Miller Lite's latest ad (w/Jim Kelly)

I don't know if any one has caught the latest Miller Lite man law commercial or not. They're at their round table talking about fans leaving games early. One of them says fans should never leave the game early. Someone else says "What if you're team's down by 30?" Then Jim Kelly pipes up and says "Houston, Buffalo, 1993". Couldn't they have said "Oilers"? The team that lost that game that day hasn't called Houston home in 10 years. I've been trying for 13 years to forget that day and they pull that on me. Kelly didn't even play that game.

Wasn't it in the Oilers vs Bills game in the regular season just prior to that infamous game that Kelly was knocked out and Frank Reich took over?

By the way, they said it was double man law.....NO leaving befor the end of the game.

Reich was the Qb during the playoff game. I was thinking that it was a regular season game against the Oilers that J. Kelly got knocked out and never did return for the playoffs, hence Reich getting the start and subsequent victory against the Oilers in the playoffs. Or maybe it's just my bad memory.

Few probably remember that the Oilers did play Buffalo on consecutive weeks. The regular season finale was a Sunday Night Prime Time game at the Dome on Dec. 27 that the Oilers won 27-3. Kelly was knocked out early in that game with a knee sprain. I don't recall who replaced Kelly in that game - I assume it was Reich.

The wild card came was in Buffalo the following week and we were all pretty confident with Kelly out that it would be a very winnable game. And it looked that way for a while.

The doulbe man law was "no leaving that game early and no baking.

That game is painful, yes. But as a Houston fan you've got to be willing to taking the ribbing that comes with that game. :ok:

The Buffalo Bills can call the game whatever they want, because they're the ones who won it. They earned the right to rub it in, no matter how much it hurts.

As someone that sat in that hdvcdhcvdscvhgwcgc sgv stadium watching that game happen live, let me tell you that to this day, I still haven't fully recovered.

IMO, I would say that Houston - Buffalo are just the names of a city. If they would have said Oilers - Bills, then then they mention NFL teams, and that would be an issue with the league, which is not going to indorse a beer commercial or they would want to be compensated for it.

I actually shed some tears that day. I was totally confident that we were going to kick Buffalo's butt.
However, the Double Man-Law made me smile.....just for a second.
Ouch!
