Domanick needs another operation?

The 'not expected to return'-bit is news to me...

Well, not really, I never thought he would ever return...

Yeah, I pretty much felt that he wasn't going to return either, but this is the first time I've seen it publicly.

Its been reported by John McClain since last week that the Texans would cut Williams, because his knee would not get healthy. It wasn't a question of, if it would happen, more like when it would happen.

Yeah but the same has been said about Carr, and we have been beating that dead horse for a couple of months now. :deadhorse

I remember it was reported last year that DD/DW suffers from a hereditary degenerative knee disease in which the knee cartilage essentially disintegrates. It was reported as “bone on bone” last year…

This is no mystery.

What is the mystery is why they didn't settle his contract LAST YEAR so to clear more money for FA's. Damn FO blew it again...

From the "Unofficial Cap " Sticky here are DD/DW's numbers:

2007 Williams, Domanick 2009 $3,340,000 $1,300,000 $4,640,000

2008 Williams, Domanick 2009 $4,180,000 $1,300,000 $5,480,000

Imagine what we could have done with that money...

Well, being since you are the one that turned a "Domanick needs operation" into another Carr thread, I'll stick my nose into it and really muck it up.

There is not a question of when David Carr gets cut. Not even close to it. If they cut him, then they are admitting they made a big mistake of extending him, and not drafting who klnow who. I can't see them doing that. They are not going to be able to trade him. Even if there is interest amongst other GMs, according to McClain, his contract is a deal killer.

They'll have to keep him, because that is the least of the bad options. Sorry to ruin your day.

Hey, they can blame the "mistake" of giving the extension for Carr on Charley the GM Clown..

He is the cause of 90% of this teams problems anyway...

Yeah, I have been very aware of his knee but I didn't know he needed another operation? Last I've been hearing was that he is/has been working out and not once did I hear that he was due another operation.

I think this "operation" may be a knee replacement, but that is just speculation. There is not much you can repair with surgery, unless its clean out scar tissue.

I've been saying since last June that DW would not return. I've personally experienced a similar cartilage degeneration in both my knees and I can promise you there is no coming back from that and playing friggin professional football.

I wish DW nothing but the best and expect him to be cut before the season starts.

The Green deal looks better now. Just cut him it's hard to say that because lets face it he put this offense on his shoulders when he played and it cost him his knee and playing career. I say good luck to him but this team has past him by.

I don't think you can just cut a hurt player. They will need to come to some sort of buyout thing I think before DD/DW rides off into the sunset.

After reading the A. Green interview I am incuraged to that the one thing he said was that he does not like seeing his QB on the ground and that ,although not perfect, he WILL pick up 99% of the blitzes. Now that is something NO-ONE else on this team has said. He has, before he has even played a down, showed more concern for what the QB has been going through and stated a responsability to correct that problem with an intensity that makes makes me believe in him. Not even our coaches have said they would do this much to protect the QB, I see Sherman, Not Kubiak, as the push for this move, and please sign Leech, and the GB influence which gave up less then 20 sacks while these two were there, will bring us closer to all the QB answers.

gets cut? What are the salary cap implications? Will he get an injury settlement from the team? Will that, in any way, count against our cap numbers? I tell you what, football is starting to turn into a sport for all the bean counters out there! LOL

I could of sworn he was given the ok to play last year by doctor's, and that it was his choice not to. If that's true the Texans should be able to cut him.
