edge is only sweet because of the threat Peyton manning brings to the line. you play the run, you get burned on the pass. you play the pass, you get burned on the run. take peyton manning away, and edge is just another 4 ypc guy

Just because you are #1 in stats does not mean neccessarily mean you are the best player at that position. A lot of RB's have missed several games this season due to injury and other reasons. You also forget the clots have one of the better O lines in the NFL. Look at the stats that the Chiefs and Broncos RB's put up this season. Are they all top 15 RB's in the NFL?

Well why dont you cry about it?

First off, this is OUR opinion of the top 15 RB's in the league. If you want Edge to be #1 then make your own list. Just be glad you have a top 10 runningback.

Well he is a rookie, and hasnt even played a full season. He does have a bright future with the cowboys, and im sure he will be on these list with a few more years of good solid play, which I expect from him.

Since Week 10

Julius Jones - 597 yards, 6 TDs
Kevin Jones - 530 yards, 3 TDs

Not that I think either of the Jones' don't belong in the the top 15 (or maybe both belong out of the top 15). Just thought it odd that Kevin made his list based on that criteria while Julius was left off.

Maybe because it's 630 yards , not 530 :rofl:

The only stat JJ is doing better in is TD"s

Kevin Jones is also tied for 2nd in the league behind Shaun Alexander with for runs +20

2nd in the league among starting runningbacks in Yards Per Carry.

Then i take into account, that as KJ has exploded in the NFL, he has been running against stacked defense because no team respects Joey Harrington who can't even throw on 8 in the box. Say what you will about the dallas passing game. They will throw the ball, and can move the chains doing so. Detroit Can't. We are talking Kyle Boller bad.


But this isn't going to take us anywhere, it's not really even a contest.

If KJ plays the entire year next year, He will have at the least 1400 yards. ( think he is capable of 1600 personally, but I am going to be modest and say 1400.)

I will bet my avatar on that. (and as some of you know, I only bet on sure things ^_-, how is that lions avatar treating you fellas btw?)

W. Green has nothing lost in that Top 15, and although i could make a point for Duckett, Dunn or any other RB who is job sharing, it's tough to compare them to that bunch of guys above.

If you average them out over the games they've actually played:

Julius - 24 carries, 102 yards, 1 TD
Kevin - 15 carries, 72 yards, 1 TD every 3 games

But don't worry. Most of us in Texas are pulling for the Lions. Well, those of us who can get past the Harrington/Carr debate. With so many Longhorns playing for Detroit, we can't help but pull for them.

I think we're all past the Harrington/Carr debate. When Ihategeeks is coming in here and saying that Harrington sucks and Carr's the better QB the debate seems over.

I don't really agree with him though. I think Harrington's just going to take a little longer to work out than initially expected.

125 yards By KJ today , 4.9 a carry 25 carries, 1 TD, 2 runs plus 20 (now alone for 2nd place in this stat) 119 yards per game the last 7 games

KJ needs 130 yard to reach 1200 for the season. ( a shame he wasn't healthy in the first half of the year , he is on a pace right now that would have been for 1900 yards)

Kevin Jones still tied for 2nd place in the NFL yards per carry.

4 100+ yard games, and one for 99

And he is still just a Rookie that didn't get any significant playing time until week 9 he didn't reach 200 attempts until this last game. He is only 81 yards behind Ahman Green and 5th in the NFC for Rushing Yards. He has one of the 5 worst passing games in the NFL.

He has the perfect blend of size speed and moves (he did a double spin in this last game that you make your jaw drop) for a running back, he can block the heck out of defensive lineman.
He is now waiting for his blocks to develop where before he would try to break things outside. His vison has improved 10 fold, as he now makes Priest Holmes like choices on which holes to hit. He also runs with power, he rarely will go down on the first hit, and to arm tackle is an excersize in futility. I have seen him drag 3 guys 10 yards, or push 5 guys 2 yards before forward progress. Move so pretty and power so shocking, it brings tears to my eyes.


Only fault in his game so far is he is below average in the passing game. Only has 2 fumbles so far.


I am not just being a homer when I talk about Jones. This kid has "IT" Not oh he'll have a good NFL career "IT" I mean potential top 3 for 10 years maybe a shot at 2000 yards chasing Smith right now already "IT"

It's hard to compare him to any other RB, he looks like a combination of Fred Taylor and Preist Holmes, with a dash of Edge James.

If he can stay Healthy, he is going to tear this league apart. I haven't been this excited about a lions RB since Barry.

The fact that he made the probowl as an alternate on a terrible team should show you how much respect opposing players and coaches have for him. I doubt most fans even know who he is.

He could walk on water, it wouldn't surprise me. He nearly does it every week.

Yeah every week it becomes a little more evident what the real problem is

Our WR's EVEN ROY(3 today, each very easy good leads very open in the hands) , can not catch.

6 drops i think, 3 others that hit guys in the hands that weren't counted as drops, most of which were easy balls. 2 that I thought could have gone for TD's, others for 1st downs, or big plays. All of them easy.....

I just can't blame Joey, our guys are dropping more balls than the seahawks now. Last week the WR's played like regular NFL wr's and only dropped a couple balls. This week was more of the same. (WR's includes the drop prone TE's as well)

Lions need Charles Rogers back, he could catch. Our passing game really needs a dependable target..... dependable in the rare moments of health.

Joey despite the stat sheet, only had 5 bad passes.

1 really bad Pick 6 when he pulled a tom brady because the LB was in the backfield before he even got the snap. 1 batted ball, 2 checkdowns that he could have waited longer on that were complete, and 1 ball that got away. The rest were on target. 25 on target passes out of 30, only 15 of which were caught.
 
I wish they would have gotten stone hands in week 2

I think we're kind of spoiled in Houston when it comes to receivers because it's kind of become expected that our WRs will catch the ball everytime its thrown to them. All our guys have good hands.

Well, except for Bradford now and then.
 
I think Harrington's production will increase significantly if Jones, Rogers and Williams stay healthy.
 
You knows who's consistently looked great to me, and has been rated IMO too low on most these lists... Shaun Alexander of the Seahawks, he always has good if not great games

This year alone:

1. Martin - more dimensional than Alexander. May not have as many TDs, but has more yards receiving to where he is a major threat out of the backfield. his ball control is better than Alexander's, and he can block if he has to.

2. Barber - on any other team, Tiki would have been the best in the league. even on the giants, he totaled over 2,100 yards combined and was their whole offense. had I not been a jet fan, i may have been tempted to put him over martin. but i am a jet fan.

5. Dillon

6. Vick - had it not been for 16 fumbles, vick would have been a lot higher. he didnt get the 1,000 yards mark, but he did have 7 and a half yards per carry! i don't see any running back being close to this. he may not be dimensional in the way of martin or tiki with rushing, receiving, and blocking, but he is dimensional in his own way - this running back can pass, something most backs can't do (see: lamont jordan) he totaled a whopping 2,300 yards passing. although it is below par for quarterbacks, it is an absolutely amazing stat for a running back

10. McGahee
 
neither Staley or Bettis made your list.. and they probably have the best rushing game in the league right now.
