Quinn Makes Bad Decision

Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn faxed letters to the league office for distribution to all 32 teams telling them he will be unavailable for interviews the weekend of his pro day.

not a good decision at ALL.

Exactly why wont he be?

i thought he was looking to move UP in the draft. seems like he is doing all he can to drop.

The further he drops, the better the team will be that he lands on. I remember another young QB that teams passed on and he became an all Pro and a stand up kind of guy for the young to model after... DM

OR...

In other words I have a deal worked out to go to a team that picks later in the draft and I don't want you 0'fer teams drafting me and messing up my plans... :doot:

good point, he is trying to pick his team. but from a :money: viewpoint must be among the top 3 picks Raiders/Detroit/Cleveland. notice the Browns are hitting the defensive market hard in FA setting up the plot to take Brady if the top 2 two teams seem soured on him (for any reason) he might even throw his Pro Day for emphasis :throwball:

My guess..

He was available for interviews at the combine.

Maybe Quinn felt that if he were high on anyones list they would have arranged an interview at that time idonno:

Quinn will get his ...:money:..whether he interviews or not.

All a coach has to do is interview Weis if they have questions about Quinn.

I would have bet my first born that Quinn would have ended up in Dallas somehow if Parcell were still there...I would have hated that.

JMHO

Exactly. Quinn's agent, Tom Condon, is notorious for making draft deals (Eli to the Giants). He likely has a promise for Quinn somewhere in the top 4. It's a common practice in the NBA draft, where a player gets a promise from a team and refuses to workout for anyone else.

Good for him.

He doesn't want to end up at dead end franchises like Oakland or Detroit. I don't blame him. Smart.

yep, classic posturing and a sign of previous negotiations....something is up for sure. Someone may have a trade up deal worked out right now.

Maybe I misunderstood Kasts post.

I read it to mean that Quinn wasn't going to interview, not that he wouldn't work out on his pro day at ND.

Cleveland or Detroit??? Heck...Tampa Bay's been shopping for QB's.

It could be a team trading up to Detroit or Tampa Bay. I still think the Browns are Quinn's team. You've heard just about every top prospect linked to the Browns at some point. The owner says he likes Russell. Joe Thomas would soldify the left side. Peterson could be the next great Browns RB. Nothing on Brady Quinn. "Brady Quinn? Was he that Notre Dame QB? He's in this draft?" Their silence speaks volumes.

They'd be my second favorite team if they got Quinn and as a result, we got Adrian Peterson.

well ya'll can chose to read into this or not but it's been reported on nfl.com that during notre dame's pro day today that gary kubiak was listed as one of the head coaches there watching...i don't think he was there to watch walker or harris either

Perhaps the thought of playing for a winning team is more important than money to Brady Quinn. Maybe he'd rather go to a team like Carolina and be the heir apparent to Delhomme.
