If Jake & Kubiak pick up where they left off(before the AFC Championship game that is......), If the Defense continues to improve, I could see a Texans vs Broncos Wildcard game....


I'm not a big supporter of bringing Jake to Houston, but..........
 
I could see us benching Plummer half way through the year for our new rookie QB too.
 
That or we get lucky with a late first day draft selection of a QB.

We really need to get a free safety though...it would make our defense alot better.

I think we may be picking too high to draft Landry. I am sick of drafting for needs. Let's just go with the best player available. If we can trade down to around 8 or 9, that is fine. I am assuming that the Texans will pick 4-6. I think G.Adams or Branch "The Tree' from Big Blue would be the way to go if we are picking 4-6. I still don't think our defensive line is capable of doing enough. I totally get what you are saying though. Build the team through our defense and have capable QB play from Plummer. it's a recipe for success but probably not a recipe for championships.

at this point in time I will take a little success in order to improve things around here in the locker room and fanbase as well as our national perception.

the locker room is a mess right about now....

Adams and Branch would be great players to add to this team....I just don't think they spend another 1st round pick on Dline. We've done that for 3 years in a row with Babin, TJ, and Mario. Adding another 1st rounder on the line would get expensive for that one area.

I can just see Casserly and McNair passing the crack pipe. Yeah what we need is a QB with our organizations first pick. We got big Boselli at LT to protect him. This is what happens when someone makes too much money too easily. What a bunch of idiots. Boselli, Buchanon, and on and on. Idiots.

And my remark to that is that anyone who thought we were going to win 13 games either isn't lucid, or is smoking too much wacky tobaccy. Before he starts making more stupid predictions that won't come true, I would like to see him defend the last one. :yes:
 
BPA in the first is always what ya gotta do. unless it's just ridiculous (i.e. the colts drafting a QB, the chargers drafted a RB, etc)

The point(and my defense) of my last prediction, was that it was the preseason. & going by what we knew...... how our team looked... I think it was a lucid prediction. One that was made outside of what other teams were doing.

Miami was supposed to be in the SuperBowl, So was Carolina...... Pittsburg & Washington were locks for the playoffs....

you never know.

At the time, I believed we had every reason to believe we could go 13-3....

But all that changed whent he regular season started... Come September of '07, we'll be undefeated once again, and I'll be rooting for us to go 13-3.

Sides, I don't want Jake..... I'm not predicting anything. But it just dawned on me why some folks would welcome Jake in Houston.

With Carr at QB next year 5-11
With Sage at QB next year 9-7
With Plummer at QB next year 9-7

in other words dont pay for a Plummer when you already have a wise Sage.

Mora was and still is always good for a sound bite. Based on his own son's similar ability, it must run in the family.
 
I am soooo against signing Plummer unless he comes very cheap.

Plummer is a heart breaker, just good enough to lose for you with his mistakes. I guess with Carr you get limited mistakes (except the darn fumbles) but no big plays, with Carr you might get the big plays but your going to get big mistakes too.

I would like to see a decent rookie come in and have Carr, Rosenfels, Van Pelt battle it out in TC.
 
i am somewhat OK with the prospect of Plummer or Rosenfels at QB next year. so when and where do we find the future, meaning someone that comes here and learns the system, etc...
 
Completely off the topic but that Stat about Kevin Walters is pretty interesting that is a very high % of first downs per catch.....

The thing with Plummer is he is up there in age and when he gets pressured he throw ints. He's not as mobile as he once was I just think he would be another dead weight free agent that we end up paying to come here in hopes he will find so youth and end up riding the bench. How about we start sighing free agents that are not past their prime. If not lets have Sherman sweet talk Farve to come play with us ( wont happen) but not Jake.
 
We all have to remember that this Texans management has only had 1 first round pick....which is Mario Williams(and the new GM wasnt even around at the time of that selection) so I wouldnt think that it would be too far fetched do think that they would take another DE or DT if he is the BPA...Although I do see them trying to model what the broncos have done and that is try and build a good linebacking core and solid DB play and plug up the Dline with guys like Dalton, Maddox, Thomas Johnson....Weaver and Williams on the ends sounds good to me because when Weaver moved inside, he didnt have much success....Although if we dont add anyone over the offseason on the Dline and Weaver adds some weight I could see us lining up

Williams....Weaver....T.Johnson....Babin

Either way....bring in Clements or Samuel....
 
I don't care who they get as long as they do something about that oline it is time 5 years of poor oline play has to stop that is were their thinking needs to go even in a trade something.

Williams....Branch....Warm body on your list.....Weaver.

Peak and Babs are situational guys at best. Just roll players...period. On third down and long, a rarity resently, Babin and Peak make good play makers. Don't be surprised if they choose between the two this off season. I refuse to believe that CC's finger prints were any where near the '06 class. He might of been in the room. But he wasn't pulling the trigger on the picks. I don't care what the spin was last year.
 
I seriously doubt they go Dline in the 1st round......they have done it for 3 years in a row and we have too much money invested in the Dline for what they're doing. I can almost guarantee they go Offense....Either Oline or RB with the 1st pick.

I'll have to go back & count, but I think Babin takes as many snaps as Weaver, who still takes snaps as a DT. I think Weaver is being listed as the starter, because he was brought in by Kubiak, we gave him $25 mil, and he takes alot of snaps.

I would say Babin is one of our best 3 DEs... I would have him as our 2nd best DE, My starting lineup(& I think our best lineup) is Mario, Weaver, Maddox, Babin.

Thats awfully close to the line up I posted....whenever Babin is on the field he is close to the ball....and I think now he leads the team in sacks....so for a so called "situational" guy thats pretty good....I really believe they will keep Babin over Peek...Peek is all hype because he plays aggressive
 
i see sage as a kurt warner type of guy...not a superstar, spent his share of years on the bench, but led his rams to the SB in 99....except the texans are sage's team so 9-7 would be fine with me.
 
lol jake plummer had one of the best o lines in football and he struggled. Put him behind our o line? We just have an injured qb and one with less talent than carr had.


We need to stick with Carr. He is our guy, and he will be our guy, and he will lead us to the playoffs, I guarantee it.
