Hey guys, new to the boards.

Just wondering, whats the likely-hood that we will pick Kevin Kolb? And if we do...where do you think he would land?

And if you dont mind, this is my mock draft for the Texans for their top 4 spots.

1. Levi Brown
2. Brandon Meriweather / Anthony Gonzalez

(I dunno if Meriweather would drop this far, but we need help in the secondary, if he doesnt, Dre' needs help on the other side so Gonzalez would definitely help)

3. Kevin Kolb
4. **DT or OT
(if we get a 4th for Williams)4. **DT or OT

and i say that if we are thinking about cutting Dominick Williams anyways, I say we shop him a little for maybe a late 4th round pick? maybe even a 5th rounder...I dunno how much he is worth, so if he isn't even worth anything I guess letting him go would be the best bet.

I would love to see Brady Quinn, here instead of Kolb, and Carr go to the Buccs and Plummer come here, but....that is just wishful thinking.

**I'm not sure of some names here, just naming what we might look for.

Not real sure where Kolb is gonna go. I'd say 2nd, 3rd, or 4th rd for sure. Most likely early 3rd...but thats just speculation on my part.

I don't see Carr going to the bucs. W/ Garcia and Plummer and Simms and Grakowski sp? Plummer seems pretty set on retiring. I think he'll go through with it...and if he ever decides to play again it may be next year or so...nothing anytime soon. I also don't think the bucs would want to pay carr's salary on top of the other guys.

Welcome to the boards...you're mock doesn't look bad at all...sure would help the team!

Welcome to your new home, bud. I'm quite new at posting, too.

I'd pick him up 2nd. Just to make sure he stays in Houston.

Based upon his injury and his rehab, I say Williams is bearly worth a 5th or 6th rounder.

I mean, if the Bucs got Plummer for a 4th round pick...

welcome, if we try to trade williams, we will get squat... nobody will give us any type of compensation for a player that missed 1.5 seasons with a knee injury and he still is not healty.

Oh yea I completely forgot to say anything about Domanick. IMO...he's done. I don't see any team trading for him period. 31 other teams should know we are going to release him...if for anything cap purposes. If we don't...they will say...man something must be in the water in houston...they are nuts. When we do release Domanick...I doubt any team picks him up. If and thats a big IF they do...his contract will HAVE to be structured in a way where he only gets paid if he plays....he's gotta have more surgery and that still may not be the end.

Doesn't the team pay for the surgery since it's football related? If so, are we paying for it....and if another team signs him they may pay for his surgery..but i bet we would anyways.

Sad to say it but I don't think Domanick will ever see the field again..at least suited up.

Yes indeed DD/DW is done.

As for Kolb if we grabbed him in the 2nd I would take everything nice I ever said about Rick Smith back..... unless he comes in starts and leads our team to the promised land and exposes me for the know nothing that I truly am.

I like where you draft was heading although I am not a Levi Brown at #8 fan at the moment... realistically I would go Quinn, Landry or Okoye.

John mcClain you ol dog, 1st VY is your mancrush, but now see you have a new one for 2007 Kevin Kolb...I bet we see McClain with a new mancrush in 2008

I'm starting to get the feeling that Kevin Kolb could go in the 2nd round and that the Texans might reach for him there. If he grades out decently, I wouldn't totally be opposed to that. I'd love to pick up Trent Green and groom Kolb behind him and Rosenfels.

I think with the 8th pick they should either trade up for Joe Thomas or draft LaRon Landry or maybe Levi Brown (although I'm not totally sold on him)

I really was debating between Landry and Brown on first pick...and honestly if Quinn is passed up by both the Lions and Minnesota I would believe Smith and Kubiak would grab him up quick.

But heres a thought that just ran through my mind....(but again probably wont happen)...

what if the draft went like this.

1. JaMarcus Russel
2. Brady Quinn (they blow the whole NFL away with this pick)
3. Adrian Peterson
4. Calvin Johnson
5. Jamal Anderson
6. Alan Branch
7. Teddy Ginn Jr (im gonna say they pick up, because of the bust in Williamson)
8. JOE THOMAS....

i just thought that if the Lions picked Quinn, and the Browns baisically set on picking Peterson, Joe Thomas MIGHT fall to us, but I could be wrong as the Cards actually might be looking to beef up their O-Line from the Leo-Davis loss
-----
ok so after that little rant...ill get back to the point.

I agree with you, Landry would be a great pick up here, and if avaliable I would pick him possibly instead of Brown, but i really think we need a better LT, and we can pick up a FS/SS type in the 2nd rounds in Meriweather

I believe the Cards would take Joe Thomas if he fell to them. But I also think Levi Brown would be a better RT for them than getting Thomas for LT.

If Quinn falls to us , I can't see us taking someone else.

as far as kolb in the 2nd...Smith has said he's going to take bpa..and i would feel pretty sure they have other people rated higher than quinn...someone is going to fall to us in the 2nd that probably could have gone 1st rd.

kubiak has also said that this draft if very deep with oline talent. it would surprise me if he took brown in the 1st...i think they'd have some defensive guys rated higher...someone like branch maybe.

Anthony Gonzales is a nice pick...under the radar on most mock's I've seen from Houston fans, but he could be a great complement to Andre for a long time.
