When did we become the Houston BRONCOS?

Don't get me wrong I really do like the broncos. Wonderful team and all that but quite honestly I want Houston to have its own identity. I feel like all we keep doing at this point is going out and bringing in old bronco hats.

I quite frankly don't want Plummer. I'm still pissed about the TE we wasted money on bringing him over (not that it was a total waste).

I'd just like to see Kubes form his own twist for Houston and this team.

Let's just not do everything b/c that's what they did in Denver. If you love AP draft AP damn it. Just do something copycat. Denver is a great organization and i want to take as many positive things from them as possible given our own state of affairs at the moment just bring in some Texas Two-step as well.

Maybe its late and I'm being a bit menstral as my ex-boo use to say.

You are being menstrual foster. If you would rather see us have our own identity thats one thing, but plummer gets rid of FREAKING CARR. We gotta suck it up and do this.

If I leave my company for a promotion, I'm going to try to convince my favorite employees to join me at my new company. Similar situation here.

i am still trying to figure out how "being like the broncos" is a bad thing. they have been one of the most successful franchises over the past 15 years and went to the AFC Championship Game last year with Plummer as their QB. other than some, who have tunnel vision or tenntennococcus, and think that getting rid of #8 will cure all our ills, i tend to think this thing will take 2-3 years, (required improvements iin o-line, secondary, etc.) 2006 included. taking the Denver blueprint and copying it a little cant be so bad. making the playoffs nine times (three times with plummer 2003-05, i guess that's not good enough) over the last 15 years would be palatable to most i'm sure.

Those of you who are Plummer fans might not remember Jake Plummer when he was with Arizona. He was a run for your life, swivell headed QB who made way too many bad decisions and actually cost Arizona several games with his play. Sure he was exciting, but all the nail biting was about how bad he was going to dig the Cards in a whole. He had a terrible o-line( just like the Texans) which the Cards still haven't addressed, and just like Carr, he wasn't and still isn't the kind of QB that can put a team on his back and carry that team. He is at best a QB that can sometimes manage a game, but as Denver has discovered since day one, usually reverts back to bad habits and helps them snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
Don't make the mistake of thinking that he, as QB has LEAD denver to the play-offs. It has been good Defense, and great O-line play and good RB play thae has done that. I promise all of you, Plummer is not an improvement over the Current QB. And I am not someone who thinks any old body as long as it's not Carr will do. I want a real improvement, a winner, not another reclaimation project. Plummer ain't it.

didnt that swivel head lead the cardinals to a playoff appearance and win on the road? hasnt that swivel head been to the playoffs almost half the time (4/9 years) he has been in the league? he might not deserve all the credit, but give him at least some due. the guy knows the system, the coaches, and has alot of playoff experience. what am i not getting here?

so if not plummer, who? jeff garcia, damon huard?

Yeah, but he led that terrible Cards team to the playoffs and won a game. That is more than any QB on our team can say.

I couldn't have said it better myself.

I do, however, like the idea of trading our #8 pick for Plummer, Bell, and an early round pick. Sounds like a horrible idea on the surface, but you gotta think salary cap here. It will save us a LOT of money, give us a solid QB to move forward with for the next couple of years, and buy us some time to find a young QB for Kubiak to groom. I hope there is some substance to this rumor and not just a possible smokescreen.

to model yourself into the broncos is a good thing... I would love to talk about playoffs every year wouldnt you

That's what I hate about some of the coaches, they think if a player didn't play for them he isn't worth having.

The Texans do have an identity as the biggest losers in the NFL. Might as well model ourselves out of one of the most consistently good teams in the NFL.

I'd rather keep David Carr that acquire that inconsistent bum Jake Plummer. :thumbdown

So if Jake is an inconsistent bum, then what is David?? A younger, even less consistent bum??

Look, I don't want Jake here either, but to say that he isn't any better than Carr is just stupid. Kinda like tearing down the last QB we tried to tell this franchise to grab a hold of when we had a chance. & you see how that turned out.

We'll be fine without Jake, we don't need him. But he is definitely an improvement over Carr. & I can see Kubiak guaranteeing a play off spot to McNair if we pull the trigger.

I'm not saying I believe it. I'm not saying you have to believe it. But I don't see McNair letting Carr go for anything other than getting Plummer, because it should be an easy sell for Kubiak. & judging from the last thing I heard McNair say, he has already bought it.

Now, about this Houston Broncos crap. We've got as many ex-dolphins & ex-Packers on this team as we have Broncos.

Consistancy WILL belong to the Texans....................in a couple more years.

And further more, by then, the Denver pipeline will have shut down.

I'd rather have an inconsistent QB that can actually complete intermediate range passes than a QB that can't read defenses and can't hit a middle read to save his life. For half a decade we have watched a QB that makes slow decisions, sacks himself and can't complete a pass up the field on a regular basis. Inconsistent is better than incompetent. If we had an inconsistent QB last year we are a .500 team.....but we had incompetence....so we have another top 10 pick instead.

Yes we have as many packers, Dolphins, as broncos. But they are all the rejects from their team.Or something that their old coach thought they could build on, most of them havent proved anything exept they can take up roster space. I wouldnt mind having a team like the broncos, winning, playoff runs you know that would be great, but I think we should do our own thing. Everyone in America thinks of us as broncos JV. Its just depressing and it makes us look bad. Get our own players not ones that they cut.JIMO
