Dayne is going to be a perfect backup to DD in '07

The only place DD is going is to the moblity store. Last report I saw on here was DD has no cartledge in one knee. The come back has been greatly exaggerated.

Man, I don't think DD is ever coming back. It's been said time and time again that docs say he needs surgery to get fully healed and he's said that he will never get surgery again. Ron Dayne looked damn good today and I'm happy to have him here.

Can't count on DD coming back healthy. Even if he somehow manages to come back we still need a good running back.

Wow, I guess I was wrong. Is Dayne going to be a starter here or we're going to bring in someone else (Chris Brown?)?

i want dayne subing with DD so as help keep DD healthy & to give us the "thunder & lightning" effect even though DD is not exactly lightning.

Ok.. you all need a bit more clarification..

DD knee is almost bone on bone and it is not something that grows back (refering to the cartildge). DD at the end of this year will probably be forced to retire from football, because it will only get worse, and more painful.

As much as i want DD back, its very unlikely that hes coming back. But i wouldn't take a rb with our 1st pick. Taylor seems to be a guy who could do some damage when given the opportunity and more explosive than lundy. 1st pick on o-line Thomas, no doubt.

We're not going to be in position to get Thomas either. We can go ahead and forget AP and Joe Thomas because they will go at least in the first 5 picks and we'll be more around 8-9 I would guess.

Do you think we can get adrian peterson next year (or whoever the top back is coming in to the draft), or will the lions or raiders pick him up first?

This is the way I understand it as well, and it is very unfortunate. I think B. Westbrook of the Eagles has a very similiar condition also.

4 syllables for you

La Mont Jor Dan

If Oakland doesnt make him a free agent, then maybe we could trade them Carr for him. I think he is a top tier running back that just hasnt been put in the right situation since he left New York.

Agreed. We're back down in LaRon Landry range...unless they like the Big DT from Big Blue better. Might draft Lynch...but I don't think so . No evidence just a hunch.

Lions love Kevin Jones too much, they won't draft Peterson...Raiders maybe, but they have WAY bigger needs.....(DE on the other side of Burgess, QB, O-line help)

I think we are going to be too far down to draft AP. I think we will either draft LaRon Landry or Marshawn Lynch (who could be better than AP)

I would not mind getting LaRon Landry at all. He could be our John Lynch.. but better in coverage.

After watching CC Brown and Petey today, we've gotta go safety or CB if someone's there. Marshwan Lynch is another one, but I just think we have to bolster the secondary and use a high pick unless there's a monster on the OL available.

I seriously hope that we do not factor a healthy DD in to our offseason decisions. If he returns then it's nothing more than a bonus and he can earn a spot like everyone else. RB should be a priority along with the secondary next year.

And how exactly are we going to do that with a pick inbetween 7 and 10.

I don't believe DD's ever coming back anyway--and I'm not so sure he'd beat out a healthy Dayne right now either (if he were healthy too).

There Could be alot of good RB in the 08 draft.

Adrian Peterson if he doesnt come out this year.
Mike Hart
Darren McFadden
Steve Slaton
Jamaal Charles

Isn't it strange how a RB on this team has a good game and now everybody's all excited about replacing our RBs? I don't think RB is our greatest need. Did you notice those two times our DBs got their butts burned? We need a FS and a corner. You're not supposed to get replaced for proving you can do your job.

The only way we can go O-line in the first round is to trade down, otherwise we will have to reach. It looks like Sam Baker and Jake Long are staying in school.

As posted many many times before, DD will not play with pain--has even said he will not play until the knee feels like it use to.

I thought DR's cleared him to play, so I'm not sure how he can refuse to play and still get paid for it...any take on this?...even with a guaranteed contract, if you're cleared to play, I'd think the options are 'limited.'

AD is the only guy on your list that COULD come out.

DD has been cleared to play, but I doubt he will play through the pain. IIRC, he doesn't have any cartilage in his knees.
