Down To Ten

Good. 5 more to get rid of. Those are Simmons, Wong, Stanley, Evans and Carr.

I have a feeling that out of that bunch, Evans will still be around. Jason probably has the next best chance followed by Carr, Chad, and Kailee rounding out the bottom.

Kub has gotta clean house big time if he wants to turn this team into a SB caliber club. We're NOT going to the Super Bowl as long as CC Brown and Glenn Earl are starring in our secondary.

Agreed, but CC and Glen are not members of the original roster.

Stud Matt Stevens was a fan favorite around here from the original roster.:gun:

Only 2 names on there I would like to see on the team next year. Pitts and Faggins.

I would have no problem with Evans being on the roster next year. Solid special teamer and an solid back-up. He his a hustler who just does what the team needs him to do.

Down to only ten players from the original 2002 team roster. Players left are:

Kris Brown
David Carr
Troy Evans
Demarcus Faggins
Steve McKinney
Chester Pitts
Chad Stanley
Fred Weary
Kailee Wong
Jason Simmons

With the list above, we may be down to 5 before the June cuts.

Over/Under line on how many make the '07 opening dar roster: 3.5

I'm taking the under.

Well, that original team was built with a lot of fanfare. They did well with what resources they had.

It's a shame that the original Texans team was build with youth only. The management stayed away from players who were over 30 years old because they wanted to build a lasting foundation.

I think everyone in the organization has recognized that was a MISTAKE!!

5 years into the franchise only 10 guys remain. I'm betting if the Texans would have selected the best players regardless of age in the Expansion draft, it's a possibility that a "Core" could have been established.

On the positive note: the Texans are doing well under the salary cap. So, they still have manuverability to improve the team.
