First of all Mr. VY will lose his luster soon enough, Michael Vick was the next coming of Christ when he entered the league, well I wouldn't take him over half the QB's in the league. Phillip Rivers is better then Young, and do I even have to mention Carson Palmer. Palmer is the best QB to come out since Tom Brady. Young doesn't come close to Palmer. There's no debate there, if you think there is you don't the NFL. The NFL is not college, in college you can get away with a pourous o-line, a weak defensive line, a weak safety corps., nobody runningbacks. But not here, not in the big leagues. Soon enough Young will find out why defensive cordinators get paid so much. But thats besides the point its time for all the Young suckups to stop complaining, the draft is over, the draft was almost nine months ago. And guess what, Young and Bush would have done nothing with this Texans team. First of all Andre Johnson would have hated it, so his being on this team would have been negated by a non throwing QB. Second you have to have some ability to run the ball, Titans got Henry, White, and Brown. Not exactly barn burners, but none the less better than Dayne, Gado, and Lundy. Also the Titans o-line is so much better. But enough of the Young Carr argument. its over theres nothing the Texans can do about it. And anyway all the Carr haters, what do you want to do with him? Dump him, then what? Troy Smith, don't make me laugh, JaMarcus Russell, who, Brian Brohm, he might not come out. So then who? Dump Carr and keep Sage, are you kidding? We as Texan fans need to start early this year and start rooting for Adrian Peterson in the first round and Justin Blaylock in the second. And we need to root hard for these guys to come to Houston. As an expension team we're in a constant rebuilding period untill we make a serious run. And blowing up the team would set this team back not a couple of games or a year, but multiple years. People seem to think that the Titans were horrible last year, well the weren't. Its not Young on defense, its not Young throwing for 300 yards or 4 or 5 TD's a game. Its the Titans as a team thats winning, Young just happen to be the missing piece. With the Texans its so much more than that. No running game(even with D.Davis), one of the worst o-line's in the league, no pass rush up the middle(T. Johnson is a bust), no LB corps(except Ryans), no #2 cornerback, and absolutely no safety help in any facet of the game(run support or pass coverage). I mean look at this team from a whole, no one guy is going to all of a sudden make this team playoff contenders, but multiple pieces will. So in the next few months or so we as fans need to make it very clear that Adrain Peterson is the choice or at the very least Joe Thomas for the first round pick. I mean look at Chad Pennington with D'Brickashaw Ferguson as his OLT. Chad has gotten new life, and the Jets are winning. Look, I would love to believe that with Young, the Texans could have or would have made the playoffs or at least made a good winning run, but I'm a realist, and I know Its going to take some time. Just look at the Bengals, for God's sake they were terrible forever, but with good, smart draft picks(Justin Smith, Chad Johnson, Carson Palmer, Levi Jones, Willie Anderson, Odell Thurman, Madeau Williams, Jonathan Joseph, Ahmad Brooks, etc.) they literally built the team from the ground up. And for a matter of fact so did the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts were freagin' horrible for decades, but with the right GM, the right coach, the right personal decisions, and a little luck and there it is, they are a playoff team. So the only way for us as fans to be happy is for us to look to the future. As a fan I'll start complaining when in the 8th or 9th year of the franchise the Texans aren't making any progress but untill then I'll be optimistic. I got my season tickets and I'll show up every sunday and go crazy for my Houston Texans, and If you haters out there can't stop b*#ching than stay away, because apparently you guys don't remember what is was like with out pro football in Houston. See, to harp on the past breeds losing, its a constant reminder of what might have been instead of what will happen, and thats annoying. When I'm with my buddies and they bring up Young or Bush, I just laugh, I mean why stop there. Why not look at all the previous drafts and complain, why not the woulda, coulda, shoulda, its so easy with hind sight. What will you haters say if Mario goes to a pro bowl before Bush and Young, because the odds are that he will. Young will never ever beat out Brady, Manning, or Palmer. I mean never. As for Bush, he's not even the best RB on his team(whats his yards per carry, or total rush yards) and he'll never beat out Shaun Alexander, or Frank Gore, and maybe not even Caidalac, Cedrec B., Tiki, and Chester Taylor. M. Williams has a better shot, then what will you say? Just chill out, stop comparing us and the Texans to the Cowboys and there fans. Oh, and buy the way if all you Young supporters are so smart and your so good with football decsions way aren't you on the Texans payroll or on some other NFL teams payroll. We are fans, thats it, leave the multi-million dollar problems to the multi-millionairs. And me, I'll be fine watching the Texans from the stands.

Just like LYB said....paragraphs.

Right now, the Texans suck. The only positive is our offseason...where we have the joyous occasion of another high draft pick.

Only this time, Casserly can't screw us up.

The voice of reason, even without paragraphs.

The Colts are a good example. They've had a great team and Manning is heading towards the hall of fame, but he is their team. So even if we had VY, RB or such, it takes more. Take away Manning and the Colts are a mediocre team.

A whole team has to be built, granted the QB is very important, but there is always more to it than just one great player.

Im with Gsus8091 Carr is the man personally i think kubiak is at fault for not being able to perform miracles i say let fire Kubiak and let get david in to another system and if that doesnt work lets fire that coach too until we get david to be a sucesfull QB. :sarcasm:

People aren't complaining because they're "haters."

They're complaining because they love the team but hate the way it's being run.

I feel like I'm rooting for a corporation instead of a football team.

Your forgetting one thing when you compare Young to Palmer and Vick.First unlike Vick Young has heart and he is a winner. Unlike Palmer Young is actually playing in his rookie year.I think Palmer was sitting on the bench.Lets compare the two when Young is in his 4th year.

Ok I'm really OVER the VY thing but for you to sit there and say cheer for Adrian Peterson. What???? The guy that can't play an entire season. Oh that defintiely helps Carr's running game.

Remember we already have an oft injured RB = Domanic Davis. But I guess you figure when one is injured the other won't be and they can just take turns in the training room and on the field.

Secondly you know nothing of the college qb's coming out. Yes its COLLEGE they play but guess where Carson Palmer came from....COLLEGE. What a concept huh?

You can make all the excuses you want to but what Carr AND the O-line did today was some of the worse football I've ever seen out of this team and that's saying a WHOLE lot. It quite frankly to me looks like they've QUIT and just want the season over with and you know what I want it over for them and Texans fans who are FRUSTRATED NOT HATERS.

You don't need Sunday Ticket to see Carr is not "the guy". He had good protection on the two interceptions that were shown in the highlights. I don't know who will be "the guy" for the Texans, but it isn't him.

I would like to note that the Texans need a hard-hitting SS as well. As far as I am concerned I love the Texans. :texan:

Good rant. I agree with most of what you said, but I'm not in favor of getting Peterson in the 1st round. I'm still not sold on his durability. Now getting Thomas in the 1st I can agree with, and I hope we do. Anyway, I know it's good to vent and get this off your chest. Just have a little mercy next time and break the text up into several paragraphs. Thanks.

He's also taking alot of chances out there..Matter of time before he's hurt...He's trying to do too much too quick because of all the pressure and expectations on him..

First off, I respect the message you're passing along here, but have a few rebuttals to your arguement.

#1) The "expansion team" arguement is now a moot point. In the modern era, gone are the days where the expansion teams are given 10 years to get their act in gear. Tampa Bay, Jacksonville and Carolina all made the playoffs within three years. Granted, all three fell to hell shortly thereafter, however two of the three set the groundwork for future success in the early going.

Regardless of that, it's been five years. The "we're still an expansion team" arguement is not a valid one anymore. In the NFL, where one year turnarounds are no longer odd commodities, there comes a time to take that next step.

#2) Obviously, Carr's not all to blame for the ills of the Houston Texan organization, just like Dom Capers and Charley Casserly weren't. However, in the end, continuity at QB and success at the position will either make him or kill him. Thus far, after 5 years of patience, Texan fans have made their choice and want to move on. Justifiably so, when you look at some of his performances, especially today. Sooner or later, people want more.

#3) 90 percent of the people who post here seem like they have a devout support of the Houston Texan franchise. However, keep in mind, by and large the Oilers put a winning product on the field with some routine regularity, and it's not asking or expecting a lot for Houston to do the same. The honeymoon period is over, it's time to make that next step. Us wanting the team to make that next step doesn't diminish our support of the team. It makes us clamor for more in hopes that eventually that lightbulb will go off with McNair and company and this team will reach levels we all think and hope they can reach.
