There are 16 underclassmen among my projections for the first 32 picks of the 2007 NFL draft, including two of the top three. LSU junior quarterback JaMarcuss Russell gets the nod as the first overall pick, and North Carolina State defensive tackle Tank Tyler rounds out my first-round projections as the No. 32 overall selection to Indianapolis.

1. Oakland Raiders: *JaMarcus Russell, QB, LSU
2. Detroit Lions: Joe Thomas, OT, Wisconsin
3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: *Calvin Johnson, WR, Georgia Tech
4. Cleveland Browns: Brady Quinn, QB, Notre Dame
5. Arizona Cardinals: *Jamaal Anderson, DE, Arkansas
6. Washington Redskins: *Alan Branch, DT, Michigan
7. Minnesota Vikings: Gaines Adams, DE, Clemson
8. Houston Texans: *Adrian Peterson, RB, Oklahoma
9. Miami Dolphins: *Ted Ginn, Jr., WR, Ohio St.
10. Atlanta Falcons: LaRon Landry, S, LSU
11. San Francisco 49ers: *Reggie Nelson, DB, Florida
12. Buffalo Bills: Leon Hall, CB, Michigan
13. St. Louis Rams: *Charles Johnson, DE, Georgia
14. Carolina Panthers: Levi Brown, OT, Penn St.
15. Pittsburgh Steelers: *Jarvis Moss, DE, Florida
16. Green Bay Packers: *Marshawn Lynch, RB, California
17. Jacksonville Jaguars: *Sidney Rice, WR, South Carolina
18. Cincinnati Bengals: Amobi Okoye, DT, Louisville
19. Tennessee Titans: *Dwayne Jarrett, WR, USC
20. New York Giants: *Lawrence Timmons, LB, Florida St.
21. Denver Broncos: Adam Carriker, DE, Nebraska
22. Dallas Cowboys: *Robert Meachem, WR, Tennessee
23. Kansas City Chiefs: Tony Ugoh, OT, Arkansas
24. New England Patriots (from Seattle): *Darrelle Revis, CB, Pittsburgh
25. New York Jets: Dwayne Bowe, WR, LSU
26. Philadelphia Eagles: Aaron Ross, CB, Texas
27. New Orleans Saints: Daymeion Hughes, CB, California
28. New England Patriots: *Anthony Gonzalez, WR, Ohio St.
29. Baltimore Ravens: Anthony Spencer, DE, Purdue
30. San Diego Chargers: Patrick Willis, LB, Mississippi
31. Chicago Bears: *Greg Olsen, TE, Miami (Fla)
32. Indianapolis Colts: Tank Tyler, DT, NC St.

Top 10 picks make sense for now...Don't see how Dwayne Jarrett could drop that far but man it would be great for VY and the Titans. Also, I'm not sure the Pats will draft a receiver that high. I think they will improve that defense and if Asante Samuel leaves they'll look to bring in some insurance.

31. Chicago Bears: *Greg Olsen, TE, Miami (Fla)

Check it out, same player I chose for the Bears in the Member Mock Draft. And to think people were telling me that Miller was the better prospect; I atleast have one person who agrees.

I think he has too many WRs, going #1. I really don't think Anthony Gonzalez is a first round pick.

I also agree I don't see that many WRs going over Jerrett.

If Peterson is there at 8, I really hope they trade down to the teens and get Marshawn Lynch and an extra 3rd.

I like Lynch and think that we should pick him if Peterson is gone, but if Peterson is there, you have to pick him.

Admittedly I have not seen enough Lynch to think he warrants a pick at #8. But I do want the A-Train.

What makes you like the Lynch?

I dont see Blalock in this mock going in the first round, Who thinks we should take him if hes there for our 2nd round pick? or La
marr Woodley?

He is the prototypical size for a running back, runs with power but has enough speed to break long runs and has great hands out of the back field, but can also catch the ball down field.

He also does not have as much wear as Peterson which I think is important for a position that has such a short shelf life.

There were a couple of selections that suprised me in this mock draft. Dwayne Jarret going so low and Robert Meachem and Anthony Gonzales going in the first round? And how about Anthoney Spenser at #29? I think the most shocking thing to me was Aaron Ross being the first Texas DB taken, and not Micheal Griffen, plus Ross going before Hughes.

But oh well, this is what this guy gets payed to do and he knows a heck of a lot more than we do.

and the chargers picking up willis????why they already have such a strong core of lbs why not get a number one receiver or db or something?????? come on now......

If Peterson is there at 8, I really hope they trade down to the teens and get Marshawn Lynch and an extra 3rd.

In a better draft class with a different vibe coming from the fanbase I'd agree with you. Today though I take the running back at 8.

he has poszlusney going in the 3rd round. if he's available then, would you take him? could he bulk up and play SLB? he looks pretty maxed out at 237, so i dont know, but he'd be a steal as a 3rd rounder.

If Blalock is there at pick 39 when the Texans pick in the Secound Round I would be really surpised as well as elated if the Texans drafted him there. Some websites have him listed as the top rated Offensive Guard prospect in the draft and he might even be able to play some Offensive Tackle if need be.

23. Kansas City Chiefs: Tony Ugoh, OT, Arkansas

I know it has nothing to do with anything but this guy is a sleeper. He used to be my next door neighbor and fellow Westfield Mustang, big and bulky (shot from 5'6 to 6'4 in one years span) and just an all out man. Good luck to you Anthony and it's a shame you're not on the the Texans radar because you are a versatile lineman who could immediately help this squad.

You're his freind and I understand that. Unvarnished truth, he didn't have a good week this week. Kiper set the guy up for a big pay day, and he got foot lost. He'll still get picked day one. Better than working at Sears.

If Minnesota goes defense with their 1st, I think the fans will revolt there. I realize their pass defense needs help (they were 1st against the run and tied for last against the pass), but they lost because of their offense.

no pass rush whatsoever. 0 sacks from kenechi udeze over 16 games. they could easily address that and no one should be upset.

At the prospect of missing a true Will or a rush DE ? Yep, you mark me down as yes. He's not a left tackle. But he is a Rt who covers LG and RG. That's good enough in my book. Joe Staley will probably be the best OLT prospect on the board. Blailock is the BPA. Blailock will be the first high UT guy we'll have taken. I'll believe it when I see it.

Did James get hurt ? That is a prety astounding stat. Both guys a bit like what's on the board at DE this year. Mayoch absolutly gushed over James at his combine. Those two with out any...that is amazing.

so now it comes down to "high" UT guys like that would define our draft. i'll take talent from anywhere, as long as it helps the Texans.

Well I haven't seen too many folks ranking Blalock out of the first round. Have you ? If a guy who is by most pronosticators have as a top RT prospect , first round guy, is on the board at forty...wouldn't you consider that BPA ? And...you can look up the year Derick Johnson came out or the year that Miami took Rod Wright with a seventh, I do not bang on UT guys. I love Texas, but draft stuff, I take the orange colored glasses off. Blalock is a very high end OT prospect. He just can't cover OLT. Not in the NFL any way. I was just making the point that o-line continues to be this football clubs black hole. Any help is better than no help at all. You can look me up if you wanna.

that's fine. i'd consider him the BPA, not someone i would look at extra special just because the team hasnt taken a UT player "high." just say the guy is someone you want to see in a Texans uni come opening day 2007. i do agree blalock would be a huge value if he is there at rd.2.

James injured his knee in the second game of the year and missed the rest of the season. Offenses game planned to neutralize Udeze. Similar to what they did against Mario.

If LaRon Landry is predicted as high as ten than couldn't one think he could go as high as .................ummmmmmmmm........................8. Would anyone have a problem with that? I wouldn't be mad at 'em.

Adrian Peterson makes sense. One cut and explode, that's what Kubiak wants and that is what he would get with Peterson.

One thing I do like about Kiper, he doesn't spend a lot of time ragging on a team or justifying last years evaluations. Too many of these ***** sports writers are spending their mock draft time reminding everyone how the texans passed on the best 54 million dollar punt returner/dumpoff receiver available. Kiper at least tries to keep it professional, even if he's not right on a regular basis.

and the chargers picking up willis????why they already have such a strong core of lbs why not get a number one receiver or db or something?????? come on now......

Well we don't have to worry about that anymore...after this week/the senior bowl..barring any unforseen mishaps during the combine he's pretty much made himself a top 15 lock. And yes if he's there at 30 you take him...that'd be a set of linebackers I would pray i would never have to face.

That's natural position. Why would you want to bulk him up? His problem is when he is in coverage, he is just not natural in coverage, so he is being questioned as to being a true 3 down LB.

Hey in Member Mock 1.0, I had Spencer going at 29! Kiper must be reading our stuff

kiper is incredibly wrong on SF and on patrick willis, in my opinion. willis to the 49ers seems a true lock pick to me. SF plays a traditional 4-3 and they have no MLB for it. willis could do as demeco ryans did and win defensive ROY next year.

at least kiper is making progress, having russell ahead of quinn. kiper has been clutching at BQs jock for some time now.

I think he has too many WRs, going #1. I really don't think Anthony Gonzalez is a first round pick.

I also agree I don't see that many WRs going over Jerrett.

Well one thing for sure...under this scenario, unless they have Samuels or Clemments in the bank...you can kiss off Kolb and Smith @2. 3 & 4 will be best corner on the board, best corner on the board. But as was posted on another thread...this is Kipers shuffle of the week.

My big question with the Tony Gonzales pick is would the wolf pick an o skill guy when he has so manny age guys at LB ? When he has that young coven at H back who basicaly do the same thing Gonzales does ? I dunno but, when he needs a front line prospect at corner, with Cariker still on the board he's going to by pass that and wait on Ray McDonald ? Seymore is not a young 'un any more. Be nice for him to restock a 3-4 DE. Have a guy on line for his '08 run.

never mind see him.

21. Denver Broncos: Adam Carriker, DE, Nebraska
