Bring out Mick Jagger: It's all over now
What a terrible performance by the Texans' offense, specifically David Carr. I think it's the worst game of his career. Even though of us who defended him for so long have to admit that.

Carr set a career high with four interceptions. They led 16 points in the Patriots' victory that dropped the Texans to 4-10 with, mercifully, only two remaining against the Colts and Browns. Right now, those appear to be two more losses.

Okay, gang, I know you want to get rid of Carr. That's a given. But if the Texans have a top-five pick, who do you want them to draft with the first pick.

Now, I'm headed to the dressing room for the post-game news conference. It's going to resemble a morgue. I'd get more of a pulse in a morgue, actually.

When I'm finished with interviews, I'll come back and do audio and another wrap-up blog. It's not going to be pretty.

Hey, here's the utlimate insult: Vinny Testaverde just became the Patriots' third quarterback to play. I think he's trying to earn his letter.

I have been one of Carr's biggest supporters. After this performance in his 5th year. I just can't continue. I just don't know where we are headed, but it cannot be with Carr taking the snaps.

ok, lots of asterisks coming.

**** john mcclain. he's a pathetic fat pig. he doesn't care about the texans, or houston, excepting he gets rich here taking advantage of a large number of inane people here. he's a nasty person, and not very bright. he's pure trailer-trash done good.

he and justice are pure deliverance-ville carpetbaggers who will take the first flight out of town when something better comes along. it is a joke the chronicle can't find a real NFL writer who has anything positively invested in houston.

Yeah, but....ahh, forget it. That post was bad. I've been around McClain numerous times - he's fine. Pretty much a normal human.

HE'S AN OPINION-BASED COLUMNIST!!

I like McClain. Always have. He isn't always right or I don't always agree with him but he is one of the most well connected NFL columnists in the nation. like it or not, he is better than most NFL columnists out there.

If not for McClain, then Elvin Bethea never gets into the HOF imo. He is not only well connected, he is influential. If he could only get Dr Doom and his 7 pro bowls in...Probably asking too much.

I've never had a problem with McClain. I found his articles insightful. Sometimes it does seem like he spends more time on the Cowboys and Titans but other than that I find him entertaining and worth the read. As an NFL columnists he is entitled to his opinion and so are we. If you don't like him than don't read his columns. Simple as that.

McClain doesn't always get his stories right with his "connections" but he is usually entertaining to read and listen to IMO. But I think that blog was pretty much on the mark. I believe he was the head of the NFL Writers Association or something like that for a while also so I think he's well respected by his peers.

He writes good articles. He also answers his email. He made a case for Warren Moon getting into the HOF and actually got him in. I think McClain gets a bad rap around here.

I agree. I think he loves the town and he has alot of good connections and stories. I'd rather hear him talk football than some of the personalities on air around here. Now Justice, that guy is another story.

We are a bad team. Certain fans refuse to admit this, and will get upset at other fans saying that we are a bad team. Does it make sense? Nope, but to many people blindly cheering for the team and always singing their praises is what makes you a true fan

In regards to the quote: "...it is a joke the chronicle can't find a real NFL writer who has anything positively invested in houston."

Having a writer who has anything invested automatically biases his opinion. We need people not afraid to call things like they are. Granted, people are people and "objective" opinions are rare, I'd rather that, than a lock-step, Yes-Man.

just my :twocents:
