Sigh...

We have people here that cant stand for Carr to start another year for the Texans. Others who believe this is his come out year. Some believe he will be with us one more year, and still others believe he will be gone any minute now. :wild:

Now, We havent even drafted Quinn and we already have Quinn being bashed before he have done anything for us, or has the possibility to do anything. :wild:

If Carr stays, then he stays. I wont like it, and I wont think it is a good move for both him and us, but if he is a Texan at the start of season, so be it. If he goes, then he goes. Either way, I am a FAN of the Texans!

We have a new FO and they seem to have been doing a decent job last year, and this so far. Oh, if you wanna comment on, 'What about Bush or Lienert, or Young.' THEY ARE NOT ON OUR TEAM! MOVE ON FROM IT! I dont care if you thought it was the worst decision in football or a saving grace. We did what we did, and we have what we have at the moment. Our goal was to win more games then the year before. We increased our win by four. As long as we continue to improve, without signing stupid contracts for horrible players at large contracts, I am happy.

Lets give the FO the benefit of the doubt that they are going to do what is best for the team, no matter what it is. :redtowel:

On last thing, has anyone read the boards and threads lately and think people here are just flinging poo at each other like apes? Man, I know a bunch of you are passionate for your positions, but wow, can we tone it down a notch? :wild: At times reading some posts around here, I swear I am back in high school. He said , but you said, but he called you. Enough.. I mean seriously.. Lets keep the personal insults down, and lets talk like we have more educated fans, not like fans of other clubs we know.

I've been a member for quite some time now. I spend a lot of time in this message forum. Why have I not contributed until now? You guys have pretty much said it all. I just don't have the information that some of you guys are getting. I guess it's probably because this board is definitely extremely intimidating. It's powerfully intimitating for an 'official' fan forum. Am I fanatical? Heck yes! If not more than your 'average' fanatic.

I come here for so much information so I can report or talk about the Houston Texans on another message board alas this board is a general sports board run by a great close knit group. After a long while of being a member, I noticed that our core started to treat each other as buddies and I saw a lack of focus on the sports issue on hand starting to treat each other as how I'd talk to my circle of friends. That's what I've noticed happening on this board. You guys are getting too 'comfortable' with each other that the outsiders are sitting outside watching in. Thus disrespecting each other all the time. Yeah, you guys know what you're saying to each other and know you're kidding and all that but to the outsider sees people being disrespected for saying something on a message board.

I absolutely consider this board to be extremely professional and worthy of the being THE Houston Texans official message board. Just starting to lose focus a little bit as of late. Went from intimidating to absolutely terrifying. I know football fans are rabid. Heck, I'm rabid but I'm not rude. I'm absolutely sure I'm going to get wasted with this post by your guys but my 'outsider voice' wanted to chime in and commend Dime for stepping up. My post count may not earn me respect but I'm a member of this forum anyway you look at it. I also contribute by voting in polls. Think of it as you guys being the television stars and I'm the person watching TV.

Things should tone down after the draft, once a decision at QB has been "made". This place might seem like a mad house right now but its better than the summertime coma that it drops into.

Always good to see a new poster come out of the shadows though...welcome aboard.

eh...I agree with pretty much all of that. Except the personal insults part :D..sometimes ya just gotta throw out a good flame :D..it lets off steam ya know. Hehe

...a board is a board for crying out loud...politicians (even pres candidates) sling more junk than is slung here...do I like everything I read here, no...but I can leave when ever I want without trying to enforce my opinions on others...posters that sling personal insults should be dealt with by the mods

Eh, with their past.........:wheel:

I'm giving Smith the benefit of the doubt. Can't wait for the draft.

I'd rather the boards be active than dead. A lot of spirit this year. Maybe because we're hoping to finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.

It's kind of like Politics. If you're for one guy, you bash the other with everything you have and then go "LALALALALA" any time something good is said.

Your take is noted, but your title says it all, "Tired of it." Everyone is tired of it by way of the volume in different outlets and the front office is reacting.

I do not see that many insults except for from a couple of consistent posters who have a history. We delete most of the personal attacks, let some breathe for a while so that other member's can see the true colors of those outliers and understand this is a cyclical thing. Everyone has the ability of choice on this board to who they read and what threads they read.

The culture of the Texans is about to change.

I'm going to disagree just because I see alot more football related posts regarding this whole adventure than personal attacks. The attacks do stand out though and it seems to be a small group. For the most part though, I don't find comfort in berating the other side. I think everyone has the same goal and there are many posters on both sides who can express their view passionately without the insults...some just haven't seen the light..lol..:)

Dime, did you you come up with the slinging poo thing yourself or are you reading "Next"? I get a little tired of some of the player bashing I see on here. Sometimes I comment on it, sometimes I just shake my head and ask WTF??? I've checked out other teams MB's, and this one is, IMHO, the best one out there. I also think "personal insults" are dealt with very professionally by the mods. I've been on the receiving end of a couple of their PMs and they always get their point across.

Very well put. We all need to be fans of our Texans whether they win or lose. They are our home team like it or not. I am proud to be a Texan Fan.

Tired of it is a point of view, so that makes it reciprocal. Correct? The same reason you are tired of everything that goes on this board some are tired of comments like yours. It's give and take. That's the way it is. I'm not knocking you for it but you can't make a comment about complaining by complaining.

So you are complaining that I am complaining about complaining.. rofl. You proved my point for me. Thank you.

Actually, the Discovery channel helped me with the slinging poo visual, but it fits when you see some threads around here. Also, I didnt say the Mods dont do thier job, but I feel people are taking out thier frustation out in or on the wrong people.

I tend to agree with Dime though. We're all just fans and whether we really want to admit it or not..our football knowledge is extremely limited to that of our coaches. We have the luxury of sitting here and complaining on a message board because we know better and we monday morning QB it all the time. but i guess that's my opinion so i could be wrong too.

The offseason is long and people are getting tired of us being in the same place. so many people want us to be winners overnight..but most of us know that it just isn't that easy...and that it takes time.

The personal attacks are usually unwarranted...people are just so enamored by a player that they will do all to defend him. Even if they have never seen him play..or seen very little. A lot of people on here base their opinions on a player by what others on here say...and think of it as fact..that's when rumors start to spread and it ends up that they are faulting a player for something he excels at or is better than the other prospects in his respective position. People get upset and attack the other person...which is very intimidating...or rather shows a lot of man hood insulting someone on an internet chat site...pretty funny imo. Keep it to football...if we're talking about the texans keep to them..

and lastly Keep in mind that any thread...let me rephrase that...EVERY thread can and will be turned into a david Carr thread...love him or hate him.. .it's quite humorous but half of these threads never get finished or anwered to the full extent they should because it turns into david sucks and should leave or david should stay...and then we get tired of talking about that because there are 100 others and the thread gets burried behind 3 pages of Carr's traded!!! just kidding....or i heard a rumor from my maid's ex husbands current girlfriends nephew that we are trading carr and our 2nd round pick straight up to Tennessee for VY....

which bring me to my actual last thing to add.. Not only will every thread turn into a carr thread..but a Vince and Reggie thread and about how smart/dumb we were last year.....see i just mentioned them and nobody even wanted to know! my bad!

Anyways...go texans!! i love what we're doing and am really looking forward to our quarterback issue one way or another and the 2007 nfl draft!!! hope we continue a good FA and have another awesome draft.

Texans make wildcard in 2008 season!!!

Things can get a little pointed and heated on the board especially on the Carr threads, people start calling people out and that sort of thing which isn't always pleasant to read.

I think that on the whole though, we argue football issues, with football related arguments and everyone sees things a little different so there will be disagreements, it is just how we express these things that needs to be kept in mind.

I know for myself I have been turned off participating in the BullPen till the Carr thing is finalised one way or another, which is why I find the peace and quiet of the draft forum so pleasant, till the Quinn threads started...

If you are sick of the Carr threads come join the discussion (hopefully more reasonable and much more speculative) in the draft area.

I'll go with that. The Michael Crighton book "Next" is a good read, though. HEY!!! I broke 1,000!!! Wish I'd said something better for that post!!!

On another note. "Dime"...that's a name I haven't seen in awhile, I wonder what happened to that guy.

Reworded for your enjoyment. Seems that things go in cycles round-a-bout these parts.

Deja Moo all over again! lol :turtle:
