The Sean Taylor hit at the Pro Bowl

Would be like playing a game of friendly touch wih your friends in the local park, and then someone goes postal and cuts a knee out on some poor sap going out for a pass!

Word to Sean Taylor...it's only a freaking exhibition!

I didn't like that hit at all. Its a freaking exhibition game, that means nothing. Anyways I can listen to the japenese all day. Reminds me of MXC

C'mon!

So if some coach had called an all out blitz on (insert your favorite QB here) and the players would have obeyed and the end result would have been a career ending injury, would you have still said "it's football"???

99% of those guys were going at 25-50% and Taylor's 'roids decided to kick in at the wrong time.

The fact Moorman jumped up almost faster then Taylor did was pretty funny though. And any game where they have so many restrictions on what can be done (no blitz, no rushing field goals, no zone) is not really a game. The only reason I watched was to see AJ and switch the channel when the NFC had the ball.

Moorman is a gamer, this guy did the skills challenge at the Pro-Bowl last year, he competed in the open field and NFL's fastest man challenge. He represented himself well in both.

If anybody here has ever watched Taylor play he goes after everybody the same way, whether it is a punter in the Pro Bowl or a 300 lb. OG in a playoff game.

What is the point of having a Pro Bowl if everybody is gonna cry about a guy playing like it is a real game.

Which is more meaningless? The Pro Bowl or having 4 pre-season games?

If you get hurt in the Pro Bowl you have the entire offseason to recover.

If you get hurt in one of the meaningless exhibition games in the pre-season you will miss time during the season to help your team.

At least the Pro Bowl means something. It is an honor to be there and anybody who goes half-ass is doing a disservice to the fans who voted for them.

As a fan watching the game I liked it.

But if I were a player in the game, I'd have had a few words with him. I think the kicker was being cynical when he went over and patted him on the back.

I think they should do away with the pro-bowl if it's not going to have any meaning.

I'd rather see an all rookie game or something...

I'm sure the Bills were ecstatic that Belichick called a fake with their Pro Bowl punter. That was real classy, Bill.

Every site I go to, everyone is wanting to get on Taylor for the hit. I personally thought it was great. Things that come to my mind when I read all the complaining about the hit are 1) like Lucky said if Belichick is going to call a fake punt in this "exhibition" game, then you get hit. 2) Everyone complains about they hate that the Pros aren't going full speed, aren't trying' just earning a check. Then one guys goes full speed and hits someone and then everyone does a 180 and starts going after him. :twocents:

Regardless of the whole clean hit thing or not, I would LOVE a safety in our secondary that would lay the wood like Taylor and put the fear in the WR's coming across the middle! Whether you like him as a person you can not takeaway the fact that he is a playmaker that can cause fumbles, make the big hits, get the INT. or cover the WR/TE, which exactly what we need!

For anyone who has played football..I did through high school..you always hear the mantra of play hard because when you go half speed you get hurt. Honestly, they are out there in pads and if you are playing football you should play full speed and hit. The mantra is true..it is the guys sitting around piles and lolly-gagging around who get hurt. They have pads on and it is a game..got for it.

That's what I was always taught.

Most the time, the only kids that got hurt on my high school teams were the ones who were playing or practicing half-ass.

Yeah seriously. When I play football (DE and DT), I don't ease up on a man. You got all of this going for you, so you just hit hard, no matter what.

It does show alot about his play style. He goes hard no matter what. In his mind its: the punter shouldn't have been so stupid. I don't like the fact that he layed out a punter, but I am glad at least someone tries hard all the time, even in the games that don't matter.

I liked the hit point blak. It would be nice to have a safety on the Texans who had that kind of aggressive play.

For the folks that are crying about it....if you heard in the commentary they said Reggie Wayne purposely got of his way. So it clearly goes to show WHOEVER gets in his way is going to get knocked the **** out.

Signed,

Sean Taylor

No its called class. I know what football is, what they do in the Pro Bowl, certainly.......is not football. It is an excuse for a game. Trying to kill a punter in a exhibition game that means nothing is sad.

haha, so your not suppose to hit how you are taught, you dont know what your talkin about my friend

Man all of yall need to calm down. I bet u the punter was happy to get a chance to run the ball...these guy are athletes and like competing! Everyone wants the ball and to just have some fun sometimes. And I think the players try harder than 25%...considering there is an extra 20k laying on the table.

From a football standpoint...nastiest hit i have ever seen...made the pro bowl worth watching.

Ah, yes I do, theres a difference making a game changing hit and trying to kill somebody in a meaningless game. What if that was AJ running a reverse, and he ended up tearing his knee in a pointless game, would you be sitting here saying. "haha, great hit in the Pro Bowl, atleast he'll have the offseason to heal". Do you think Brees wishes he wasn't voted in the pro bowl right about now.

I like bone shattering hits just like the next person, but theres no place for that risk in this crappy game. My beef really isn't all against Taylor, its more against the Pro Bowl. The Pro Bowl game is a joke and should be done away with. Nobody really even watches the damn game.

That hit didn't even come close to the smear stain Bush was turned into. That was a vicious hit, one that he didn't just bounce back up from.

I agree with that.

Lito Sheppard's hit on Bush was way more violent than the Taylor hit.

Bush coudnt even stand up after it. Moorman practically jumped up off the ground.

My conclusion: either Sheppard's hit was more powerful or Moorman is just tougher than Bush.

i'll agree with you there. my real question becomes....why do they get an extra 20K or paid period for this game? I think that's kind of crazy. All of that money should go to charity or someone's education system. That's a whole other fuss on its own.

I think football just doesn't need an all-star game the way other sports does. the playoffs are the best thing. Most of the time I forget about the pro bowl anyway.
