Titans miss playoffs

Thanks goodness! I dont have to watch the Titans in the playoffs! I know some of you other texans fans are happy about this one:ok:

I think the AFC South will be an interesting division next year. The Titans are obviously on the cusp of being playoff caliber. Indy already is. Houston will improve over the offseason and Jacksonville is still so-so. I'm not saying it's anyone's division, but there's certainly going to be more parity in the division than there has been.

All that said, screw VY, Bud Adams and the Titans, go Texans!!!

The only thing I find disappointing is that the Titans and Saints made improvements and gave sports analysts a lot to talk about after a disappointing season last year. Hey, I ain't mad at em. Bud isn't one of my favorites either, but we have to stop making him look good.

Yeah it sucks. If we had only taken care of business we'd be planning to play the Colts this Saturday.

We'll back with a vengence next year.

This year wasn't our year anyway.

Go Titans.

That was a close call. I can't believe all the stars aligned for the Titans with all the losses they needed, but they couldn't pull off the one thing they actually had control over - their own game.

I'm relieved.

I think that in order for the Titans to be successful next year, VY is going to have to really work hard this off-season on his passing....Teams have seen what VY can do, and the second time around they'll be prepared....He'll have to add a new weapon to his arsenal of talents....

Titans this are the same as the Dolphins were last season. Titans will be a trendy pick to make the Super Bowl next season then fall flat on their faces.

The Titans are moving in the right direction, and I'm sure there are a lot of Titans fans who are saying "if only they'd started Vince sooner." They should continue to improve over the offseason, and, if the Texans don't start over with a new QB, the AFC will be real competitive.

However, this is just the start of the offseason, and who knows - the Texans could land some swank free agent deal. They've definitely brought in the tools to make something happen.

I love how wrong you are going to be. We don't have a brand new QB coming off tearing his ACL, PCL, and MCL. We have Vince.

If you want to make a bet on next year I'm all for it....

I won the bet this year too.

The Titans' $40M under the gap worries me as much as anything. They can fix a few weaknesses if they spend it wisely.

yeah, the NFL tends to be The Great Equalizer. Nobody can be a one-trick pony in this league (not saying VY is a OTP). I remember when "running QBs" was the big thing and analysts were talking about the NFL having to change the rules, but then guys like Manning and Brady - traditional pocket passers - showed everyone how it's done.

I'm hoping they think that they aren't far away, and in doing so, don't spend all of that $40 million. The Titans have a shot of being a true powerhouse in the AFC if they get the right players around VY. Scary stuff for our division.

Going into the season the Titans were expected to be among the worse teams in the league.

Going into the last week of play they were still in contention for a playoff berth.

They have an excellent coach and they did right by not only drafting Vince but they have done a great job with his talents.

I'm not a Titans fan but they had a very nice year.

This is the NFL though, remember that. A few years ago, the Texans and Jaguars were supposed to be rising teams in the AFC South. Well both have flopped for the most part. The Jags have been a decent team, but they have lived up to what everyone thought they would be. And everyone knows what's happened to us. The Redskins, after making the playoffs last year, looked like they improved before this season started. Look at what happened to them. The Panthers looked like a legitimate Super Bowl contender before the season and now look at them. Just because a team looks like it's getting better doesn't necessarily mean they will be better next season. I'm not sold on the Titans being a playoff team next year until they actually go out and do it.

I think the Titans will definitely be a contender next year. They have I think a 40 million under the cap allowance to play with this offseason so they'll get some quality players that way, Vince has proven he can play and I think Fisher is one of the better coaches out there. But there are no definites in sports; that is certainly true.
