Dunta's played well, but if he doesn't make the Pro Bowl it will be far from a snub. He's a rookie and plays in a secondary that his given up the most passing TD's in the NFL.

looks like we're losing to the fan fav. who hasn't done nothing the entire year Eli didn't even throw for 200 yards. I h8 New York they get way to much publicity but hey what you gonna do.

BUMP

Agreed. But it is still too much of a pop contest - people like Manning & Freeney with the Colts are certainly deserving, but not others like Urlacher &
Lynch. Urlacher has been injured a big part of the year and hasn't played and
Lynch is just over the hill.

abraham is still getting more AFC DE votes than freeney? wow.

It will be a snub if dunta doesn't get in as far as I'm concerned. What corners deserve it over him? mccalister (embarassed by marvin) law (hasn't played) bailey (haha, owned by c. johnson, e. kennison, and j. porter) woodson (maybe, but hasn't done too much) surtain and madison (solid years)

dunta should have a chance, but because of the NFL hype machine, he won't make it

A Couple of things jump out from the list. First, DRob is the ONLY defensive rookie on the list. Only one CB in the regular list (Champ Baily) and they need 4 I think. Where is AJ?

the CB vote is going to be a popular vote, and dunta will lose

Freeney not being top vote getter on defense overall is ridiculous

He made one of the best LT's ever look stupid on sunday

a lot of people outside of houston are just starting to find out about him. i didn't expect him to make this year even with his numbers, but he should be their next.

Question; Isn't Champ Bailey the guy who's been pretty much punked regularly this season? Just curious because I know for a fact that at least three times this season I've read a piece about him being lit up by somebody, gone after by somebody instead of thrown away from, etc;

If in fact Bailey is having as down a season as I've been led to believe, and if he's the leading cornerback vote getter at this point, then I don't think that this system is particularly accurate.

Yeah, how did Bailey get in??? He was torched repeatedly on national television...

yeah the pro bowl is suppose to be the best players, but it is also the players that fans want to see, that is why we get a vote i.e. that is why vince carter is in every nba all-star game. is that right no it probably isn't, but the average football fan thinks that champ is the champ of old.

Well Dunta is certainly getting props from his teammates and Capers:

HOUSTON (AP) -- Gary Walker had a point to make, so he stuck his head into the crowd of reporters surrounding rookie cornerback Dunta Robinson and loudly interrupted the chatter.

``Send that man to the Pro Bowl,'' Walker said, not the least bit playfully.

Robinson grinned, then seized upon the chance to bolster his fledgling campaign for inclusion in the NFL's all-star game.

``Dunta Robinson needs to be in the Pro Bowl. I mean, what else can I do?'' Robinson said Sunday after coming up with a handful of big plays in the Houston Texans' 24-5 win over Chicago.

He needs to cut out referring to himself in the 3rd person though.

Yeah, that's a bit too close to sounding like the guy in the beer commercials. You know the ones where this one egotistical, self centered player blames everyone for his shortcomings. Not that Dunta does that, just that the whole third-person thing sounds just like the way this guy talks.

Ohhh, as soon as I start giving dunta some props, dunta goes off talking about how dunta needs to be in the probowl, dunta.

I hate the third person thing and the self promotion. So what he doesn't go one year, this guy is a star, and he will make it in the future

I think he was joking about it. In the times I've talked with him, he's always been just a happy guy that feels he's blessed to be where he is.

Dunta, did not go out and make it a public issue as someone said earlier Gary Walker brung it up not him. All he said was "why argue with them. What more can i do. Vote for Dunta." It's not like when TO went out and self promoted himself at a press conference saying go to terellowens.com

Speaking of websites. It seems David Carr is into PC services on the side. Check it out @ http://www.davidcarr.com

P.S. I know its not our Carr....

Texans | Fast Fact: Dunta Robinson - from www.KFFL.com
Tue, 21 Dec 2004 19:32:57 -0800

Houston Texans CB Dunta Robinson is the only NFL player with at least six interceptions and three sacks this season, reports HoustonTexans.com.

not sure if anyone pays attention to the CBS Sportsline player rankings but dunta finally passed up ed reed as the TOP defensive back according to them.

Rookie D-Rob bright spot for Texans

493042.jpg
Dunta Robinson

He's had a terrific run in the last three weeks to help him overtake Ed Reed in the top spot in the latest rankings. He has three sacks, two interceptions and two forced fumbles.

is this important? i dunno but i like the love they are giving him compared to everyone else

hey, grid says that dunta robinson needs to go to the pro bowl, and grid also said that grid is just fine with talking in the third person. but grid also thinks that if dunta turns into an egomaniac there are plenty of people on grid's team.. i mean the texans.. that will kick dunta back into line.

as gifted as Dunta is, this fact should not discount'ed - the value of having a mentor like Aaron Glenn. Dunta had the physical skills that was apparent in the beginning of the year but to be able to play the mind game in the NFL at the level he has arisen to a significant amount of credit has to go to Glenn. Glenn is an assest both on and off the field and I feel he's had more than a little something to do with Dunta's transformation into possibly the finest corner in the game in such a short span of time.

the game this weekend against J-ville will go a long way to cement Dunta's rookie season in the NFL. The Texans will be facing one of the brightest, strongest armed QB's in all the NFL in Leftwich and I'm sorry but Jimmy Smith does not get enough respect he is truely a great, clever & talented WR. This will be a true test of Duntas skill and Aarons mentoring.
