Exoneration for Vick?

Seems as if all those reports about Vick may indeed turn out to be untrue. Though i'm sure he did/does do the "tree" in the court of public opinion. I wonder if this thread will take up three pages talking about how wrong they were for passing judgment before the true story was told. I really don't think so.
 
It means he didn't have marijuana, but it still doesn't discount the fact that he acts like an idi*t quite often.

There's no way to spin this where Vick doesn't look like a fool. Poor judgment and arrogance... that's all this ever was... it wasn't about criminality... I could care less what people do in their spare time as long as it's not a felony... smuggling things onto planes is ridiculous.

Oh, how often does he act like an *****? If this published report is true, he will have no brushes with the law. He gave the hometown fans the one finger salute. And the other personal matter but other than that how often is it? I'd really like to know.

I've been a long time Vick apologist. It's not about his record... it's about maturity.

As an aside, this "exoneration" will be enough to keep him in ATL... How about Schaub and the #10 pick to Oakland for the #1 Pick, and a #3. That would be a pretty nice deal for ATL. Calvin Johnson and Vick.

I feel the poor judgment and arrogance was in all the media that ran with the story and not reporting it responsibly. And not to mention a few people on this board as well. He looks like a fool due to people grabbing a straws to bring attention to themselves.

This has nothing to do with apologizing for Vick but everything to do with people jumping on a story with no legs and sensationalizing it.

It's not really debatable... he tried to bring a doctored water bottle onto a plane with a hidden substance inside. He was reluctant to throw it away. It had a hidden compartment with something inside it. The doctored bottle was the only one in the trash. Surveillance cameras corroborated this. As the face of a franchise you have to be above reproach, not stupid, arrogant, and borderline criminal.

This year alone, here are the Vick incidents:

1. Throwing his teammates under the bus.
2. Flipping off the fans.
3. Throwing his coach under the bus.
4. This latest snafu.

In that link I provided, there are a few other ridiculous incidents. Like I said, I'm happy for him that it wasn't an illegal substance, but that doesn't really make the underlying issue go away. No one's supported Vick on this board more than me... but this incident is just too much to overlook.

If we didn't sensationalize everything and make gratituitous use of hyperbole, then the world would just be a bunch a decaying matter and energy stuck in entropy.

On that note, I heard Vick still has to notify the CDC before he crosses state lines. So no. No, he is not exonerated. At least not until I see that he was cured for trich and the clap.
 
Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick won't face criminal charges over a suspicious bottle he tried to bring through security at Miami International Airport.

Lab tests on the bottle, which contained a hidden compartment that police suspected may have contained marijuana, found no evidence of drugs, according to a memo Monday by Deisy Rodriguez, an assistant state attorney.

"Based on the lab's findings, the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office is not filing criminal charges," Rodriguez said in the memo, adding the bottle is no longer considered evidence in an investigation.

Well I think that in today's media its just the way things are that they jump on things before anysubstance actually comes out. So I do see your point Kbourd.

But heck if it smelled like Corn then there probably was some in there at some point of time. Who really knows how much of this is true or just got secretly washed over by some Home Depot Money. Its not like it doesn't go on all the time in the pro and college sports world.

Well except in Cincy that is.

This might be total hearsay, but wasn't Vick recently photographed in a nightclub tokin'?

I'd sure like to know what was in the magic bottle. Being an NFL player doesn't exempt you from having to forge personal maturity, but I think there is plenty out there to corroborate the idea that Vick hasn't grown up. I don't judge him for errors in judgment, but it would be nice if he acknowledged them and presented at least a facade of learning from his mistakes.

That is my whole question. Not what was in the bottle, but why do you need a bottle with a secret compartment anyway, unless you are trying to hide something?

Well they are made for concealing jewelery, cash and other valuables from crooks and thieves. The question to me is why you would be so reluctant to throw away an empty bottle with a secret compartment. It's not like he couldn't afford another one. Vick's carreer is just rife with poor judgement decisions on and off the field. I never thought I'd be saying this but I've had enough of Mr. vick, there is talk in town today of the Falcons trading him, I hope they do. We just don't need this kind of crap from the "leader" of the team.

Adios "Ron Mexico" can't be soon enough for me.

A compartment would be nice while walking or jogging to keep valuables. Personally I would like one to store away my car keys while leaving everything else locked in the trunk.

It doesn't appear that Vick will be a Cowboy, therefore, I don't have any particular interest in him one way or another, but I find it interesting if suspected of illegal activity why he would be asked to dump the suspicious bottle yet allowed to board the plane.

I guess if he did a bottle with a secert compartment then he should have backed it in his suitcase or bought a new one when he gets where you are going, instead of trying to board the plane with it.
 
This is total BS. Obviously his attorney probably threatened to sue, and had a pretty good case. How did the airport security know that the bottle he threw away was the one that they retrieved?

Vick is definitely guilty but had a good lawyer. Does anyone ever remember hearing Vick deny the report? Because I don't.

That's what I mean, any reasonable person would have done that. Everyone knows you're only allowed to carry on bottles of stuff about what 3 ounces or so? NOT a 20 oz bottled water. You can buy all the bottled water you want on the concourse AFTER you pass security. Again, the bad decision making process kicks in.

By the way they knew which bottle it was because a) security cameras and b) it was the only Aquifina bottle in the trash can and c) I think we may assume his fingerprints were on it.

Question, why if Vick were "innocent" of the charges did he not come out in public and proclaim such? And why did the Falcon spokesman after a meeting with Vick the next day come out and say something to the effect that "We will not tolerate this type behaviour"? I mean if there was nothing suspicious in that bottle and Vick knew (as he obviously would have) that with a certainty there should have been much stronger language in the media by the Falcons and by Vick himself.

And if there was not mary jane residue in that bottle what was it? Are we to believe he was carrying around a bottle with oregano residue in a concealed compartment?

Vick definitely takes the award for Dumbass of the month for trying to carry a water bottle w/ hidden compartment on a plane.

My question is what kind of residue was in that bottle to make one think it was marijuana residue? Marijuana doesn't really have a residue unless it's smoked first, which leaves a burnt type of residue usually in pipes or bongs. Even if this was the dankest of the dank, the residue would consist of a few trichomes that had broken off the the marijuana. I guarantee 99% of the people in this world wouldn't recognize it to be from marijuana. Now if it was hashish, which is the trichomes compressed together, it may have left a sticky dark residue. Yet if it was hash residue, the tests would have showed it to contain THC.
 
My money is that it's hash.. I think theres a cover up about the THC levels.
Good hash is hard to find... I would bet that's why he tried to even fly with it.
Still a dumb ass.

If not impossible to find in the USA. On most continents, Hash is more common than marijuana, but not here unfortunately.

A buddy of mine brought some back from Germany in the sixties and I smoked some once. It's the highest I've ever been and I couldn't stop laughing at everything but man did Jimi Hendrix sound good THAT day!

Airport tape of Vick ditching bottle erased

Miami-Dade police have erased the airport security video showing Falcons quarterback Michael Vick disposing of a water bottle at the airport after it was requested by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution under Florida's public records law.

The video, made on Jan. 17, was part of the investigation into the water bottle with a hidden compartment that an initial police report said contained "a small amount of a dark particulant and a pungent aroma closely associated with marijuana."

Definitely had my share of Hashish in the time I've spent in europe. Nothing like sitting in a coffee shop in Amsterdam or a beach in Spain and not having to watch your back and worry.

Once was enough for me. I was doing just fine sitting on the couch puffing and listening to, Hendrix, Joplin and Country Joe and the fish real mellow like and my room mate who was just showered and getting ready for a date walks through the room wearing nothing but leapard skin briefs. That and the fact that he strongly resembled Cheech Marin and I got the laughs that wouldn't quit. My sides were sore for a week. No more hash for me.
