Dwayne Jarrett

Does anyone think trading down to maybe 16, and getting a extra pick that maybe we should pick him up? He's got some size 6-5 and can make some excellent catches. So what do yall think?

Bowe played at LSU.

I think they should grab Jarrett at 10. Not that it really matters what Kiper says but he has Jarrett 11 on the big board.

I think Jarrett would make an excellent #2 pick. I think he also wouldn't be much of a reach at the #10 spot and it is likely that if the Texans stay where they are, he is one of the two - three players they are looking at, especially since they haven't answered the #2 receiver question yet.

Bowe's from LSU.

i seriously doubt the texans are staying at the 10th spot...i see a lot of teams calling us on draft day for a trade to get ahead of buffalo for marshawn lynch

Agreed. They have to try to get another pick somewhere. If they were to go down and if Jarrett was still available, he'd be a good nab.

He would definitely be a good pick up, but I question whether he will be accepting of a #2 role. He left early, so he would be picked early and become a #1 WR for some team. We may encounter some problems with that.

Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin are confused by your question...

i don't think there would be any problems with him coming here being the #2 guy...remember with andre johnson here anyone even randy moss would have to accept the role because andre is just that freakin awesome...as soon as fat head comes out with an andre johnson fat head i'm pre-ordering it...haha

trade down get the number 2 guy whether it's a corner or a reciever is the best idea going into the draft...number 2 reciever is my choice sense i think getting cj gaddis from clemson in round 4 who held calvin johnson to no catches this season is the best option at corner past round three

AJ is hitting his prime and on his streak. Anybody who lines up with him for the next four or five years is going to be the number 2 receiver. The problem is getting a credible threat in that #2 receiver, a reason for the defense to not double- and triple-team AJ.

I don't want to have anything to do with Jarrett at 10 or in the 1st rd for thaty matter. After running a 4.7 40 I would like to stay away. Besides we can find a guy later in the draft, even on the 2nd day. For every Andre Johnson there are 5 Freddie Mitchell's. There are guys that come thru the later rounds every year. It is not even a stretch to think that we can get a very quality #2 WR in the 4th or later.

Jarrett would do well for himself to go somewhere with an established #1 like AJ. I think there are legitimate concerns about Jarrett's speed, thus his ability to carry a receiving corps. Right now, he seems more like a really lethal #2 that gives you plays on third downs, in the red zone, etc.

He may be productive enough to be a guy like Boldin or Ward who's a top notch WR without top notch speed... but Boldin and Ward are extremely intense converted QBs. They make their living off of toughness and effort on every down, that's not Jarrett's MO. I guess there's Michael Irvin out there, a similarly productive, big guy who always made plays.

I'm on the record as liking Jarrett a lot... but his lack of speed is something he may have to adjust to and compensate for at the next level. If he's hungry, he can be a star.

One final point of consideration is that he's only 20 years old. Everybody talks about Okoye and how he'll grow into himself, but Jarrett's only 9 months older. From that perspective, I wouldn't freak out about his 40 time... he's not finished maturing physically yet, and these tools were certainly good enough to dominate a secondary with Huff, 2 Griffins, and Aaron Ross as a 19 yr. old.

Oh yeah, didn't he just eat up Leon Hall in his last game... 11 catches for 205 yds, 2 TDs. 10-120 2006 Rose Bowl. Catch vs. ND. He's starting to look like a steal.

I think he'd make a good number two...

But I still don't want him...Not when this draft is so deep at reciever...

I'm really hoping we go defense in the first...more specifically FS...even more specifically, Reggie Nelson....

IMO Texans shouldn't take any receivers in the 1st round. They are plenty of receivers with good combine numbers that will be available in the 3rd and 4th round that will come cheap and be a good compliment for Andre Johnson.

I'm pulling for Jason Hill. He runs just as fast as Calvin Johnson, can make good catches and comes cheaper at the 3rd or 4th round.

If Landry, Nelson, Okoye, or any good defensive player is available at the 10 spot, then the Texans should take them.

no, he wasn't matched up against hall in that game.
He torched him at least once:

"Jarrett saved his best for the fourth quarter. Michigan had closed the lead to 19-11 with a snappy eight-play, 80-yard drive. On third-and-10 from the USC 38, Jarrett simply sprinted past Hall and safety Willis Barringer. He caught a strike from Booty near the Michigan 25, slipped out of a diving Hall's desperate grasp and glided into the end zone for a 62-yard touchdown."

I would love to see Landry fall to us at #10 & then hope that Jason Hill falls to us in the 3rd.

That would take care of both problems.
