Picking 8th doesn't look that bad. The Texan can definatly get some good help at that position.

Have a Question or two or three or four(LOL).
How does it work if you trade down?
And what is the Value of a 8th pick this year?
If I'm not mistaken is not a very DEEP draft this year so does this give 8 more value?
I've always watched the draft but never got into the things like trading down/up. Would'nt it be better for the team to have more picks at a slightly lower talent level than one high pick?

I don't think this years draft will be that deep at all. Look at how good last year's draft class was and how mediocre this years college football season was. I think WR is really the only position that is deep this draft class, and the one thing the Texans don't need is another WR. So unless there is a badass WR available and they can get a good deal to trade down a spot or two from someone who needs a WR, I would just say draft the best player still availble at #8 whatever position that player may be.

i agree with the statement that the reciever position is the strongest in the draft and that the texans dont especially need another strong one but i would not be disapointed, if he went to the draft, to see Jarret in a texan uniform. but this probably wont happen considering that we have Johnson and Mouldes each coming back. i think a reasonable wish is for a big d-tackle that will take up space and free up Williams to sack more than 4.5 times in a season.

How do we pick in front of Miami? Thought because we beat them that it put them in front of us?? Asling this because I really don't know??

Anyone care to take a gander at a mock of the first ten picks, assuming everyone picked?

1. Oakland - Brady Quinn, QB, Notre Dame
2. Detroit - Adrian Peterson, RB, Oklahoma
3. Cleveland - Calvin Johnson, WR, Georgia Tech
4. Tampa Bay - Alan Branch, DT, Michigan
5. Arizona - Joe Thomas, OT, Wisconsin
6. Washington - Levi Brown, OT, Penn State
7. Minnesota - Leon Hall, DB, Michigan
8. Houston - LaRon Landry, DB, LSU
9. Atlanta - Glen Dorsey, DT, LSU
10. San Francisco - Dwayne Jarrett, WR, USC

Just an idle thought...

I would have thought someone would get Troy Smith within the Top 10. :hides:

You don't think that Cal's Lynch will be a top 10 pick?
