..... All you Texans fans at Reliant Stadium... Good job. The place was loud when the Titans were on offense. Best I've heard in my short time(going to Reliant) throughout the game.

Bullpen..... I hate to say, but I think the opposite endzone had you beat. But you did a good job as well.

I think we got two false starts out of them.... not bad... we can do better.

But overall, you guys were awesome.

We lost the game... there are no "moral victories" but it was the toss of the coin that beat us...

Is this Vince's new nickname? "Toss of the Coin"

I don't like it.

Let's stick with VY

it was the inability of 7 guys blitzing on the QB and not getting there that opened up the hole .. and titans had great blocking by the WRs to spring Vince all the way.. don't get me wrong, Vince ran like the wind but ...

I was just saying that blaming the loss on a coin flip is ridiculous.

Haha im watching Saturday night football and Vick just got picked off by a DE and he took it to the house. Demarcus Ware I believe.

oh I believe that too about the coin toss.

teams that win the coin toss win a ton of games in OT.. just the way it goes

After 4 quarters of play and allowing a QUARTERBACK to scramble 46 yards for a Touchdown to win the game.....and then blaming it on the coin toss is just a cop out. SCAPEGOAAAAAT.

Hahahahahahahahah. "Holding" more like our line picking up the blitz, Vince realizing the blitz and running past your entire secondary like they're wearing bricks as shoes.

Demeco made a good tackle....oh wait, no he didn't

how could he not? we sent 7 of eleven guys at him and the OL picked it up?

If we won the coin toss, your QB never would have got back on the field....

So the defense can't win the game? Turnovers can happen in overtime. Or a 3 and out. You know that, right?

the team that wins the toss, wins the game 58% of the time..... it could've gone either way, you're right..... but the team that wins the toss wins most of the time.

Your team played about as well as ours for four qtrs.... 20-20..... don't act like you owned us or anything.

If tails was called, we'd have won the game.... more than likely.

You guys played a good game, then afterwards, VY had a free walk to the endzone (honestly a lineman could have made that run), Nothing that spectacular on his part. just like the rest of the game, he threw a lot of bad passes, missed most of his potential big plays. pretty much what he's been doing so far this year... but he's a rookie, he'll get better with time. Luckily for the Titans, the rest of the team has played pretty well, they've made VY look pretty good.

See ya next season..

True, I was watching it at home, and I was very pleased with the Crowd noise.

The crowd did good and I was pleasantly surprised that we had a solid majority rooting for the Texans. I think Reliant will be one tough place to play when the Texans become winners, because it has been built to really capture excessive crowd noise. I think it'll even be crazier than the 'house of pain' back in the Oilers' heyday, especially after the drought we've experienced as Houston football fans.

I don't get what you are saying. I don't think you meant that "?" at the end. That'd make more sense.

I was saying that Demeco had a clear shot at Vince and wiffed.

demeco came around a block on the outside(not way outside) and vince ran basically up the middle on it.. clear shot no

i wonder if we would of won anyway had we gotten the coin toss, Carr is very inconsistant and i think he would have found a way get sacked for a large loss or OL would have been called for false start. you know the same ole same. ahhh i'm just kidding he'd of had a clear path and would of passed the line of scrimage and then tried to hit Vince Young on the side line...

with the blitz we came on and how it was picked up. Payton manning would have ran for a first down.. it was wide open..

Marc Vandermeer said the percentage is 52% that the team that wins the coin toss wins the game.

HHHMMMM, TITANS avatar???? Lost a bet huh???

it was crappy to see that and what was worse was when i got to work and people start going oh yeah you were totally right, that Mario Williams was one great pick, good thing you didn't get VY. then when you try to explain that, that was the only play that he did anything on it just kinda snow balls from there

It's a little late again, but I need to tell you....

All you guys at Reliant, y'all were a big part of that win Sunday. I doubt the Texans could have done that without y'all.

Good job, and all you guys & gals screaming from home...... or your Texans party or whatever, I believe we heard y'all too.

Good job guys, keep it up.

This could be the worst post of all time. I will have to check with Mr. Nibbles in Records & Audits.

well, if they wanted to draft a QB in first round this year they would be admitting a mistake. Therefore, they are stuck with DC or another FA. Until they admit they should have taken VY, and go ahead and draft a franchise QB they will not be a winning team.

we need to draft a franchise QB to prove that we made a mistake by passing on Vince Young to stick with our franchise QB??

doesn't really make sense.

I think Kubiak should stay the course....... no one is crying that we passed on Reggie Bush.... who most every body tried to force us into doing.....

maybe because we are managing to run the ball pretty well.

I'm not a big David Carr fan, but I'm beginning to see what Kubes is thinking, and I believe David is going to play a big part in that plan...

Vince is going to be amazing..... I don't doubt that. I don't, and I doubt any Texans fan resent Tennessee for making him the first QB taken in the '06 draft.

But to think he will be the only QB winning games is just stupid.

Manning will get his, McNabb will get his. Brady will win a few, and so will Palmer.

David Carr is going to win some as well, and we'll own the AFC South before you know it.

Ok, who is impostering thunderkyss here? Mods is it possible for another person to take over his account because this has to be an imposter.

JK. But this is how I have looked at it for a long time, and what it boils down to is winning. Winning cures all and I hoped that the Colt win would negate VY's homecoming.

Let me ask this, is there a franchise QB in this draft or in FA. If not a certifiable yes, then Carr stays.

I would us picking a QB in the 1st round(which we won't do) be admitting a mistake? Ever heard of addressing a need?

If you attended the first game, you wouldn't doubt that. I've never experienced any crowd noise like that for any game or concert. When Quincy Carter got sacked for a safety, it was so loud you couldn't hear yourself think.

My ears were ringing for four days after that first game. Give us reason to cheer, and it'll be that loud again someday.

yep, I was there and at every home game since then. :thumbup

I bet the Patriots didn't think there was a franchise QB available when they picked up Tom Brady in rd 6 either. Unless you are Kreskin, how do you know before hand, and exactly who certifiies them anyway? Is there an official franchise QB certification organization? Does it get stamped on their reume? idonno:

Mario was blatantly held on that play too, but why call a blitz on 3rd and 13 with VY back there?

Because they played so well all day. Richard Smith gave them the chance to get there and end the game in regulation ? They didn't get there.

Nice post Porky.

True, but the scouts get it as right as they can. On a non-football forum we were discussing Troy Smith and the success/failure of quarterbacks. Some of the things that were noted:

Hall of Fame Quarterbacks in the Super Bowl era and the round they were drafted in:
Troy Aikman (1st)
Terry Bradshaw (1st)
Len Dawson (1st)
John Elway (1st)
Dan Fouts (4th)
Bob Griese (1st)
Jim Kelly (1st)
Dan Marino (1st)
Joe Montana (3rd)
Warren Moon (Undrafted)
Steve Young (1st)

Despite being less than 16% of the NFL QB population, first round QBs accounted for...
...43% of all "Playoff Appearances"
...49% of all "Playoff Wins"
...52% of all "Super Bowl Appearances"
...51% of all "Super Bowl Wins"
...46% of all "Pro Bowl Selections"

That group of 54 first rounders has played in more, and won more Super Bowls than ALL OTHER QBS PLAYING IN THE NFL OVER THE PAST 25 YEARS COMBINED.

The statistics would be even more overwhelming if not for two QBs over the past 25 years. One of which was just a miss by the talent people, including the team that drafted him (Tom Brady). The other was a product of NFL bias when he came out of college (Warren Moon).

If you remove those two and extend it to Day One (round 1-3)...

Removing just those two players from the pool, and those same 32% of Day One QBs accounts for...

...69% of all "Playoff Appearances"
...77% of all "Playoff Wins"
...81% of all "Super Bowl Appearances"
...91% of all "Super Bowl Wins"
...75% of all "Pro Bowl Appearances"

Which of course means nothing regarding Carr, but it also means that Tom Brady is a virtually unheard of commodity.

In the salary cap era it is a different game. How championship teams are built has been much different since 1993.
