Bills Fan here, asking about needs

Im doing a mock draft and I choose the Texans because they are a interesting rebuilding team. The only need I know about is safety and would like some help to know the other big needs.

Because the Texans have needs across the board, BPA seems the logical answer. Recent comments from Kubiak lead me to believe that they're leaning to an offensive playmaker or a pass rusher with their 1st pick.

Well our last 4 1st round picks have been defense.

Dunta Robinson
Jason Babin
Travis Johnson
Mario Williams

We have alot of needs, so I'll throw them ut in no particular order......

QB, RB, OL, DL, OLB, CB, S

Like Lucky said earlier, its probably BPA.

I'd have them as QB, RB, OL, and DB.

Lots of holes. Here's how I rank them based on our draft order.

1. OT- If Joe Thomas is there, but he won't be.
2. RB- Adrian Peterson will be gone also, but Marshawn Lynch would be a better fit for the offense.
3. CB
4. OLB
5. S
6. C- We need depth, Hodgdon may not be the answer for the future
7. OG- we need depth here also
8. DT
9. Punter

IMO our needs are as follows (in order by necessity) ...

offensive line (OT, C, RG)
safety
outside linebacker
cornerback
defensive tackle (pass rushing)
runningback (depending on DD/DW)
quarterback (would be higher, but i highly doubt we'll draft one on the first day, if at all)

we dont need a qb in our first round but a good pick would be a big d-lineman that takes up space and frees up Williams and Ryans for more behind line tackles. another good pick would be a rb who we could put into a role as a rookie because no ones really sure whats happening with the back positions.

It's more a question of what isn't a need:

MLB spot is set.
WR #1 is set. #2 is mostly set, but EMo is up there in years, so a late round prospect is not unthinkable.
1 of 2 DE spots is set. Mario can play either left or right end, so a pass rusher is not out of the question.
CB #2 (possession) is set. CB #1 (speed) is not.
TEs are in decent shape.
FB is in decent shape.


Free Safety and CB#1 are critically weak. We also have the traditional OT woes, though some improvement has been made. Some people think we need a new QB, but I don't think the team feels that way.

Gary Kubiak says he wants playmakers. With that being said
Joe Thomas But will already be gone
Marshawn Lynch Best playmaker on offense
Reggie Nelson Best playmaker on defense

As of right now those three players are the only ones I will be satisfied with in the first round.

RB Depending on Domanick Williams aka Domanick Davis's health
LT Depending on Charles Spencer health


G Pitts is overated Weary is underrated IMO

OLB to replace Orr

CB Opposite Dunta Robinson

FS We have two SS in CC Brown and Glenn Earl

DT Seth Paynes career might be over. Travis Johnson is a bust so far. Other than that we have a bunch of guys off the street. Who have actually played pretty good but arent much more than backups.
