II Jan. 14, 1968 Green Bay 33, Oakland 14
I Jan. 15, 1967 Green Bay 35, Kansas City 10

Biggest upset IMO, was the San Francisco/Miami SB. Miami was supposed to mop up with Marino & Co. and their "Killer B" defense, but you just can't give a guy like Joe Montana all of that billboard material to stew over.

Best memory was SF 55 Den 10...too much talk about the game, and by kick off everybody seemed to think it was going to be close. I rarely gamble, but me and my Beer stood up in a crowded room at a bar and gave any takers Denver and 25 pts.. By halftime I had a line in front of me with folks giving me their money. I just wish I could have covered more folks. I haven't gambled since, nor will I, my luck isn't that great.

Side note: SF is not my favorite team, I have only recently adopted them as my #2 team (wife is a Niner). Houston teams will always rule my heart.

Let's see- age 43 - thus born in 1963 or 1964 - so you would have just started paying attention when Super Bowl III was played. I think that's one of the biggest upsets of all time, in any sport. With hindsight maybe Baltimore should not have been 17 point favorites, but at the time it was a huge game. I don't see how any other Super Bowl could compare in terms of impact -

And while you are ranking upsets, KC's win over Minnesota in Super Bowl IV was a pretty big upset as well -

If I am not mistaken, I think Super Bowl XI was played there, but not completely sure. Or maybe it was Super Bowl VIII or IX. What I do remember is that Minnesota played in whatever game was played in Houston back then

VIII Jan. 13, 1974 Miami 24, Minnesota 7 , this was played at Rice .
The biggest upset Jets over Colts! First time ever win for the AFL!
More recent big upset was Pats over The Rams 20-17.

The Titans losing to the Rams (by one yard!) was one of my favs. It was a great game made even better by the Titans losing it.

Well actually they didn't lose by a yard, that would have tied the game, so we never would have know the outcome if he had scored, but still, glad the last yard wasn't made !

Definitely III, I was totally stupid on that one. SB V was the first one I paid attention to. That was when I was seven (born 5/63). My friend and I "broadcast" the game with his tape recorder. Hi-tech stuff back then. I was mad when the Cowboys lost. Back then it was cool to see a Texas team in the game and the Cowboys were (gulp) likable. The ones before that I still had the attention span of a lightning bolt so I dabbled in watching the game.

wow! never realised that the Bills lost 4 straight SB!
Unlucky buggers!

How did that go down after they lost their forth?!?

SuperBowl XXV was a great one and the closest of the Bills SuperBowl losses.

Remember, it all came down to a FG attempt going wide right that would have won the game. Poor Scott Norwood. He was a good kicker that I don't think was ever able to live that down during the remainder of his professional football career.

I've gotta go with Titans/Rams as my favorite for the reasons DB stated. Watching Bud miss it by one yard was great. It was the last time I've hosted a Super Bowl party and it was huge. Oiler fans out-numbered non-Oiler fans and things got a little wild, especially at the end. Sweet, sweet ending!

SB XXXVII was memorable because I watched it with ex-Houston Astros pitching great, J.R. Richard and his son. Plus the Bucs saved me from having to jump into an ice cold swimming pool. That was almost a stupid bet.

The earliest SB I can remember is X. This was also the game that I started rooting for the Cowboys. My intense, deep hatred of the Steelers and the Oilers inability to beat them, made me a Cowboy fan. Of course they didn't beat them either, but did win it in SB XII. That hooked me for good.

Even though I was too young and don't remember, Jets over the Colts has to be the biggest upset.

Lots of memorable games. Jackie Smith's drop in SB XIII made me ill. Watching Swann made me ill. Watching Montana made me ill. Actually being ill laying on my couch with a horrible hangover watching Norwood's miss in SB XXV. The Cowboys rolling in the 90's and finally beating those punk ass Steelers. Brett Favre winning a SB. John Elway finally winning a SB. The helicopter play by Elway. Going home with pockets full of $$$$ after SB XXXVI and XL. One of the best SB games ever being played at Reliant Stadium and that whole week of events during SB week here in Houston.

Between the Cowboys winning SB XII and SB XXVII, there wasn't one team that I rooted for that won a SB. I hated the Niners, 'Skins, Giants, Steelers, Raiders and though I really didn't hate the Bears, I was rooting for the Patriots. But since SB XXVII, all but 2 teams I've wanted to win have won it. Steelers, 'Niners were the 2.

Of course, the ultimate Super Bowl memory/favorite game has yet to come. And that would be the Houston Texans not only getting there, but winning it.

Agreed. Anytime the Titans get beat, it's a good day.
My favorites though...Superbowl #'s 1 and 2.
Back then I was a die hard Green Bay fan. Bart Starr, Paul Horning, Ray Nitscke...They were the men. And of course, Mr. Lombardi. Again, we beat the Cowgirls at the "Frozen Tundra" with the "Longest Yard", to go to the Superbowl. Green Bay wins, Cowgirls lose.
Fast forward a few decades.... Texans win, Cowgirls lose. Seems as though I have the same theme running through my mind.

I'm a bit young, so I won't get into the upsets category simply because there are a few Super Bowl's I haven't had the opportunity to see yet.

I can definitely say, though, that my favorite game was Super Bowl XXIX. I've always been a huge Steve Young fan (lefties represent!), and it was great to not only see him own in that game, but break a record for most passing TD's in a single Super Bowl.

But I think it almost goes without saying (for me at least) that the New England game were some of the most entertaining to watch simply because of their closeness.

That's why I overlooked the Jets-Colts game, I was too young to appreciate the upset, and the historical significance of the game, (damned hot wheels).

(lefties represent) Right on.

I envy you, that memory, wish I could sit down and hear about it.

I'm 31 so my first memory of a Super Bowl was 18 when the Raiders won. It took 13 long years for me to see another AFC team win, so Super Bowl 32 will always be a favorite of mine, but the best has to be Super Bowl 34...for one game I was as big a Rams fan as I am a Texans fan now.

I have most of the Super Bowl broadcasts on tape (8,13,15-40) so I can go back and watch them.

The best that I've seen:

38 Pats over Panthers in Houston
36 Pats upset Rams
34 Rams over Titans
32 Broncos upset Packers
31 Packers over Pats
30 Cowboys over Steelers (hate the Cowboys, but a good game)
25 Giants over Bills (wide right)
23 49ers over Bengals
22 Redskins over Broncos (only because of 1 amazing quarter)
13 Steelers over Cowboys

The worst:

29 49ers over Chargers
27 Cowboys over Bills
26 Redskins over Bills
24 49ers over Broncos
20 Bears over Pats

Other than a couple of games, 20 - 29 was a bad stretch for the Super Bowl.

I forgot about the Washington/Denver superbowl. That was a good one too. It appeard that Denver was going to embarrass the Redskins, then in the second quarter, Doug Williams began to play like a man possessed. Years later I read his book and he said that he had an infection from a root canal and the entire weekend was one of such intense pain that he couldn't even celebrate the victory.
