Bush and the USC Scandal

"A federal investigation into extortion claims by New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush and his family has revealed the existence of taped conversations that could confirm Bush took cash and gifts while he was playing football for the University of Southern California"
*******************************
Smoking Gun ?
I dunno, but maybe not exactly a good thing for the USC athletic program ?

I find it funny that ESPN absolutely LOVES Bush while Yahoo seems to hate him. In that article, they repeatedly state that it is Yahoo's research, as to not hate on their golden child.

If USC suffers extreme probation repracussions, they will lose scholorships that should hamper their football program...........damn reggie your stupid lateral attempt cost your school a N. Title, and now this will cost them for sure.

I find it funny how USC is trying to distant themselves from him. They allowed a murderer on the sidelines, but not Reggie.

Maybe Reggie will come out with his own book:

"If I took the money, this is how I did it..."

pretty sad if you ask me. i cant blame them for not allowing bush on the sidelines, but to act like that murderer had nothing to do with well...those murders, is reprehensible.

"I respectfully decline to comment on the media frenzy regarding Reggie Bush, his family and his college career," David Cornwell, Bush's attorney, said Wednesday.

This guy needs to look uo the definition of "frenzy". If anything, there hasn't been enough coverage and investigation.

Damn, and Reggie just kept putting this thing down. Just when he thought it would go away, Yahoo shoves it back in his face and it is bigger than it first was. He should had just admitted it when he had the chance. No wonder he wasn't at the Rose Bowl. Lets see what Saints Report has to saw about this.

So it looks like Vince is now going to be a Heisman winner.
As we all know should have been the situation in the first place, except when
ESPNs around-the-clock hype machine went into action after Bush's Fresno
State game the voters bought into the hype hook-line-and-sinker.

Many may not know this but this kind of stuff has been going on and still goes on and will continue to go on, he just got caught cause the guy was mad and opened his mouth, other wise you would have never heard about it, and because it is Reggie Bush.

I'd hate to see Vince stoop to the level of actually accepting that POS award under these circumstances.

I actually expected Reggie to crawl across the field and beg Vince to take it from him after the Rose Bowl... (soon to be renamed the Vince Young Bowl of Roses...according to my sources.)

Interesting that this story breaks just a few days after the Saints lose in the playoffs... :tinfoil:

Thanks for telling us about the facts of life there Hulk.
Now here's another fact of life, you do the crime you pay the time.
So whatever Bush gets caught doing (probably not criminal), his alma mater
will pay the time, whatever that may be.
*****
It does occur to me that Bush could potentailly have one very serious legal problem here - his Uncle Sam.
Not a good idea to end up in court fighting with your unc about whether or not this kind of money was
a loan, a gift, or will be treated, according to the IRS, some form of compensation subject to Income Tax.

ouch. this will be interesting how it unfolds. just when we thought it got swept under the rug it keeps getting brought back up....wonder if this is something that lingers him for a while. Most people don't even know anything about this scandal...so the 'investigation' is going to need a break through to reach the american public...not just the ones that actually pay attention to whats going on.

oklahoma and alumni got busted before the season... just another example of this stuff happening.

Here's another one...about bush's whole deal and the rose bowl

Take the money but not the blame, then sit out during the key part of the game.

I think some credit should go to Mcnair and the staff for researching this out enough to know this could blow up in their faces.

I think it would've blown up worse and faster if we picked him because he would've been the #1 pick.

I have said all along that this was the item that triped it over to Mario. Lloyd Lakes (the guy in the artical who supplied all the money to EA sports) is a well known gangster in Southern Cal. You have Bushe's agent acting like a putz, Reggie seeming to be full of him self and diening the reports and then it looks like the team found out on the Tuesday before the draft that things didn't look right and "Bingo" it's Mario. Do you think McNair or Kubes would have anything to do with something that has the look of this, particularly if there seems to be a gangster in the background? I doubt it very much. Whether it proves out false or not in the end, they would have looked at this and moved away quick.
