I want a Hybrid!!!

No not the Carr......

But the freakish powerhouse our Texans could turn into!!!

An Offense that plays like the Broncos and a Defense that is Raven-esque!!!

Accomplishing this feat is very feasible in my lil Battle Red Head!!!

Offense :
1) We must address our offensive line in a real way again this offseason. Whether it be via the draft or FA I dont care. A mixture of each is the norm and best way to go. Allow Kubes to find his diamond in the ruff in the later rounds and find a vet or two to provide extra depth. The O-line is the major reason we have been unable to see the Denver style O that Kubiak is a genius at running. The injury bug hit hard this year and stifled all progress but a another off season together and an upgrade here or there should shore it up.

2) Is our RB situation. With the emergence of the Dayne Trayne and a possible return of the fan favorite D.Davis there is a big ? mark as to who will be our #1 RB next year. Lundy has shown flashes of being a good RB but has been inconsistent and is best suited as a change of pace back. So we may need to pick up a FA if the price is right or I'm sure Kubes will look to find a solid guy in the later rounds who could turn out to be a star in the system. Drafting a RB on the first day will most likely not happen and really should'nt happen imo.Once again with another off season implementing his system and keeping the bulk of our O-line intact we should see a much improved running game.

3)Our favorite subject.....David Carr!!!! I believe he has shown SOME improvement this season but not nearly enough. When I watch him it seems as though his head is just all screwed up. Which I understand but do not neccesarily forgive him for. I'm looking for him to make a strong comeback next season though. One b/c he will also have had a full season and two offseasons under the QB genius Kubiak and will most likely have the bulk of his starting O-line in front of him for more than half a season. Kubiak is an excellent mechanic and will get our Carr running at full speed. The leash will be taken off next year and I'm expecting him to STEP IT UP with all the tools in place!!!

As far as our WR, TE and FB positions go I think we are set. They are all compotent skilled players who will only improve with our improved Offense.

Deffense :
1) Our DBs' need to be addressed first and foremost. Faggins is a play maker but does'nt have the speed to be a cover corner. We need to go HARD after N.Clemmens and get him in a Texans uniform. Every game/highlight I've seen him in he's incredible. Throw as much money as neccesary w/out being stupid to get him in Houston in my opinion. Then use our first round selection to get Landry or Nelson.( I'm not a draft expert but have heard numerous good things about both of them) That would give us an outstanding DB core for years to come. That would give us a ball hawk FS, a compotent CB partner for D-Rob, and wha la we've fixed our DB problem!!!

2) The next step in becoming a Raven-esque D is to get another bad a** next to our ROY Meco!!! To address this problem I suggest that we use our 2nd rd pick on either B.Davis/R.Alexander.(Once again I'm no draft expert but have heard they both have a possibility of slipping to the 2nd) I have watched Davis bust people in the mouth and he reminds me alot of Meco. Either one would be a great fit and would add to the physical, smash mouth presence our D is beginning to establish. If we dont draft either then get a good FA like June or Briggs if the $ is right.

I think we may need to get some depth at DT but our rotation has looked good this year even after our starters were knocked out. At DE we are set with Mario/Weaver/Babin/Peek.

This is my dream of our Bronco/Raven bad a** smash mouth '07 Texans football team!!!!With all of these components in place I believe we would be a serious playoff contender going anywhere from 9-7 to 11-5!! We played very well in our div. this year going 3-3 with two tuff losses to Ten. Add in the heartbreakers to N.Y. and Buffalo and we could have been looking at 10-6 this year!!! O well, let's go beat the crud out of everyone NEXT year!!!!

I don't believe it is too far fetched but if you do or have any additional comments I would love some feedback!!!

GO:logo: in '07!!!

And beat the snot out of the Browns!!!

I would rather have Samuels than Clements but would be elated to have either. I also really really want Adalius Thomas but I doubt Balt lets him go. I would also like to see two new DT next season, whether they come from the draft, FA, or both. I would also like to draft Landry in the first round. If we could address all four of those needs we will have a top 10 defense easily.

this probably wont happen but i love the idea nice job.
Thanks, I like the idea alot too. But may I ask WHY it is you don't think that it will/could happen? I think it's a pretty feasible scenario. The only thing I could see as being a stretch would be using our first two picks on the D again. But why not? The needs we have on Offense are RB/OL which Kubes is known to be good at finding in rounds 3-6.

Any other thoughts people?

No one likes the idea of a Bronco/Raven Hybrid team that reaks havok on the NFL in '07? Like a big Godzilla monster marching across the USA devouring other teams Offenses only to leave a BLOODY trail leading back to Reliant Stadium? Huh, huh, anybody?:fishing:

A Wiper is a hybrid between white bass and striped bass. Wiper have become a very popular sportfish because of their hard fighting. Wiper are a schooling fish that can be found "busting" prey fish on the surface during the summer. Casting shad imitations or various lures at the "busting" prey and holding on tight is a fun method for catching wiper. Trolling can also be effective.

I've caught, and ate, wiper here in Kansas. They fight like a dream, and taste just as great. An average size wiper will make you think that you've got a WHALE on the line.

Ok now seriously does anyone have anything to say about my super serial plans to turn this team into a Godzilla/Bronco/Raven hybrid monster?

Please read the first post and add your thoughts. It took me forever to type it up and I don't post too often and would really appreciate some honest feedback!!

Good or bad......:ok:

Just wait and let people post. Just because you thread hasn't reached five pages in five hours doesn't mean people won't post in it.

I pretty much agree with your thread starting post, therefore I can't argue with you and add to your thread length. It has been proven that, if you want to make a really long thread, you must piss people off--see SWTBound. He'll give you pointers. :)

I like the concept of the positions. But I think the Texans are not going to a top five choice for N.Clemmens or any other front line FA. That said Sarg01 has another thread that address some real possible solutions to the FA signings http://forums.houstontexans.com/showthread.php?t=33341

I too want an offense similar to Denver and a defense like the Ravens/Bears. I want to attack all the time and create turnovers and mistakes. Ever since the 85 Bears that has been may favorite type of defense.

On offense add Chris Taylor to the mix, he has the speed to be a good change of pace back for Dayne. And do not count on DDavis to be back, if he is great, just do not count on it.

I agree with you add a cover corner, and a good one maybe CB Roderick Hood from Philly(Thanks Sarg01). Draft Landry and you have a solid secondary.

Add a couple of DTs to Thomas Johnson and Anthony Maddox and you have a good rotation. Guys like FAs DT Ian Scott Chicago ,and/or Terdell Sands Oakland.

Then you need to upgrade the Sam LB. Guys like Rufus Alexander, Earl Everett, Desmond Bishop, Dan Connor all look like they could upgrade this team after the 1st round.

If I am real lucky any one of those guys drops to the 3rd and I take OLT Staley in the 2nd.

I could give a 5 round wish list, but it will change in a few weeks anyway, so...
