What a difference a week makes.

Wow folks, just think about where we were a week ago and where we are now.

The FO has moved aggressivly. I think that there are good things in store for this team in the next couple of years.

I for one am really upbeat about the Schuab trade. I think he has great potential and a thirst to prove himself.

Cutting DC and DW surprised me, but I think it was the right thing to do. Rick Smith is like a scythe cutting down everything in his path.

I have sort of hung back all week looking at the board and I have observed that people are finally excited about the franchise again. Even those who hate the last few moves want to see what will happen.

What a great time to be a Texan. :elmo:

It has been a wild week.

After the Texans didn't make a huge splash during that first day or two of free agency, I think most of us were expecting a dull off-season.

But now the Texans have a new starting QB, a new starting RB, and have upgraded the depth at a few positions.

It's a pretty exciting time.

The Texans have improved more then I thought they would be able to this off season.

I knew we would have a new starting QB but the Texans were never considered in the running for Schaub, so the options looked much more limited.

Some folks might not like the Green deal. First of all it wasn't as pricey as it seems. I recall this is not baseball so the player rarely gets the full contract always touted in the press (only the guaranteed money is absolute). Secondly it gives the Texans flexibility on when they want to draft a new RB. They didn't want to be forced to take a RB in the 1st round this year and now they don't have to.

If you recall last year they waited to get RB until after it was too late. The same is true for their OL. They got vet back up that will not stink up the joint, but it does not force them to have to use their 1st pick on a OL either or count on Spencer starting.

I think Smith needs to get a bit of a break from fans here. He has not picked and signed a Toni Bocelli yet. So far Kubiak and Smith have found way more gems then busts (and even the busts were either left overs from Casserly or were off the street fill ins on the cheap).

Considering the Texans have had to do all this with a pathetic cap space this year is really astounding what has been accomplished. Kub and SMith could not possibly dig the team out of the massive hole Casserly and Capers dug in one year. I am rather impressed how much garbage was taken out and replaced with more competent blood (on the cheap) in the matter of one year.

Now next year, next year I can not even fathom, when the Texans will have 35-50 million in cap space to actually sign top talent young starters.

I may start crying real tears of joy if, after this great offseason, I see Charles Spencer mauling DEs in August. That's when I'll know we're in for a great season.

Signed Barber. Also extended Andre Johnson.

other than schaub and green these aren't real blockbuster acquisitions like the ones the redskins make, but they are the type that winning teams make. these are all solid players and veterans, and none too expensive either.

Schaub seems pretty good to me, although I still think we should go after Quinn. I like what I have seen of him, and with our current O line, we need someone mobile.

You aren't serious, are you?

That is insane. In. Sane.

I am with you, we need to draft someone that we truly need like a FS, DT, or CB. We don't need another 1st round QB with a huge contract that won't even ever play for us. We are fine with Sage and Schaub.

He's from Canadia, so give him a break y'all. :this:

I honestly am excited for what is in store for the Texans. I think we'll turn some heads. I love that we've added veteran leadership and got rid of a garbage QB. We still have some guys to draft as well so I'm feeling pretty positive about what we'll do next season, much more so than ever before.
