Just a Random Thought

Please don't bash me, but I have a random thought, and I don't get those very often...

But the 2008 draft seems like it is going to have a couple of big name QB's coming out. I do know allot of people want David Carr's **** in a bag. I don't know which way to lean. I am not a head coach or GM or anything else for that matter but a fan of the Texans...

But doesn't it make sence that they will give Carr just 1 more chance to prove himself under Kub's new system and trainings to prove himself and if he blows it, like a majority of fans think he will, then cut there losses and go for 1 of these 2 hotdogs coming out as seniors next year?

Chad Henne from Michigan, Brian Brohm from Louisville, and Colt Brennan from Hawaii... :yahoo:

I know there will be others that shine, but these 3 have my eye now...

To me, and it's just an opinion, if Carr is as bad as many think, we will have a high draft pick again in 2008, so why not pull the gun then, and not now? We can't get who we want this year cause we just have too many holes to plug and Plummer is not our long term answer, IMHO of course... I don't want a band aid fix, I want a franchise fix...

You did not list the QB who will probably be the #1 QB in the draft next year, Brian Brohm, Louisville.

Or play Sage Rosenfels next year.
Wait
If we make the playoffs we won't be able to draft Brohm
Thats more important than winning

Dang, can I blame it on the Viagra I have taken over the past few years? :stirpot:

I just don't think there will be a buy out of the four million involved with Carr's contract. McNair's not going to eat it. The trading partner is not going to eat it. And the cap space for free agents is around 10 to thirteen piont five million. That's a lot of dollars off a little cap space. ...Like it or not, Carr is going to get paid.

There will also be a load of left tackle prospects in '08. Running back prospects, including the two hotest back prospects to come out in a while, McFaddin and Rice. They may come out in '08. So I don't think it is a reach that they maybe look at what is on the board in '08. OLT has been a black hole for five years. Can't argue QB at this point either. Plus if I'm reading the "Finacing a used car" thread correctly, with our cap space in '08, it makes devesting from Carr a little more palatible. Having an LT or Bo Jackson like prospect at running back appeals to me. So does locking down OLT for ten ears. But you'll still have to choose next year as well.

I would put Young ,Leinert, and Cutler above them...Brohm maybe closest.

good random thought :lightbulb: but I don't really want to spend a high 1st rd. pick on a QB ever again :brickwall

just saw (East West Shrine) a very interesting prospect for Kubiak to mold (later rds.) form Nevada named Jeff Rowe. if the Texans cut their losses and promote Sage he is very similar to him (what little I saw- 2nd qt.) big 6050 230 strong with a :hunter: gun for a arm & not afraid to use it :lightbulb:
