Youtube:Youngs run to win it

I am not taking anything away from Vince,

pause this thing at 57 seconds.. you can count 7 guys on the blitz and the Titans OL did a heck of a job..

Meco had to come around the side so the middle was wide open..

great run by vince to get the TD and his speed did the rest.

Titan OL , My hats off to you.

one thing that bugs me is you see mario on left side of screen, now whether or not it was holding, you see Mario raise his hands for a call.(about a minute into thatvideo )...

i'd rather him finish the play off instead of worrying about looking for a call.(whether it was holding or not)

After Young broke through the line and was heading into the secondary I was both impressed with a) How Young just turned it on and bolted the endzone. B) how CC looked rediculous in trying to make a play. We have got to address this problem in the offseason.

I'd love for us to sign a veteran CB, use the first pick for a CB and move Dunta to FS....won't happen though.

Bold moves. That makes them unlikely in this organization.

Do you really think Dunta would hold up at FS with his size? He seems pretty light.

football has evolved into a game of package/situational defenses. I think he works best when they move him inside when we go nickel and plays more like a FS. We need two top corners if we keep using him like this anyway...and this is where he excels. CC Brown makes a top reserve and you can split him in enough to make sure Dunta is fresh enough to pick off some passes and bang some heads. Like I said, I doubt we "fix" the secondary in one swoop like this since he is so small, and it's not gonna happen, but I've seen undersized guys like Blaine Bishop go to Pro Bowls in the past. Mostly thinking out loud. Faggins is a liability on the edge in run contain. He gets exploited often. The secondary needs a big overhaul.

You're singing to the choir my friend. Although I would keep Dunta at the #2 spot on the RCB position. Get a solid FA Safety.

There might have been a hold on Mario, but he wasn't going to catch Vince. Vince was already five yards past him when it happened and was just about to turn on the jets.

I forgot to mention thanks for posting that. My weekend is now ruined. I thought I was over it. I was wrong. Time to go back to therapy.

I was there. I don't need to relive it.

I was up in the 600's so it was a long walk down, again. Just one more walk of shame.

One Titan fan actually asked me if I was going to be OK.

Funny...

I am kind of surprised that no one asked me that 'cause I was in some weird state where all I could do was chuckle to myself.. Not as an insult to my Texans but more in a state of shock or some delusional state... Glad no one called the guys in the funny white suits to meet me at the bottom of the ramp....

You aren't the only one. I was in that exact state of mind myself. Usually I get all pissed off but this loss was definitely different.

OzzO

.. and then?
Third - I was walking down the ramps laughing a bit, seemed like the ending couldn't have been written better.

From the numerous losses of this franchise, I've gone from upset to pissed to numb to finding it humorous in a delusional way. I think the Texans are going to have to put up padded walls in the concourse if they keep this up.

I started finding humor in the Texans' performances after Pendry was made offensive coordinator. A Texans fan can't afford to live or die by this team - depression and suicide would run rampant.

This is somehting that I have started to learn, albeit after 5 years... Hey, I'm slow but I'm not smart...

mario was DEFINITLY HELD on that play. he was in position to tackle vince young, or atleast hinder his run some (so that someone else could've finished the tackle). mario is also only about half a step slower than young.

i couldn't believe there was no flag on that play. ridiculous!

looking at other angles of the replay, mario probably wouldn't have been able to tackle vince young. however, he was still held and a flag should've been thrown. the titans running back made the phenomenal cut block, and the titans lost containment because of that. then, young just burned y'all in the open field. you still gotta throw that flag, refs!

I agree. Although he was held by the time vince broke that barrier mario was not going to catch him.

as soon as I saw VY break for it I was the first person to respond to the play in the game thread....I believe I said something along these lines....haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

mario is also only about half a step slower than young.

I went back to my truck, grabbed my texans flag pole waived it proudly and screamed TEXANS at any titans fan I could see.
Good job... Show your pride in this city and this team irrespective of the times we are going through right now, what needs to be fixed, who needs to go and who needs to stay (and we ALL can agree that a lot has to be done)... Don't jump ship, thats what a front-runner does!

(Disclaimer: Sorry to "Runner", no intentions on smudging your name).

I watched that clip on Youtube too many times to count and let me tell you that hold DID NOT HINDER MARIO from getting Vince. That hold didn't even kick in until the play was already past him. It probably should have been called, but I never like calls that were no where near the action when they happened. Vince was already about 8-10 yards upfield before that even happened.
