Did you guys expect the Texans to do any better than what they are doing this year?

Did you honestly believe the Texans would make the playoffs this year?

Cant you understand that Kubiak's personnel isnt fully implanted into this team?

Arent you happy with the improvement the defense has made this year? Now think, we still have another offseason to improve that even more.

Dont you remember how good Charles Spencer looked? When he returns cant you be optimistic and believe that hes going return to form or maybe be better.

Now, i didnt expect the Texans to be doing any better than what they are doing now. I think by next year this team will be really good because alot of our o-line will be healthy plus the 2 rookies (Spencer and Winston) will have expirence under their belt.

The Texans better not draft a QB (1st round) to start next year or you guys will be complaining about the teams play. Draft in the later 1st day rounds for developement of the QB.

Either you keep Carr for one more year or you trade him for some crap like Jake Plummer or Jeff Garcia.

Im in the keep Carr camp because, what other choice do we have? I want to see him have pressure on him to perform. If he doesnt hes out. Let him have his second year under Kubiak. Be Patient and be optimistic.

Mario - 10+ sacks next year (he has a lot of tackles for a rookie DE with a foot problem)

i thought 6-10 but hoped for 7-9, i dont think kubiak has to personel that he wants yet, and no i didnt expect the texans to be a playoff team, if anyone thinks that the texans should be a playoff team, they need to get there head straight

I thought we'd be 13-3 at the end of the season. I thought we'd sweep the Colts(but early fumbles in the first game pretty much killed that)..... I thought we'd sweep the Titans(but fumbles killed that as well).... I thought we'd sweep the Jags(thank God for defensive football)....

I think we should have won in Philly & Washington... we should have beat Buffalo... we should have beat the Giants....

But hey, new coaching staff..... and well.... you know.

But of course I thought the Texans would be in the play-offs this year. Just like the teams that picked #2, #3, & #4 have a shot to get in....... I figured we'd be doing as well as they are..... we've got more talent than the Titans & the Jets..... why not??

Did you guys expect the Texans to do any better than what they are doing this year? No, I predicted 5 wins

Did you honestly believe the Texans would make the playoffs this year? No, see previous

Cant you understand that Kubiak's personnel isnt fully implanted into this team? Of course, I've been saying all along that most of the players on the 2-14 team will be gone by 2008

Arent you happy with the improvement the defense has made this year? 28th in the league in defense is hardly an improvement. The only reason we shut down the Colts last week is because our defense wasn't on the field very much. Thank you Ron Dayne.

Now think, we still have another offseason to improve that even more.

Dont you remember how good Charles Spencer looked? Yes I do

Well your right about that, last year was the year to draft a QB in the first round. We should go after a vereran QB or at least wait until the second round.

Either you keep Carr for one more year or you trade him for some crap like Jake Plummer or Jeff Garcia. Yep, Jake looks like crap and I didn't like him at AZ either, but Jeff is a different story, he looks pretty food to me. Of course, my Aunt Fannie playing QB looks pretty good to me right now. One things for sure, she can out play Carr. But, then again, Sage out played Carr too. Hmmmm.

Im in the keep Carr camp because, what other choice do we have? I want to see him have pressure on him to perform. If he doesnt hes out. Let him have his second year under Kubiak. Be Patient and be optimistic. Why should I have any patient any more. Look at what VY is doing for Tennessee. All three R-O-O-K-I-E QBs are better then Carr. Carr is shredded, he's wasted, he's taken one too many hits to the head. He CAN'T play worth a CRAP (and I'm being nice).

Mario - 10+ sacks next year (he has a lot of tackles for a rookie DE with a foot problem) I hope your right on this one, but given your opinion on Carr, well, lets just say "I wouldn't put any money on your predictions". It might have been the injury, but the dude looked pretty lazy to me.

i'm probably not your target audience because i agree with most of what you're saying, but here ya go anyways ...

Did you guys expect the Texans to do any better than what they are doing this year? yes, i was thinking 8-8. where i missed is assuming that kubiak alone could win some of the tight games that we lost (buffalo, tennessee, giants).

Did you honestly believe the Texans would make the playoffs this year? nope

Cant you understand that Kubiak's personnel isnt fully implanted into this team? fully understand that and that's why i'm not heartbroken over this season. with the amount of personnel turnover this year and probably next year, i'm not going to jump off of a cliff if we dont go undefeated. those that are so broken up about this year have obviously forgotten how utterly pathetic last season was ... doubting if we'd win a single game.

Arent you happy with the improvement the defense has made this year? Now think, we still have another offseason to improve that even more. very, but there are some glaring holes that we just didnt have an opportunity to fix (free safety being the biggest problem). if this offseason is anything like kubiak's first, we could see our defense becoming something that everyone talks about.

Dont you remember how good Charles Spencer looked? When he returns cant you be optimistic and believe that hes going return to form or maybe be better. i am, and have been, projecting charles spencer as a hall of famer ... provided of course that the injury isnt career threatening. i doubt anyone's higher on spencer than i am at this point.

Draft in the later 1st day rounds for developement of the QB. unless a quarterback is PERFECT in kubiak's eyes, i find it very unlikely we'll take a quarterback on the first day in any forseeable draft. if we do draft a quarterback in the first couple of rounds, that means to me that kubiak thinks the kid is extremely special and i'll be pretty excited.

Either you keep Carr for one more year or you trade him for some crap like Jake Plummer or Jeff Garcia. the more likely route to replace carr would be plummer or garcia, however i'm not sure whether or not kubiak is ready to give up on carr ... although i certainly am.

Im in the keep Carr camp because, what other choice do we have? I want to see him have pressure on him to perform. If he doesnt hes out. Let him have his second year under Kubiak. Be Patient and be optimistic. i'm patient, i'm optomistic, but both have run out where carr's concerned ... from watching his demeanor on the field, his mechanics, and his presence, i personally dont think that carr is salvagable as a houston texan.

Mario - 10+ sacks next year (he has a lot of tackles for a rookie DE with a foot problem)i think 10+ is a very reachable goal. his conditioning and the foot injury seem to be slowing him down as the games and the season progress. both of which, along with improved technique, should be much better next season. i didnt figure he'd be an immediate impact, but i expect solid performance next season and by year 3 i hope he's getting probowl considerations.

You may want to take back the Garcia comment...:secret:

Some valid points. I think Sage has some real potential and would like to see him get more play time. If David doesn't become more of a leader on the field, I see him having a future as a very fine back-up Q and later, commentator. :hides:

I picked 6 wins and if they beat the Browns, they'll hit that mark. Everything else is really kind of irrelevant. Next year, I expect 8-8 and the year after, I expect playoffs. How they get from Point A to Point B matters not one bit to me. All the gnashing of teeth, hyperbole, and player hating doesn't matter one whit if they win the games. I think if we had a better QB, our ceiling next year or the following year could be higher, but I really doubt any QB short of an elite one could have gotten this team to seven wins or more this year. This team just isn't set up to be conducive to good QB play. Maybe next year.

I have said 6 win since TC and I put my money where my mouth is in Vegas with the over/under at 5.5. Neeeeeddd to win the Browns game guys.

At the beginning of the season, I predicted 10 - 6. Mid-season, I regrouped and said, 6 - 10. We can do that. We really missed a couple of games that we should have won. We could easily have ended the season 8-8. I'm ok with the progress. We can't win the Superbowl one year after going 2 - 14. I'm very proud to be a Texan.
:texan:

Ideal 8-8
Realistic 7-9

Had we not self destructed during several games, we could have been there. I'll take 6 wins and a V against Indy.

We are exactly where I thought we would be as far as wins, except I thought the passing game would improve instead of regress. Carr has more 5 yard passes (higher completion %) but has thrown 11 TD's. So we complete more passes under coverage but we can't score from the passing game unless we are in the red zone or AJ goes up to battle two defenders with a jump ball.

I'd say the defense is on track, the running game is coming around but the passing game is still dysfunctional.

I was thinking 8-8 after we had success with Lundy and Morrency in preseason. Of course, I didn't know that Spencer would be injured while our backup LT gone, most of the D-line depleted, and Flannagan just apparently not as good as I thought. These things happen though.

8-8 was probably wishfull thinking though with no #2 corner, no FS, and no really proven RB going into the season.

I called for 6-10, merely because I predicted Kubiak would have some first year issues as a head coach, and he would spend a majority of the season figuring out who here has a long term future and who's hanging on for the season.

Did you guys expect the Texans to do any better than what they are doing this year?

Yes I was looking for 10 wins

Did you honestly believe the Texans would make the playoffs this year?

Yes

Cant you understand that Kubiak's personnel isnt fully implanted into this team?

Now I can

Arent you happy with the improvement the defense has made this year? Now think, we still have another offseason to improve that even more.

Very happy expecially with all th players on IR

Dont you remember how good Charles Spencer looked? When he returns cant you be optimistic and believe that hes going return to form or maybe be better.

I hope fully recovers from the injury---I think Eric Winston has gained valuable playing experience. The offensive line is starting to come together

Ist day draft needs to go to defensive lineman, linebacker (here is the dreamer in me --another Demeco--)and or secondary

Either you keep Carr for one more year or you trade him for some crap like Jake Plummer or Jeff Garcia.

Trade Carr use Sage next year

Im in the keep Carr camp because, what other choice do we have? I want to see him have pressure on him to perform. If he doesnt hes out. Let him have his second year under Kubiak. Be Patient and be optimistic.

I will not sell my tickets if Kubiak wants to keep Carr

Mario - 10+ sacks next year (he has a lot of tackles for a rookie DE with a foot problem)

He did not step up to the plate this year but he is young. Just think if he improves as much as Travis Johnson did from his first to his second year
Next year it will be Super Mario.

This season is not even over and I am looking foward to another Kubiak draft and next year and on to the playoffs.

Winning three times as many games than we did last year with an entirely new coaching staff, scheme, and many new faces is pretty good imo. Just think, if we can win four more games next year like we did this year, that will put us in the playoff hunt!!!

You really want to be honest, this team is headed no where.

A Classic Texan Fan is one that is satisfied with 5 wins or so with no winning season in the foreseeable future because the team plays like crap.

Sure, 5 wins is an improvement from 2 wins and no expected a playoff run.

However, if you really want to be honest, this team has not turned the corner and I don't see how the next draft and maybe an overpriced free agency pickup will make that much difference for 2007. More or less the same, come on... is 2 wins or 5 wins that much different if you really evaluated the team's play?

I don't think you see many 2 win teams turn it around and become playoff teams. But you'll frequently see 5-7 win teams become playoff teams the next year. (I'll have to sift through the stats and take a look at that some time.)

Personally, I think this team is in much better shape than it ever has been. If we make the right moves this offseason, I think we can make a run at the playoffs next year. We still have a long way to go but unlike at the end of last season, I think we're moving in the right direction.

But, I want to ask you, what would you prefer, a bunch of fans that are "satisfied" with the way things are going and are looking on the bright side and cheering for their team even though they're losers OR would you prefer a bunch of fans than just complain and whine and talk about how everything sucks? And what do you expect a "non-satisfied" fan to do? I think it's silly to talk about being unsatisfied as a fan and not settling for the team's performance. Either you're a fan and back your team through thick and thin or you're not a fan. The only thing a fan can really do to show displeasure is to stop cheering for the team, to stop being a fan.

I love this team whether they're winning or losing and I think they're on the way to becoming good.

Me too. Winston truely surprised me at the end of the year at RT. He can run block for sure. And....Pitts IS our left gaurd. Leave him alone. Another great day by him pulling around to the right.

Pitts is probably the only lineman we have that if we cut him, would immediatly be a starter for 90% of the other teams.
