Dream O or Dream D?

This is just for fun, and i know with the salary cap, this isnt very realistic, but say it was: Which would you rather the texans stack this offeseason. The offense or defense? Making it look something like this:

Dream Offense:
QB: David Carr (no one say anything about qb please... thats not the point of the topic I am just inserting him in here)
RB: Peterson with Daynes Williams Taylor Lundy as backups.
FB: Leach
WR: Andre Johnson
WR: Eric Moulds
3WR: Robert Meachem (Rookie, Tenn.)
TE: Owen Daniels
LT: Tony Ugoh
LG: Chester Pitts
C: Fred Weary
RG: Charles Spencer/Winston
RT Ryan Harris/ Winston

Dream Defense:
DE: Mario Williams
DT: Terdell Sands
DT: Alan Branch
DE: Anthony Weaver
OLB: Lavar Arrington
MLB: Demeco Ryans
OLB: Rufus Alexander
CB: Dunta Robinson
CB: Nate Clements
FS: Brandon Merriweather
SS: Michael Lewis

You team up either the dream d or dream o, with last years reg. o or reg d, which one u think puts us in a better position to win?

Texan dream O:

QB: Sage
RB: Taylor
WR: Johnson
WR: Moulds
TE: Daniels
LT: Spencer
LG: Pitts
C: Ryan Kalil
RG: Weary
RT: Winston

Texans dream D:

LE: Jarvis Moss
DT: Johnson
DT: Weaver
RE: Mario
WLB: Greenwood
MLB: Meco
SLB: Rufus Alexander
CB: Robinson
CB: Nate Clements
SS: Earl
FS: Reggie Nelson

If the Texans fielded this team next year it'd be a dream....

P.S. Please spare me with the old "no it'd be a nightmare" line ....

I think they should build towards developing a "dream" offense because it lacks less components. Also, a "dream" offense would do a lot to show that David Carr either had the tools or didn't have the tools. So I say the Dream O you created has a better chance. Here's my build:

With Sherman at the helm,

QB: Carr/Plummer
RB: Ahman Green/Dayne
FB: Leach
WRs: AJ, Moulds, Walters/Mathis
T: Levi Brown
G: Pitts
C: Ryan Kalil
G: Winston/Weary
T: Spencer/Winston

That makes RB and QB the emphasis of the FA signings and makes the first and second round picks lineman who can have an instant impact. It surrounds Carr with veteran leadership, good runners, and a line that can hold.

Whether they go for Dream D or Dream O, I think the Texans need to build with their strengths, rather than address weaknesses. The Texans have plenty of excellent players at one position in one area. For example, Mario Williams on the defensive line or Dunta Robinson in the defensive secondary. The Texans need to add a second exemplary player to make the Duntas and Marios more of a credible threat. Meaning the opposing team doesn't just say, "pass away from Dunta" or "double-team Mario." The best example is how adding Moulds has amplified AJ's game.

I definitely would go Dream D.... I like Royalty's D with the exception being Greenwood. I don't have anything against the guy, but I think we could upgrade from there.

Defense: (you said dream)

DE:Mario Williams
DT:Alan Branch
DT:Amobi Okoye
DE: Jamaal Anderson

OLB:Patrick Willis
MLB: Demeco Ryans
OLB: Lance Briggs

CB: Dunta Robinson
CB:Chris Houston
FS:LaRon Landry
SS:Glenn Earl

6 Rookies, 1 free agent, 4 Texans.

And then I'd have Jerome Mathis and Ted Ginn Jr. as a duel threat on both punts and kick offs!

Dreaming is nice but reality is what we are having to deal with !!
Does anyone have an up date on Spencer? Will he be ready for the season or not.... If not then will Zack Weigert be ready to play again? These are the questions we need to ask, as they will decide what positions are occupied by who!!!!!!!!!

Regardless of Spencer's status, I am sure Winston will have a starting position in the lineup. The only question is whether he plays guard or tackle.

That's what this thread is about. not all threads have to be serious.....in my dream yes spencer is 110% better

Defense: (you said dream)

DE:Mario Williams
DT:Alan Branch
DT:Amobi Okoye
DE: Jamaal Anderson

OLB:Patrick Willis
MLB: Demeco Ryans
OLB: Lance Briggs

CB: Dunta Robinson

FS:LaRon Landry

Sweet lineup Ole Miss, really sweet!

Dream Offense
Qb - Sage Rosenfels / Kevin Kolb (UofH)
HB - Adrian Peterson (OU) / Chris Taylor / Ron Dayne
FB - Leach / Cook
WR - Johnson, Moulds and Mathis
TE - Owen Daniels / Martez Miner (UGA)

DE - Mario Williams / LaMarr Woodley (Mich) / ?Babin or Peek?
DT - Travis Johnson / Anthony Weaver / Kareem Brown (UMiami)
OLB - Morlon Greenwood / Lance Briggs (FA - CHI) / Earl Everett (FLA)
ILB - DeMeco Ryans / Dedrick Harrington (Mizzu)
CB - Dunta Robinson / Nate Clements (FA - BUF) / Demarcus Faggins
FS - Michael Griffin (UTexas) / C.C. Brown
SS - Glenn Earl / Aaron Rouse (VTech)

not too sure about you but i'd rather not see cook at FB ever again not after the two loses we had b/c of him last year

Sorry to shatter some of your dreams, but Sands just signed a new contract with the Raiders, and Briggs and Samuels were just "franchised" by their teams. I know, what a bummer! :thumbdown

My Dream Offense For now.

QB: Jamarcus Russell(1st) Somehow, he slips to us.

RB: Michael Bush(2nd) Maybe, he'll make it to us in the second round.

FB: Vonta Leach Hands down.

WR: AJ, Paul Williams(3rd), Mathis(slot) Finally some speed to compliment AJ.

TE: Owen Daniels

LT: Charles Spencer I'm dreaming he's 100% healthy.

LG: Chester Pitts

C: Samson Satele(4th) Big & strong, with a nasty demeanor.

RG: Eric Steinbach(FA) Here's hoping he can switch to RG.

RT: Eric Winston With a year under his belt, he should shine next year.

1 FA, 4 Draft Picks, 1 Fully Recovered LT (Spencer), & a whole lotta' luck.

My Dream Defense See Dream Offense.

LDE: Anthony Weaver

LDT: Amobi Okoye(1st) This kid's potential has me drooling.

RDT: Anthony Maddox He earned his keep last year.

RDE: Mario Williams Can't wait to see this kid fully healed next year. Don't we play Reggie Bush next year? Hehe.

LOLB: Jon Beason(2nd) Sounds like another DeMeco to me.

MLB: DeMeco Ryans

ROLB: Adalius Thomas(FA) Can he be as effective in a 4-3 as he was in a 3-4?

LCB: Dunta Robinson

RCB: Nate Clements(FA) I really wanted Asante Samuel, but NE had to mess it up for me. I now hate them. Here's to hoping that Nate will give us a hometown discount of some sort.

FS: Brandon Meriweather(3rd from Oakland for Carr) If he can get his head on straight, he'll be an outstanding FS.

SS: Aaron Rouse(3rd) A SS with a mean streak. Just what we need.

2 FA's & 4 Draft Picks

Hmmm........., it'd sure be tough for me to decide which way to go first. Offense sells tickets, while defense wins championships.

Here's my dream scenerios. Although I could go nuts over possibilities, I'm going to make this as realistic as possible...I'm assuming that AP isn't available on draft day...

Scenerio A (Spencer is not healed)

Offense:
QB: Plummer/Kolb(3rd. Rd.)
RB: Lorenzo Booker(4th Rd.)/Ron Dayne/Chris Taylor/DW
FB: Vonta Leach
WR: Andre Johnson
WR: Eric Moulds
3WR: Robert Meachem (3rd Rd. from Carr trade)
TE: Owen Daniels
LT: Levi Brown (1st Rd.)
LG: Chester Pitts
C: Steve McKinney
RG: Fred Weary
RT: Eric Winston

Defense:
DE: Mario Williams
DT: Travis Johnson
DT: Kareem Brown (if available 5th Rd. Miami) or Anthony Maddox
DE: Anthony Weaver
OLB: Kawika Mitchell (via FA from KC)
MLB: Demeco Ryans
OLB: Rufus Alexander (2nd Rd. Oklahoma)
CB: Dunta Robinson
CB: Aaron Ross (if available in Rd. 4 Texas) or Chris Houston (4th Rd. Arkansas)
FS: Glenn Earl (moved due to aquisition of Lewis) or Michael Griffin (5th Rd. Texas)
SS: Michael Lewis (via FA from Philly)

So, Houston goes with OT Levi Brown to secure Plummer's blindside as the first pick.

Scenerio B (Spencer is healed)

Houston gets some good news....Spencer is healed and ready to come back to LT. Houston then uses #8 pick on one of these four players, based on availablity, in order.

1. Jamaal Anderson DE Arkansas
2. Alan Branch DT Michigan
3. Laron Landry S LSU
4. Reggie Nelson S Florida

Coach Kubiak made it a point to pressure the QB next year, so I would go for picks 1 and 2, preferably Anderson so we could move Weaver to DT.

Texans dream D:

LE: Jarvis Moss
DT: Johnson
DT: Weaver
RE: Mario
WLB: Greenwood
MLB: Meco
SLB: Rufus Alexander
CB: Robinson
CB: Nate Clements
SS: Earl
FS: Reggie Nelson

I'm definitely going to take this dream D. Defense will help us to compete, especially in our division.
