate was lopped, of course, is that he isn't the kind of power back coach Joe Gibbs favors. But some 'Skins officials are whispering to teams seemingly interested in adding Canidate as a backup that he may not be ready to play for a while.
