Playing in bad weather

A lot of positives should come from this win today. I think the Texans defense
were tired of losing and bit down hard today. No question that Babin was a great choice and that DROB should have considerable looks at being a Rookie Defensive player of the year with a sack and pick in this game.

And Carr playing in that kind of weather slinging it out to the recievers does a lot for his confidence, yet some poeple will still get on him for not throwing a TD instead of a 69-yarder??? 20 degree weather with the wind and I am satisfied, no elated, on him going over 200 yards. Good to see him spot others recievers instead of AJ all the time.

That 69 yard pass was on Gaffney, he just downright got caught by Jerry Azumah i think it was Gaffney aint exactly the fastest WR on our team. He has more than a few steps on Jerry.

I actually thought gaffney was loafing after he caught the pass, like he thought he already had six. Even after watching the replay, I was wondering if he pulled something. It's discouraging to think that he's that slow.

I wondered if it was weather related. Gaffney just stopped running and after the play, it looked like when someone came over to congratulate him, he couldn't breathe (cold air?).

he's not the smartest player, remember when he felt he had that TD when he switched hands? He's an ok reciever but don't count on him game in and game out.

Just looked like he was gased to me. He had been all over the field previously and the cold on top of it.

BUENO!
Breathing hard, sucking that ice cold air. I can't say I really have a complaint with Gaffney on that play. Hey, it got us down there and helped prevent the Texans patented "Second Half Momentum Change" from happening so it's all good.

If Bradford had caught that it would have been a TD though. Same I believe with AJ. Gaffney's not the speed guy. He's fast enough for what he does.

Beating the Cover 2
It didn't seem the Bears were in Cover 2 much. They brought the SS up in the 3rd quarter to stop the run. They blitzed a lot more than the Texans are used to facing and the Texans finally saw some man coverage. If the Bears had ever grabbed a lead, the Texans would have seen much more Cover 2.

We didn't play very well in the first quarter, but started to pick it up in Q2 and drove them into the dirt in Q4. Q3 resembled Q1 a bit. We just can't put 4 good quarters of play together. Until we are able to do it consistantly we will always be just a hairs breath from losing. Today was a good win for the team in less that ideal conditions, but we didn't beat a very good team.

They defenitely played more man to man in certain situations. The Texans knew this coming in and I think that's why we saw some big hookups.

A nice win today. They didn't play as well as I would have liked to see them play, but I'm sure the elements had a lot to do with that. It's good to see them winning the games that they should win. Defense is the only reason the Texans won today though. They have to do something, anything, to actually get the offense working. It was terrible today. Carr really looked tenative with his delivery the whole game, but he did preform well given the weather. In my mind, I'm wondering if he has an injury that they have not disclosed, like was suggested earlier this week. If he does, I hope they don't push him too hard and cause a worse injury. Next week will be tough. The Jags took care of Green Bay at their house, so they will be much better then they were earlier this season.

I dont understand why they would hold something like that back, i think he's just been a little worn down over time. Everytime you look up he's running away from an D-Lineman and he takes some nasty hits. We've got to do something in the off-season to get Carr more time in the pocket, and when that happens expect the texans to take off. Even if he was hurt Tony Banks is an above average backup and i wouldn't mind if he filled in while Carr was nursing an injury.
