If I'm not mistaken I think I heard that Steve McKinney will be released on T.V yesterday.

Can anyone confirm this ?

Dolphins | McKinney expected to be released
Tue, 27 Feb 2007 09:33:59 -0800

Alex Marvez, of the Sun-Sentinel, reports the Miami Dolphins are likely to release OG Seth McKinney by the end of the week, according to sources.

I looked on the internet and I couldn't find anything...

I was just wondering if anyone else had heard anything about it ?

thank god... this guy is an *****... i remember a few seasons ago on 610 this fool was preaching how the texans o-line was top 10 in the nfl...

I heard they were going to move him back to center this year.

That wouldn't surprise.... Flannagan is not necessarily the answer. But then again, is Drew Hodgdon??

I like the fact that McKinney be a "swing" guy at center and guard - as a back-up, but I just don't think he is a starter anymore.

Hate to say it but Mckinney was by far the best center on the team last year. Unless we sign a FA or draft a top notch center, it would make zero sense to relesase him. I highly doubt the veracity of this report. Most likely, they just heard Mckinney, and assumed it was Steve when it is Seth.

Wonder if the Texans might have an interest in Seth??

That's what happened...

My bad...

Steve is going nowhere as we have no back up. Flannagan may not make team and Hodgdon has not worked out. Seth is a possibility @ center but I did not follow him last year. Didn't he get hurt? Steve played center but only for a few games as I recall and was hurt himself.

he finished out the season for us and he is one of the reasons we finially were able to do the shot gun which I think helped a bunch.

Seth had a broken neck, surgery etc. I wonder about his outlook. Being cut for cap reasons or because of injury....I suspect a little of both.

wasn't steve fairly decent at center?:doot:

Only if the definition of a fairly decent center includes an utter inability to hold up against the most trivial rush and a pocket that collapses from the inside faster than it does from the edges despite the fact that you have no tackles worth mentioning.

In that case then Steve was a fairly decent center.

Last year in limited action he only appeared that way because he played very few reps, the (backup) tackles were getting abused on a regular basis and our other options at the time were even worse than he was. He also played late in the year and benefited from the improved running game.

Steve McKinney should have been the fourth player let go today. That's been a long time coming.

Don't hold back any, Herv...tell us how ya really feel!!!! I couldn't agree more, though.

He has value...keep him. He did a good job at the end of the season.. Once we moved him to center at the end of hte season, we had great rushing games, and went 2-0...

I agree. I guess the "Doot Doot" smilie didn't properly justify my sarcasm...

Did the run improve after or before Steves switch/ Maybe he's good at run blocking? maybe not?
