Nelson in the first, Ross in the 2nd

Those two guys with our first two picks would make our defense scary...

A Healthy D-Line (Mario included).
A healthy Kailee Wong with a year wiser version of DeMeco (Scary), and Greenwood, who has come on very strongly (prob has nothing to do with DeMeco being out there with him).
And you add The ball hawk tandem in Aaron Ross & Reggie Nelson....

With a healthy D-Line we have the talent to consistently get pressure on the QB. They also tie up blockers allowing our linebackers to wreak havoc all over the field. And With that consistent pass rush, ball hawks like Reggie Nelson, Dunta Robinson, & Aaron Ross will cause a whole lot of turnovers.

Very scary defense we have forming... I see a top 8 defense within the next two years... hopefully...

Ross hasn't translated his measurables onto the field as he should. For all his track speed, he has trouble staying with recievers and then making the first, open field tackle. I just can't justify spending a 2nd round pick on a nickle back who can return punts. Revis in the first could do that but actually be a #1 CB. Wynn is ok at punts, and I don't feel Ross would be the best direction for us to go with that high a pick.

I was watching a little special on the Florida Gators, and every week they give an award to the best hit of the game....They call it "Hit City"....

And guess who's the Mayor....

I think Landry is a good solid Safety, but I honestly believe Nelson has a chance to be a game changing type player....

It's not that Ross isnt any good, but he lacks experience. He's made some great plays this year and has shown some really good cover skills, but I think he needs alot of refinement. He has alot of upside, but I think we're at the point where we're looking for players who can step in right away.

Fred Bennett is the same thing. All measurables. He has no ball skills.

I'm right on with picking Reggie in the first (or Landry). In the 2nd I think we could find a better CB that slips there....hopefully not for a reason though. I would go with the best cb there Unless that would be a reach. I wouldn't mind picking up the LB Bishop from CAl in a later round after watching the holiday bowl.

1. Reggie Nelson
2. Marcus McCauley, Daymien Hughes, ..etc ..cb
3. O-line/ D-line (Kalil-C or Mebane-DT)
4. LB Something Bishop from Cal (is he a 4th rder?)
5. bpa
6. bpa
7. bpa

not real sure in later rounds. but have seen punters in the 6/7th in a lot of peoples. from baylor or somewhere else?

What do y'all think. I think your dead on with FS then CB with 1 and 2.

Am I the only one who thinks Ross just isn't that good?

No, I second that motion. I don't like his footwork at all and have never been overly impressed with him. I think he'd be a good fit in a tampa cover 2 type system but I'm not very fond of him for our team, definitely not in the 2nd round. I also don't like Reggie Nelson overly much, I definitely like Landry better and at this point I like Michael Griffin better than Nelson too. Either way we need an offensive playmaker in there somewhere too so taking defense in the 1st and 2nd would really depend on who else is available at those picks.

Landry had a good game last night, now we gotta see what Nelson does on Monday. The Nelson-Ross combo would be nice, but I'd prefer a skilled offensive player with the first pick then defence in the second round. We'll see who's left, but JT or AP would be my first options.

Am I the only one who thinks Ross just isn't that good?

Numbers don't lie. They were 119th in pass defense this year after the regular season. Terrel Brown is a day two prospect.Ross will be drafted and eased in somewhere. And then there is the safety prospect. So the 64 dollar question with this group is, for all of that tallent back there...where were the nimbers ? I mean I know Huff and Vasser were good. But that good ? And if a dummy like me is aking that question, what do you think the HC's and GM's are going to do when they watch the film ? They're going to fall. Baring mine numbing workouts at the combine, they're going to fall
