Wow....... another "expert" who doesn't believe we need OL help in the second.

Hate the Texan's pick. Meriwether,Bush,D. Harris,Houston,Kalil,Ugoh,R. Harris are much better picks and provide immediate help. Moulds is getting older but he ain't dead. The guy can still produce besides if Carr looks his way more often, he could put up some nice numbers.

IMHO, Gonzalez would be the BPA. Maybe I just think higher of the guy than most...

I think we have more pressing needs and the WR may not be the bpa for us...

depending on what our scouts thinks of these guys I would pick them ahead of gonzalaz assuming we got peterson in the 1st like they have.

Ryan Harris OT
Aaron Ross CB
Lamaar Woodley DE
Buster Davis LB
Brandon Meriweather FS
Chris Houston CB
Victor Abiamiri DE

I don't really disagree with you....

But IMHO, Gonzo is better than all the guys on your list. I agree that we have more pressing needs, but I don't agree that you fill positions by "need first". I hope the Texans grab the most talented player on the board in every rd. no matter what position that player may play(with in reason). I think the talent range in the NFL is too narrow for us to reach on needs. I'm not saying we should pick Gonzalez....Unless he's the most talented player there when we pick....

I like the surname. It would sure put some butts in the seats at Reliant.
And I remember seeing him play a couple times last fall - he looked good.
But we have so many needs, and this is not a real high priority need at this time.

I agree with this especially those in bold, don't really agree with Harris because he didn't do anything by all accounts at the Senior Bowl. Harris could probably be had in the third if we want him.

I'm with you Addict. We come away with either Houston or Merryweather with the thirty nine I would be very pleased. I'm not as high as you are on Ross. I think he is at best a nickle guy coming out. The other two have a chance to start for you. Further...Houston just may push Dante to the right side in '08. We'll see.

I don't really agree that you can just pick the best player available and have a good draft. You have to take into account how high a player is rated compared to the other prospects, but you also have to consider how much of an upgrade each is to what you already have at that position. If the top rated player is only a slight upgrade over the player you already have on your roster, but a player rated a few slots lower is a huge upgrade at his position, you get more value by going with the bigger upgrade. Also, youcan't always take BPA because what if the BPA when your team picks is always a WR (for example), you wouldn't continue to pick WRs just because they are BPA. Team needs are always considered.

You can if you are Detroit.

Just ignore me I'm :drunk:

Serious, I think it is both. The Rounds 1 and 2: What your team needs is more of a factor than BPA. Rounds 3 and 4: They are about even. And Rounds 5, 6, and 7: BPA is more important. :twocents:

Definitly have to take the best player if he's rated a lot higher than the others. i agree that i don't think "gonzo" is rated that much higher if at all by us or any team than chris houston or brandon meriweather..which are both coming from one of the biggest needs of our team.
