Atlanta Falcons fire Jim Mora as coach

This is a firing that caught me off-guard. Some would say its not a suprise but clearly if he's going the GM is going as well or should. They never were able to acquire a WR for Vick to throw too.

Hasn't the GM only been there for 2 years though? Can't think of his name, but he was the GM that built the Bucs team that won the Super Bowl.
 
Mora will likely be a front runner for the AZ job. Probably windup getting a winner if he gets it. I won't be very surprised if Sherman is in the AZ mix either. Other than having to deal with the Bidwells, the AZ job might be of interest to a lot of coaches. Needs O-line big time, but there is some seriouse talent there.

I hope they fire Greg Knapp too. I am tired of watching that busted offense.

But everyone trying to blame Vick for everything probably hasn't watched the games this year.
The defense has been horrible. I think the passing defense is like 28th.
And the points per game is really high considering how much Atlanta plays clock control. Vick has been good enough to win 11 games for the Falcons, the defense has shown up for 6 of them. Anyone catch the Dallas cowboys lately? That's how the Atlanta D played most of the year. Makes little sense with the "names" they got on defense . The talent is there, and Mora a former DC was not getting it done.

But here I am, injecting some truth into the matter, continue the Vick bash fest you Sheep.
 
The reason he was fired is because he went on a radio show and said he wants the job coaching the University of Washington next season.

it raised a big stink.. people saying he wants out of Atlanta and such. Pissed off the owner.. so now he is fired.

Maybe he will take that University of Washington job now.
 
The only surprise to me is that Blank didn't wait a few days to make it look like he was thinking it over. The local speculation was that this was decided weeks ago.

Lipping off about quitting if your dream job opened up + losing 3 straight = pack your bags.
