Donte Stallworth UFA

TexansSB07

Waterboy
He told Eagles didn't want contract negotiations disrupting 2006 season, so wouldn't negotiate during season. So now he is unrestricted free agent, Stallworth is now hoping to get something done with the Eagles or another team.

"It'll be what it is. I love playing here in this city…It was an opportunity to showcase what I can do," Does anyone remember how he lit us up in Eagles game, it would require some money to get him, but I think he would like playing for Kubiak.

Eagles would like to keep him, but will not over pay. He missed three or four games early. If he stays in Philly,Saints get a third round pick this draft. If he goes elsewhere, Saints get a fourth.

He could be that legitimate deep threat that we need, but I'm not sure there's enough balls to go around in our offense with Andre and Moulds already here to convince him to come here, and if we did pay a lot to bring him in that might push Moulds into feeling even more unwanted than he may already feel after his lack of production this year, which could push him into being a malcontent and/or retirement. Either way I'll bet the Eagles work pretty hard to bring him back since he played so well this year and gave them a very talented WR talent that they've been lacking, but at the same time Reggie Brown, Hank Baskett, and Greg Lewis have all looked pretty solid, maybe to the point where they'd feel comfortable moving forward with that trio if Stallworth wants too much money.

Why would he want to come here (besides money of course)? Our passing game depends on short slants, hitches, and five yard dump offs. I'm assuming that is because of our short comings at OL, QB, and even RB. Until we shore up those areas it doesn't matter what WR we bring in.

This is true, But. AT the same time we have never had a WR opposite AJ to stretch the field. Donte would be perfect for the job. But he would cost to much and we wouldnt be able to fill any of our other holes after all the money we would have to give him.

Simply put, we don't need him. We don't have a vertical passing game, and he has injury concerns. Not to mention he's got bad hands. he's like an upgrdaed Corey Bradford, who excelled in the right system. he'd look terrible here.

Don't forget how good Moulds really is. Just because our passing game was awful this season, doesn't mean he's lost anything. He just looks bad in our system

Why is it that other great receivers open up opportunities for the other receivers on their team while we need a good receiver to open up opportunities for our great receiver?

He is good to great when he is healthy, but he is often injured. I don't want to add another player like that to our list (D. Williams and Mathis).
