Colts. Too much difference in quality of QB's and the Colts D has stepped up in the playoffs. They also have a top clutch FG kicker.

I think the Patriots are better than the Bears and they beat them so that's my vote.

Colts.
 
I said Bears win it all and i'm sticking with it...Although i did think the Pats would have been in there...Oh well...Bears still win it all....Iam SOOOOOO ready for Superbowl....Yeahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!! Bring it on Baby!!!!!
 
I doubt it will be very close by the end. Colts by double digits. Bears have a pretty good defense, but they are missing a couple of important guys and the Colts offense will be to much for them.
 
I did a quick search to see who is favored in Vegas (I don't gamble though) and the Colts are favored by 7 by most.
 
Wow... It's EVEN???? Damn. I still think the Colts will win. Gonna support the hometown guy, Joseph Addai. I really did not intend for that to rhyme. :shades:

The over/under is at 49 and I would take 'over', which spells Colts.

The Saints simply failed to step it up in the bad weather. I don't expect to see the Colts turn the ball over like the Saints did either. Peyton outplays Grossman, while the run and defenses cancel each other out. Colts by 10.
 
Wow, I'm surprised that it's now a 2-1 Colts over Bears margin. Da Bears getting no respect. I still say Bears by 7. Special Teams and Scoring Defense get overlooked too much.
 
I want the Bears to win, but expect the Colts to do so.

Either way I'll be :drunk: and happy....

Same here. Addai has class. Anybody else watch that segment of him and his high school teammate on Inside the NFL? Addai is a great guy. I wish him all the best. (Well, except for when he plays us.)

It's all about the turnovers. I think Manning has finally gotten the monkey off his back & is ready to light it up. The Bears gain an advantage on Grass, but here's no freezing temps & snow to help them next week.

I normally have a policy of supporting the AFC in superbowls.

But it is Peyton Manning..... just can't do it.

Both these teams feel they have a lot to prove (Manning cant win the big one, all the Grossman talk..etc), so I think its ultimately going to come down to the best player on the field making the plays when it counts (how cliche is that?)...Peyton and the Colts.



Who can vote for Rex Grossman? Honestly?

Did you see what the Pats did to the Colts Special Teams?

Their Defense is still better than the Colts. As stated Manning has been pretty generous.

I love Dungy but I think DA BEARS got this in a close one.

naw, these guys don't look as good as that squad. The 2000 Ravens are something of a historical achievement team like the 85 Bears.

2000 Ravens 165 points allowed
1985 Bears 186 points allowed

2006 Bears 255 points allowed ( with three potsy teams fielded in the NFC North..plus a bunch of "rebuildin" teams from the AFC on their schedule... Bucs, Dolphins, Bills )

Plus Manning doesn't have a drinking problem like Kerry Collins.
 
All those that voted for da Bears didnt see the Seahawks Bears game, where they barely got out of there. I would go out on a limb and say that the colts are better than the Seahawks. One thing that someone brought up does bring me doubt though...Devin Hester. But he hasn't been the same guy as he was earlier in the season, so I guess we will see what happens.

Yeah but they have also shifted some rules around that benefit offenses, so thats not really as accurate as it looks. You cant touch a WR and QB's have strike zones, so those numbers get a little inflated. That was a time when you could get real physical with recievers and disrupt a passing game, and shoestring a QB.
 
I am a quasi Bears fans having lived in Elmhurst, IL for a couple of years. However, I side on stories this time of the year when my team is AWOL at the dance. Peyton is the story and much like prognosticators talking about Phil Mickleson back in the day I am tired of hearing Manning not winning the big one.

In a self serving way I want the Colts to win, with or without Manning. Having our fledgling team be the last to beat the potential SB Champs sets up a nice story in FA, the Draft and in the preparation for workouts, TC and the regular season. I love the smell of reasonable optimism in the Spring. It smells like victory.
 
Da Bears. Run the ball, play defense...you win. That eight play all run drive was an expcailmation mark. It crushed the Saints. If they'd been a dog, they would have taken them out and shot them. Colts can't stop it. Reggie needed two more "big uns".

I'm leaning towards taking the points but I think the Colts will win.

If the Bears can't run though, it'll be a long day for them. The last 2 teams to beat Indy (Jac and Houston) each ran 42 times. Even the Titans and Cowboys, the only other teams to beat them this year, ran it 35 and 36 times. That keeps the ball out of Manning's hands. Indy only had 6 possessions the entire game against Houston and 1 of those was a 2 play drive ending in a fumble. KC ran 17 times, Baltimore 20, NE 24. I don't know if it's so much of Indy's run D playing better or their opponents just not running enough. Granted, KC only averaged 2.6 per carry, but the Ravens and Pats ran at a decent clip, 4.2 and 3.9 respectively.

I expect Benson and Jones to do well coupled with the Bears D playing well enough (force a couple of turnovers, maybe score on one), to keep it a close game. If Grossman plays great as well, I think the Bears can win. Hester could play a huge role in this too.

So I'll go with Colts winning, but by less than 7.

Alright BigBull... let's try to adjust the ole rabbit ears and see if we can clean up the picture.

Question on the table - If Ravens trump Giants in 2000, then could Bears trump Colts.

I say no right away because the 2000 Giants were a defense oriented club, but let's throw some numbers up on the board anyway. ( besides that, nothing like having a reason to talk about the 85 Bears! Wooot! )

Ravens 2000 Points Allowed: 165--NFL Average: 330.8
85 Bears Points Allowed: 198------NFL Average: 344.5

06 Bears Points Allowed: 255------NFL Average: 330.5
06 Ravens Points Allowed: 201
06 Patriots Points Allowed: 237

The points allowed is not the be-all-end-all, but it makes a decent dipstick. I think when you compare their points allowed versus the NFL average allowed, it kinda nullifies any lingering questions about the rule changes.
