Jared Gaither will enter 2007 draft

He is supposedly going to declare for this year draft. He needs to work on his techniques for year or two. It's quite obvious Gaither is a rare, physical phenom. Based on his potential, he could end up being the best tackle in the NFL for years to come. From athletic point of view, I have never seen any one like him, I cannot think of another lineman who runs like Gaither, nible and quick feet and arm length greater then 71/2 feet and he stands at 6'9 and weight at 350lbs.

This has been known for almost a week now.

Is there any chance he falls to the second round? Or is it looking pretty likely he will be taken in the first because this years class is somewhat weak.

I think 1st rd! The only way i think he will fall to the 2nd rd if he sucks @ the combine or in some bowl, like the senior bowl. If he does well @ the combines than I wouldn't mind if they take him 8 & groom him.

Well, it will be hard to make a good impression at the Senior Bowl since he is only a Sophomore.

He is a top 10 talent with out the hype...YET

This is the kind of guy Denver will draft with the one and gamble on. If they hit, they're lock at OLT for ten years.

Really? They could always change their style, but I don't see a Denver (who typically likes fast and smallish Olineman) taking a 6'9" 350lb OT. JMO.

He is an elite athlete no question about that. And Charles Spencer flew under the radar last year because ? No, they get a shot at the guy it ties in with Cuttler. They won't get a shot at him in round two. He is elite enough...you throw away the denver book on what size the guy is and take the gamble. You get a chance at Pace/Ogden type POTENTAL tallent...think they'll more than consider it since they are usually not in a position to take one of those guys. Foster is 338 BTW. NO , there are some real beasties in the west now. Can't see how they can pass that oportunity to lock down the o-line for a decade. All they'll have to do is plug and play with their interior if it works out. They could end up with the best tackle tandem in the NFL in a couple of seasons.

Just looked it up....Lepis is in what year going into next season ? One sure thing about o-lineman on the wrong side of thirty. You need to start looking for a young replacement. Lot of things make sense for that pick.

Well, you could be right.

Regardless, I don't think Denver gets the opportunity unless the trade up. I think Gaither is off the board by the time the Broncos pick.
