More Likely To Happen....

Which scenario do you think is most likely? Rather, which would you like to see happen?

Draft Kolb, let him sit under DC
Draft Kolb, let him sit under Jake Plummer
Draft Kolb, let him sit under Sage Rosenfels

Most likely I think is:

We draft Kolb and he sits for a year or two behind both Plummer and Sage (Kolb, or whichever QB we draft if his name isn't Russell or Quinn better not be the 2nd string QB)

Cutting Moulds (and the others) indicates the team is fixing the cap long-term, not just short term. Based on that, Carr and Domanick are probably next on the list. It won't help a lot this year - but next year we will have mega cap space.

So, I predict Draftee (Kolb/Quinn/etc.) behind Sage (or possibly Plummer - but Denver thinks there is a market so this might cost too much).

I'm soooooo pissed with the decision to retain Carr last year this time. what was Kubiak thinking? what role did Casserly/McNair have in the process? not only did they resign him to a three year extension, but his contract lacked incentives and was way too much :money:

I have no confidence with the QB desicion making of this orgainization, so I really don't/can't care anymore. just focus & build the lines :bowser:

our the last option,

We avoid kolb, because he sucks. He couldn't do crap in the c-usa.... but for some reason people think he will make damage in the nfl? Everyone is all big on the hometown hero crap... I would rather blinns qb...at least they won a national championship...

uh he did quite a bit in the c-usa. but who cares about facts.

If we start Sage for a full season, we'll have a great shot at landing the top pick in the 2008 draft. Who do we take then?

Dave Ragone was awesome. I mean, never got a chance in the pros, but anyone who can take their NFL Europe team to the World Bowl deserves a shot in the pros. I think Houston gave up on that C-USA prospect too soon.

That's kinda my thinking. Draft Kolb if he's there in the 3rd. NOT 2nd. Cut Carr and let kolb sit under Sage Rosenfels all year.

Then with the 1st pick in the 2008 nfl draft we can select Brian Brohm out of louisville.

Actually he got two shots. Once with us and once with the rams, who spent a pick to get him. The other fact that seems to get thrown out the window...the first guy cut by Kubiak was Ragone. I can't find an ounce of difference between the two. Maybe it was a function of over rating DC. If Ragone wasn't good enough then, why would he be good enough now ?

That's what I keep thinking, but I can't stand another season like that. Just think about how long it seemed from our 4-3 record in year 3 until the first win in year 5. What was that, like 6 years?

If we draft a QB I hope its Stanton not Kolb.

Choosing between Rosenfels, Carr and Plummer....Carr unless Jake comes here for a decent price. Either way...the oline neeeds to be adressed reguardless of who starts.

hey made easy I played at blinn in 04, 05 we didnt win national but we were pretty good. 11-2

What do people see in Kolb other than he played for UH, maybe you were to busy watching bevo to watch a UH game. with limited play makers around Kolb he did very well and put up great numbers.

30 td and 4 int with 33 sacks. I am sure some of the sacks were him holding on to the ball to long or trying to make plays but at least he did not throw it to the other team. UH did not have any real threats at WR, there best WR is only 5'8". 3 out of 4 yrs with 60% completetion % and 3 out of 4 years with over 3k yards passing and only one year with double digit Ints.

Ok he was not super human at the senior bowl but I dod not take much stock in that because you have one week to learn the offense and the players. He is impressed the scouts at the combine so that has moved his stock up.

Being a huge ND fan I love BQ, but I also am wise enough to know the Texans need so much help I would rather draft Levi in the first and Kolb in the second. There are so many first round bust in the NFL that it just seems the money would be best served to draft a QB in the second. No I am not saying Russell or Quinn will be a bust.

So I would do ...

OL in first
QB in second if Kolb is there
DB in the third
WR in the fourth (or best player available)

I do not have a problem reaching on a player if it fills a need and it is not a huge reach.

Ok how do you say he impressed scouts at the combine? he went into the combine at possibly the #3 QB. Now he is #5. I wouldnt call that stock rising. Ofcourse if you just listen to houston radio or news sure they will say the scouts were inpressed bc the man played for HOUSTON!!!! Now go to espn or any of the major sporting networks and it kinda like KK who? So I ask again why do you want us to draft Kolb?????

If they pick the guy in the third, Kubiak likes the heck out of him and all of that...why not ? Maybe Kubiak can coach the lad up. I won't be holding my breath that's for sure. I like Beck and Straton better. But I could live with the Kolb pick.. I'm just not thrilled over spending a day one pick on a guy who'll be the gopher for two years. God forbid the injury bug hits the QBs this year and we have to go with him for ten or twelve games next season like we did with Salaam over Spencer last year. I'm wondering what all the Kolb guys will say then ? I'm not ainti Kolb as was mentioned befor. I'm not contray out of hand. I think he would be a very good prospect...and I've posted this numerous times....on a vertical passing team. We don't do that. I have nothing against kolb. It's all about his skill set with me. And picking a back up QB too early. That's my bottom line.
