Please don't waste your tickets

Texans_Chick

Utopian Dreamer
I know that some folks don't want to go to the upcoming games because they are disgusted with the team.

And others can't go because of the holidays. Or because they want to be with their families.

Please consider selling or giving your tickets away.

I put various ways to do this in one place in this blog post in the Chronic.

You see, I would like people to be sitting around me, and I don't like the sensation that all the seats around me are empty, like I didn't bathe or something.

Ticket brokers should be dumping holiday tickets for less money, so consider using these upcoming games as a chance to take someone to a game who has never been.

The NFL totally screwed the Texans in putting together a home schedule that was massively front and back loaded. It was decidedly uncool for the fans, and not terribly conducive to winning. It wasn't the Texans only problem this season, but I think it factors in.

Just a thought.

My cousin and I knew a couple of months ago that we were not going to make it to the Christmas Eve game so we gave them to one of the big shots at the office. Got a free steak dinner out of it. Probably couldn't do any better on e-bay.

Nice comment.

The Texans are the only team in the league that had a stretch of 6 of 8 games on the road with three in a row on the road in the middle.

The only team.

You may call it an excuse, but it is just a fact.

The only factory I know that is running overtime is the Perpetual Mr. Grumpy Pants factory.

is there a site you can go to to get discounted tickets? me and my friends love the texans and would love to go. any ideas?

Oh so true!

This place is more negative than any other site on the internet I think. I want to win as much as anybody, but let's keep things in perspective too...especially at this time of year.

Go Texans!

If you are not going to use your tickets, for whatever reason - see about giving them away or donating them to underpriveledged kids, whatever.

Do something positive with them, especially being the holidays...

I think making a kid happy is way more important than any of the other petty crap displayed on this board...

Too bad they won't let walk up go in, as I think the place will be 1/3 empty. Bad team and awful schedule do not go well together !!

Check out my blog post.

Last year the week of games, the ticket brokers were selling tickets on upper levels at serious discount. They just wanted to be done with them.

There are often kind people on the MB that sell their tickets for face or less. Keep checking that forum.

Stubhub closer to the date of the game sometimes have them at a discount. But then you have to go to a downtown location a couple hours before the game to get them and you miss quality tailgating time.

The Texans lose regardless of where they play or at what time. So why not schedule them around to make it more benefical to the entire league as a whole? It is just smart business, the Texans are not worth watching for even a Texans fan.

Well for the players it is a good schedule, they can be home for the holidays, even though we are a bit put out by it, but none the less, I wil lbe there 6:00am both games...Not like there's a whole heck of a lot of stuff going on at 6:00am that a good tailgate festivus doesn't beat.

I never waste my tickets. I always go. To see a great team play against us is still very enjoyable for me. I sit in the bull pen and will cheer and boo as needed. The whole Texan experience is what you get from the game. Drink a few beers and have some good food and laugh and live it up before hand. Then go watch a good game (colts) and head home afterward. It sure beats the heck out of doing nothing but laying around on a sunday and being a bum!!

I will fly in from MD for some free/discounted tickets. If someone can't make it, let me know. :logo:

Cowboy troll.

:coffee:

My life isn't miserable to answer your question on my CP. What does that have to with me stating a fact?

I don't know why you had to give me negative rep for stating a fact that the Texans are not going to be a priority when it comes to scheduling for the NFL.

As for being a Cowboy troll, you are so far off it is not even funny. You don't know what you are talking about in that regard. Do little research before you says thing like that.

I have been a season ticketholder since 2002 and if you check my postings, I really don't care about the Cowboys or what they do.

Maybe you can't handle the truth that nobody cares about the Texans, including many Texan fans. But please hammer me for negative rep on something else that makes sense or has some sort of arguement. I just stated a fact. Don't take it out on me.

Some other genius also gave me negative CP and told me to turn off the TV. That is a great ida, the less people watching the Texans means more of this scheduling crap that you guys don't like.

Please think before you write these things.

c'mon now. you should known there wasn't venom in that post of mine.
it was an attempt at humor because I honestly hadn't heard that argument/reason/excuse yet.
i thought the emoticon would show that it was all in jest, and yes I have been Mr.Scrooge around here lately...no doubt about it

back on the post subject - I have 4 tickets for the game on Sunday Section 134, Row R with 2 orange lot passes. Great seats and are $65 face value a piece. If you buy all 4, I can do it for $200 bones and you get the orange lot passes for free....you have to meet me on the northern side of town though....anywhere off of I-45 north of FM1960 or south of Conroe.

Send me a PM if your interested. They are damn good seats and the people around us are good fans. RIght by where the visiting team leaves the tunnel.

Please put this post in the Ticket, PSL forum: link

I can't use your tickets this week because my friend I go to games with who usually tries to find tickets for her family to also attend, just got her tonsils out, and is feeling decidedly unwell.

Nah..that aint what you said. Re-read your own post.

You claim your opinions as fact, which they aren't.

If they are not worth watching...quit watching. You still seem to somehow follow what the team is doing or not doing.

Nobody cares about the Texans? :shades:

That's not a fact.

Speak for yourself .. I still care and so do many other Texan fans.

Take what out on you? We just disagree.

I feel you lose credibility when you present your opinions as fact..thus the negitive rep. Lighten up...it doesn't cost anything..you won't be billed for it...:D

Neg. rep doesn't bother me in the least...only the fact that some posters :hides: don't have the gonads to sign it. Got one yesterday,... coward didn't sign it.

Any rep. should automatically have the senders sig attached.

You claim your opinions as fact, which they aren't.

Question: How many Monday Night games have the Texans played?

Answer: Zero.

Question: How many Sunday Night games have the Texans played?

Answer: Three, and the two last year had extremely low ratings.

Question: Why not any Sunday Night games this year?

Answer: The ratings were so bad last year.

Question: Are the Texans played on TV all over Texas?

Answer: No.

The Texans cannot keep a national audience, much a less Texas audience. That is a fact. How you want to interpret that, I guess is up to you.

I record "Inside the NFL" every week. I fast forward all the crap except for the highlights of the Texans. Most of the time I can't even find that they even cover the game. That is a fact.

I go to several sports bars in Hollywood to watch the Texans, and no one else watches the Texans or even cares. Some people even laugh at me for being a fan. LA is a big melting pot with people from all over the place and all other teams are pretty much represented.

You can say that it is my opinion, but it is pretty much fact that most people are not interested in the Texans, which means they are not going to get scheduling breaks. No one wants to watch the Texans outside of the fanbase, and a lot of fans are starting to feel that way too.

Not worth watching...but you continue to do so. :thumbup

It appears I was out of line calling you a dullas troll.

Sounding more like a very frustated fan. :fans:

"Laughing at me".

I think most Texan fans are feeling the same way.:embarrass

A hard emotion to handle.

You know what "they" say about the last laugh. Our time will come.

It isn't fun being a Texan fan right now, but I will not deride my team in a public forum for all the trolls from other teams to read.

Honest critique I can handle, but I occasionally bash trolls and people I perceive to be full of themselves.

:coffee:

You want a fact cupocoffee. Here's a fact. The Texans are the worst expansion team in history through 5 years. Put that in your pipe and smoke it. :stooges:

I understand that you think some good could come out of something so bad, like selling tickets to people who cant normally afford to go, or giving them away all together, but how does that help me send a message that I am unhappy with the product?

I am filling the seats, sending someone to the concession stands to spend money, and giving the Texans org another reason to think that what is going on is OK by me, because I still came, and still spent money at the game.

There is no need to send a message. The Texans know that the fans are not happy.

The only message that the team will get from poor attendence is that the team has a sorry record and people are staying home with their families.

So people can spite or send a message or whatever, or they can sell or give away their tickets to someone that would not be able to go to a game if times were better.

Andre goes the probowl, DeMeco fights his heart out to lead his defence out of the bowls of doodoo and you people want to give your tickets away?

If you're giving your tickets away because you're mad about Carr or you can't stand the fact that we have 11 on IR then:

YOU need to be traded.

Looking good TC! I glanced at the pic and thought "Oh look someone put a pic of a cheerleader as their avatar".

Thanks.

I just wanted to add some more Christmas spirit to the MB, and I came across this picture from last year when I was looking for something else.

I am not quite sure why they chose the Colts game to be the Deep Steel Blue game, but I am sure I can figure out some sort of Christmasy blue outfit.

Feel better now?

:wow:....could you show me any post...any time.. I have said the Texans were a good team...just one.

I'm waiting...:shades:

Another fact though is that you are projecting yourself as a very disgruntled, belligerent, Texan fan.

You are still here so I presume you are still a fan.

I am sure hollywood_texan appreciates you coming to his rescue, but he handled it very well by himself...he provided reasoning for his stance.

He received my mea culpa.

You..on the other hand come into this with your ....well ...b.s doesn't do it justice.

FYI..I do not smoke a pipe. I quit that nasty, smelly, bad for your health habit over 25 years ago.

ppssstt, why does everyone forget the cheerleaders?? :yahoo: It's time for the Christmas outfits. I got pumped up watching other NFL cheerleaders in their Christmas outfits!!!

Seriously, ticket prices are tanking on Ebay. If you can't sell yours, give them to a charity. I am sure someone has posted the link to the org. that sends under[rivileged children with donated tickets?

Nice of you 'wood'.

I conceded that I was apparently out of line calling you a cowboy troll, don't know what else I could have done.

Lesson learned concerning you. Maybe my first instinct was correct. (insert smilie of back stabber)

I am now duly chastized and terrified...:sarcasm: :pigfly:

Porky sought me out...I only responded in kind, sorta.

Didn't realize you two were related.

:coffee:

:fortune: You got a long wait for this team to be one of the best, they'll be lucky to have an above .500 record by 2010.
look for them to make the playoffs around 2015:BananaWav

Totally agree with this one... I live in Cleveland, and I was able to get discounted tickets to the Browns/Buccaneers game on Sunday. I'm taking my special needs (autistic) daughter to the game. She's 20 years old, and recently became a football fan. I'm so thankful that someone decided to sell their tickets at a reasonable price so we could afford to go. My daughter is so excited.....

I realize this isn't quite a Texans topic, but I just wanted to agree - please don't let you tickets go unused.. There are so many that would be thrilled by the chance to attend an NFL game.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!

Gail (Texans are my #2 team, always!)

I am taking a young man from the neighborhood. He's 8 now and his Dad has been gone (passed) since he was 3. He doesn't have it too easy. I think someone at his school even turned them into a Santa program. He has been riding his new bike for a week now.

Today he says, "3...no...2 more days!"

"Oh yeah? You ready for Christmas, Hoss?"

"No...2 more days til the game!"

I took him and his sister to most of the Copperheads games last year. This will be his first NFL game though. Think he's gonna have fun?

It was all good fun.

I am not related to Porky, I only know of him through this board.

Porky and I went at it a lot regarding Reggie Bush. After that blew over, and I saw other things he posted, we agreed on a lot of things.

With that, I have the following for you:

First, from what I have seen of Porky, he is a cool guy.

Second, you might find out we have a lot more in common once the Carr issue is disposed of.

Third, most importantly, and once again, it was all in good fun. I would be surprised if Porky went after you maliciously. I look at this board like a football field. While on the field and between the whistles, you go after it at full speed, but outside of that time we conduct ourselves as normal citizens.

Have a Happy Holiday!

It's nice to see that some people "get it" like Chato and Sk8termom....

1. When I had Club I season tickets, I had a difficult time finding people who wanted to go to the games. That's one of the reasons I sold my PSLs.

2. If the Texans want to promote people giving the tickets to those who can't afford them, maybe they should think about cutting the concession prices?

3. TC you say that the team "knows the fans are unhappy". Well we were unhappy last year and the team shot all of us the middle finger by drafting Mario Williams. It was a classic "we're smarter than you are" move for which Charlie Casserly is so famous. Thanks goodness VY shot the finger back for many of us with his game-winning TD run. Sooooo satisfying. Draft VY and we're not having this discussion, we're discussing what premium one would have to pay the brokers for tickets, even if we were still 4-10. And spare me the "get over it".

4. I don't have tickets so this is easy for me to say, but I hope the stadium is completely empty on Sunday. I'm not convinced that the team cares whether or not the fans are unhappy. Or if they'll ever care.

5. Someone take a picture of the scoreboard when the team announces a sold out crowd of 70,000. Try to get the stands in the picture, maybe there'll be a fan or two in the picture as well

miami had a little 5 of 8 away stretch, with 3 in a row on the road, including one against the texans. that's the way scheduling works...it's just impossible to make it completely balanced. every year a team is going to get a stretch like the texans or dolphins had.

2) Concessions are run by Aramark

5) The seats are already sold irrespective of who shows up or not.. In fact, the entire season has been sold-out.
